You da man! IMO this is the best control for poa annua that’s available
I have velocity it is pretty good stuff. This is year 28 managing professional golf course turf. Learned a lot since i graduated from umass with turf degree. I’ve worked a lot of pga and lpga majors and Ryder and president cups. Met and worked with some really knowledgeable ppl. Pete you really know your stuff fun channel to watch and learn. Great boss great man of god and family man. Shoutout to all who watch

Stockbridge! I'm a UMass grad too but Fine Arts. Now I'm chasing my 20 year love affair with turf. So much to learn out there and it's always changing. Go UMass!
making those loops around your shed brought back memories of rusty wallace at Rockingham
I have been dealing with poa for the last several seasons. Your logic makes sense. I will be skipping plugging the lawn this year and I will also bag the clippings while seeds are present at least.

Yep! You’ll see a drastic reduction in
Love this channel! Your knowledge of nature/landscaping in general helps me learn a lot just from watching you for a few mins at a time!
That was as fast as you drive your truck, Pete. 😜
You always have the coolest equipment! 👍
I’m going to use Velocity PM. Have Poa annua evenly spread in 1/2 my back yard about 20k sq ft. I aerate every spring as we ride equipment and SXS machines across it. Only seen 2 other weeds total no crabgrass.
Anyone have any recommendations on where to get the big faux landscape rocks to cover septic aerobic systems?
You must be a mind-reader, Pete. I was just looking this up a few days ago because my front yard is so compacted. Thank you so much for posting this. I'll be renting an aerator over the weekend. Would you suggest mowing lower than normal before aerating? I have GCI Cool Blue. Thanks.
Dang Pete you was making me dizzy I did my lawn last Friday afternoon then laid down my fertilizer Saturday morning then mowed last night for 6th time for the year
You peaked my interest when you mentioned using Velocity. Where are you going to spray it?
Man that is nothing but trouble.....for my wallet! That is some fast core aeration! Git it brother! Not sure if you or the team saw my comment. Looking forward to what you have to say about Velocity PM and availability! Since POA is a type of bluegrass, and Velocity may harm desired KBG, please let us know if the varieties in current and previous versions Blue Heat are susceptible! 💪
Pete, what’s your experience with sulfentrazone damage to fescue? Turned mine a dark brownish color. How long does it usually last? Thanks!
Pete's loosing some weight! Cuttin the soda out will do it
I think I got poa from using a rental aerator last couple of years. I didn’t have until I started renting a aerator
Hey Pete, quick question. My lawn is starting to get leaf spot/melting out disease and I was wanting to put down some azoxystrobin this weekend. Here in middle TN we're in for some cooler temps at night the next few nights. High 30's to middle 40's. Will azoxystrobin still work if applied when night time temps that low? Any advice would be appreciated.

Absolutely put it down. Dose of nitrogen also. Water it in also

@jordankane2606 thanks so much for the reply. Kinda unusual to get temps this low around here this late in the season as it's been in the 80's for two weeks now and I wasnt sure if the azoxy was still effective with temps that low. I'm trying to stay ahead of it before it gets worse.

Pete, do you plan on ever going back to reel mowing, or is there just not enough time for that?

It’s possible. But you are correct sir it takes so much time

Reel attachment for Ventrac?!

@@ericnoland6466 I still have it. I’ll probably mow the rye at the shop some with that. Problem with getting it home is I have to haul it if I want to use it at home and I simply don’t have the extra time to do that on a regular basis
This just makes me want to get rid of my z aerate 30 more 😩

You won’t be sorry!
Curious how much one of those ride on core aerators cost, would love to try and get one for the high school i work at. Im sure it would pay for itself, we could use it at the 10 other schools in our district. Right now we have a 20 year old push one.

Best to find a dealer or call stinger direct

@@GCITurf Enjoyed your walker mower review. We've been using them for about 25 yrs now. Upgraded as years went on. I just recently though last year talked them , the district into buying a mulching deck for the walker. Well worth it. Puts nutrients back, cuts costs in hauling clippings off , cuts time and manpower. Takes half the time. Maybe you could review the aerator attachment for the walker.
I don’t aerate because doing so breaks the preemergent barrier. The cores bring up the dormant weed seeds to the surface.
Why core aerate when you also have a arevator with your ventrac?
@GCITurf
Ай бұрын
Because I was using the Ventrac in a different job this week and did not have time to bring it home and take it back to the shop and I already had the stinger at the house. I like to rotate out the equipment as I show different ways to do things in the yard.
