I've heard that the Special Stage X track was designed loosely from the Expressways of Japan, and particular those between Narita International Airport, heading west to the Port of Chiba, and Tokyo Bay. One end of the loop would include the Tokyo Aqua Line, (bridge and tunnel) which crosses Tokyo Bay in Chiba. This route would also pass by the Tokyo Skytree, which a form of is featured on the track. Scaled down, this could be the inspiration for the entire circuit, but I guess only the Polyphony devs would know for sure. Also, the radio telescopes could be based upon Misasa (JAXA) Tsukuba Space Centre, built in this era to replace the Msuda Centre, and not too far away from Narita Airport (by scale). In any way, Special X seems very much an ode to Japanese high speed roads, incorporating some famous landmarks with a twist.

tbh I was hoping that something like that would happen when they said they had CFD in the physics model, but they don't seem to bother with it half the time. Like, I only think the CFD is used on 'real' mode, and even then theres a lot more collisions than irl which makes it difficult to tell if it matters. It seems like it might but tbh part of why its in nascar anyway is the massive drag those cars produce, especially with the spoilers on them. most races like this people use wings instead if they have any overbody downforce, much better L/D and overall drag anyway
Dude this brings back such good memories of GT6 racing at 300 mph in our R35s and TZ3s. Back then those were like the fastest road cars in a straightline and slipstream in GT6 was just so comical and the races all came down to who timed their NOS perfectly haha.

Probably wouldn't work, but might have been kinda funny picking the Mazda and using all the NOS at the start. Then see how long it takes for everyone to catch up.

Take into consideration the vector of the wind, it heavily affects the slipstream area by its speed and direction. The farther back you are the more adjustment to the side you need to apply, the closer to perpendicular to your vector of movement is.
@OrbitalGirl
Жыл бұрын
tbh I'm surprised thats such an issue, they're over 270, it should be a fraction of a degree difference in the direction when the wind speed is less than 10 mph, even if its perpendicular to the direction of travel
@kresimircosic9035
Жыл бұрын
@@OrbitalGirl You can clearly see the wind effect at such speeds when there is rain, Mulsanne straight is a good example.
The key to the AMG is to be as smooth as possible with the steering, the rear wing pops up if you are not smooth as butter and you drop a couple of mph, stay as high as possible on the banking aswell. im in 96th position on the fastest lap challenge using a controller is not easy being smooth lol.

They should make fuel into a factor of the race. Either push hard and pit for lap 2 ( 2 laps race ) Or save fuel to go to the end!

This is why I don't underestimate "stock" car racing in an oval. But good luck to me having Europeans agree with me. I think the majority would rather joke about it.

Awesome race!! Old fashioned fun 😅
Pull-in and pull-out game level 69/10
It's funny the first few times this race appeared, it was more of a joke. But you really do explain and analyze many elements of it and, I guess, this is kind of what NASCAR is about? It's psychological and all about timing, rather than straight up racing lines and corner entry/exit.
The start of the second race is pretty much Super GT doing his best Jackson Storm impression.
Winning by 0.033 against a guy called two threes is just great
the third race ending had me laugh out loud, look at the name of the second place contender, then look at his delta to leader (SuperGT, obviously)...you just cant make that stuff up :D

This makes me think of Nascar races at Daytona & Talladega
Like with all oval races, like Daytona and Talladega fot example, timing is key, patience is crucial and drafting is a must
love these races, the jostling for position and team work but self work so good
Bro this feels like modern formula e where like 90% of the race is just drafting but that final power filled 10% is where the exciting stuff start happening
I'd be interested to see what would happen if you used all the NOS right at the beginning in the RX7
That looks cool, definitely got the 1st races nos wrong, you finished with a whole 3rd of your nos still unused, that's lap time just sitting in a bottle being carried across the line. Really enjoyed the content.

I actually find this form of racing to be quite interesting, like Talladega but longer. It requires strategy in both driving and tuning, which is fun to see put in action. I wouldn't mind an entire game mode dedicated to this, maybe called Streamlining or something?
when a Brit finally realizes why us Americans love NASCAR
Raced on this track for the first time last night (I know, I know) and it was some of the most fun I've ever had. It took me a minute to get a hang of the drafting but man did GT ever nail it. Came out of the last corner perfectly in 3rd as the 2 players in front of me were fighting for position; came out of their draft just in time to take the win. Amazing track for being so "simple" because one wrong move and it's literally over. I mean I guess that's how it is with every track but I feel it more so with one because the speeds are insane.
I really enjoyed my cameo in Race 3! GT-R had poor acceleration but glad I made the cut!
Looks like the Autobahn

Quick story: I'm DS rated so I am in a bad lobby. I am slow but very polite. My fellow racers did a lot of weaving around to break the slipstream. You know, like a dude in 10th was weaving around to stop me from bump-drafting him back to the front group. So we could all just fall further and further behind. I assume I was called a shameless rammer. Noobs. I can't wait for Forza 8 so I can just expect constant stupidity.
Super GT transcending reality with that new classic ventriloquist live commentary
Absolutely amazing ventriloquism skills on display here, I had no idea. What can't you do Steve?
Reminds me of an older Forza, running “nascar” stock cars around a 3 mile oval. Just pure bump drafting, intense but fun.
Was just watching your superformula video again, great timing.
Something you did I don't think you noticed was when you used your nos at the end you cut up the track to force the guy on the outside farther outside. That pretty much secures that you get 1st place slip stream by just coming back down the track. If you didn't force him up you two probably would've hit trying for the slip stream. Great race!
Entertaining as always and I stayed awake through the whole thing. 😉 But seriously, is the Fanatec bundle open to the States? Nothing happens when I click to sign up.
I used to play this race in GT6 at night time. Amazing!
I would love this race considering I mostly do nascar racing, working the draft and building up runs is my bread and butter 🙌🏼 this is basically nascar without restrictive plates, love it.

Running 30 min enduros with Nsacar Stock Cars tuned was always a BLAST with good friends who were nuts.
Always fan of meme race
I always learn so much when I watch your videos
These are so intense! It’s such a chess match and then it’s a free for all right near the end.
“Doesn’t resemble any type of race out there”😂😂 NASCAR is literally just a bunch of drafting in straight lines
I don't know if people remember, but back when GT6 was around on PS3. There was a name for such a race and it was called (Club 300) it meant you were only allowed to race if your car was able to reach 300+
So according to my calculations the Mercedes reached a fuel economy of about 75.7l/100km or 3.1mpg Based on the distance of 20miles and that the fuel gauge showed 3/8 of the 65l tank being empty
These races are pretty fun if you don't have a demolition derby lobby Did 3 attempts, my best result was p3 with the supra 😆, finish p7 with the vette and pagani
