The fastest method to draw sewer profiles in AutoCAD from a hydraulic model using infraWizard add-in

Ғылым және технология

This video illustrates the fastest method you can ever use to draw longitudinal profiles in AutoCAD or Civil 3D for a sewer network, which can be for a sewage/foul water drainage network, storm water drainage network, or any kind of wastewater collection and drainage networks.
The video shows you can quickly import your hydraulic model in SWMM format to AutoCAD or Civil 3D using infaWizard add-in. The SWMM format is used and exported by many hydraulic modeling applications, such as EPA SWMM, PCSWMM, InfoSWMM, Bentley SewerCAD, Bentley SewerGEMS, and many other hydraulic modeling software programs.
With infraWIzard, you can import the model in a few seconds, then use the smart feature of infraWizard which automatically classifies the network pipes into continuous lines based on the network hierarchy or based on the manhole names, so you can draw all lines directly without making manual selection of each line on screen.
The video shows an example for drawing more than 100 sewer profiles for a sanitary sewerage network in a record time of less then one minute.
The same method can be used to draw longitudinal profiles in AutoCAD or Civil 3D for any sewage or storm drainage network, and even to draw longitudinal profiles for pressure water networks like potable water supply networks, water transmission lines, irrigation water networks, and firefighting water networks.

Thank you very much. How can I add a surface to this program?

Hello Bashar. When you use infraWizard with Civil 3D, you can directly use the surfaces in your project to pick ground levels at nodes and to draw the ground line in profiles. The best method to do this is to assign the Civil 3D surfaces to the network as primary and secondary surfaces through the ‘Manage Networks’ panel. You can watch the tutorial video part 10 at this link kzread.info/dash/bejne/ipNlrLdxh7ytpJM.html for more information about this topic.

Can I import a toposurface from Revit to InfraWizard to use as ground level (primary and secondary surface)? Can I import to SWMM the drainage network from InfraWizard to run the hydrology analysis?

The topo surface should be imported to the Civil 3D file that contains your infraWizard project, so that you can use it with infraWizard. If there is an exchangeable format that can be exported from Revit and imported to Civil 3D; e.g. LandXML, you can do this. There is no direct method to import an infraWizard network to SWMM. You can however export network data from infraWizard in the format of text files and use these data to manually update the SWMM model.

Is the infrawizard design sewer automatically or just draw?

Hello Mohammed. InfraWizard doesn’t carry out the hydraulic design of networks. It is used for design tasks that follow hydraulic design. Using infraWizard, you can import the output of hydraulic design in the format of shapefiles, text files, SWMM, or EPANET. Then you can coordinate networks at crossing points, make edits to pipe sizes and levels, and produce longitudinal profiles and 3D BIM model for your networks in a very efficient way.

Hello Sreejith, You need to install infraWizard plugin to get this additional functionality. There is a free edition from infraWizard which is fully functional with 250 pipes limit per project. You can download directly here infrawizard.com/store
