    I think he goes 4:02, can't wait to see him. During this time in sport media of France : "Léon Marchand ? Let's make a special report on this tennis player ranked 150th".

  • @sylvainguinepain5624
    @sylvainguinepain5624 Жыл бұрын

    4:02 was my prediction too after the NCAA. His underwater are spectacular but there are half as many walls in LCM. Having said that he swam 4:11 at the olympics at only 18 and dropped 7 seconds the next year. He improved a lot in the year after that too. He broke so many French records it's unreal. France may get a medley relay medal if Leon is allowed to swim two legs..

    I think he goes about 4:02 high-4:03 low, I think his 4:04 was a perfect race, his 400 at NCAA 2022 wasn´t, that´s why we were so shocked by that time. Yards swimming is totally different to LCM and he relies massively on his underwaters. Also it´s important to note that improvement isn´t always linear, just because he dropped so much last year, doesn´t mean he will do it again this year. That being said I want him to destroy both IM world records and maybe go under 4:00 one day

    Also In France he most likely grew up swimming LCM so i would say he is pretty comfortable in those events.

    Mostly everyone talks about swimmers, but we have to mention and always remember the coach. Bob Bowman is definitely the genius, if Leon’s past coach couldn’t fully open Leon’s abilities and Bowman did it for one year. Im not saying his past coach was bad, but to progress on this level of racing speed is phenomenally hard. Just think, almost 8 seconds for 400 IM for one year, if I’m right, even Michael have never done the same progress just for one year. Impressive work of athlete and coach by Leon and Bob. He definitely can swim 4.02.80 I guess.

    It's crazy how different Leon swims the 400IM to Phelps yet they are both right up there in the history books. Phelps' effortless fly into an underrated back ending in an unreplicatable free is amazing. But equally so, Leons awe inspiring breastroke leg once that fatigued! Cant wait to see the record broken.

    I would say about this summer : 4'02.10 (400 im). And 2'05.60 (200m breastroke) at the French championships or in Fukuoka if he decides to swim it there (which might be risky with the schedule of the 200m im).

    Ms. King is right about M. Marchand: he has the gifts and the mental focus. As Ms. King so famously said, it's better to lose from the front and Marchand is figuring out how take it out fast and maintain. Exciting times. As for the waterdrop, don't try this at home kids, but also don't put one in a glass of champagne. Ask me . . . .

    I say 4:01.high. I think he will eventually break 4. hes still a sophomore. he still has 2 years at ASU. I dont know how much he trains long course but I'd imagine not so much since hes in the US. Also what abt his 100 breast? he may be nowhere near peaty longcourse, but he could verywell be the next person under 50 and eveb break ian's ncaa record. He was literally sub 50 in his relay split and his ability to take out his 200 breast (WHERE HE WAS "TIRED") in a 50. is insane. We already knew he had the back half from his 200 breast and 400IM and now with his insane sprint breast capabilities as well (22.27????) i think if he swims it next year, hes yoinking that 100breast record too.

    The only improvements I see on making LCM is that he could drop i think 0.7 on the backstroke(backstroke looked way better then last year) then 1.0 on the free with the fly and breast the same as last year which will be a big ask because his swim was sooooo perfect would mean about 4:03 low/4:02 high

    3'59 his underwaters might have got a little faster but still same distance per lengths as last year so as his backstroke has dramatically improve however i am sure they will work more on freestyle coming home as you take it out with such speed lactate builds up dramatically apparently thats his way of race taking it out. 54"0 1'01'"5 1'07"4 57"0 (3'59ish)

    I think worlds are not that important to Leon..Olympics at his " home turf" is what he is aiming for. I think 4.01 high this summer.. I also think he may swim the 400 free in Paris.. Olympic events..4Im. 2Im..4free..2breast..then either 2 free or 1breast..he can't do the 2fly as it is back to back with the 2breast..

    I think Leon will be the first person to break the 4:00 barrier. Not in 2024 probably, but at some point in the near future (since 400IM is a young man's game, and given his prowess in the 200s of stroke, he probably will give up the 400IM at some point, like MP).
