Probably a tomentosa. Those are invasive outside of asia, so you shouldn't plant that variety in the US or europe

I can clarify because I've seen it confirmed in many websites; the tree shown here is Paulownia tomentosa and not a hybrid.

So I heard about this tree and took 4 cuttings from a big one near the town hall. And now what? Do I keep them in a vase until they root and plant them out next year and cut them down so they do their 4m magic? What kind and how much fertilizer do I need to give?

Grow them from seed - it's easy - just place seeds in water and keep in the light for 10 days. Put the germinated seedlings in compost (this is fiddly as they are very small and their roots will become entangled with other plants if you leave them too long). Plant out once they are a reasonable size. The leaves drop during the winter. In the second (or later) winter, cut the tree down to no more than 30 cm from the ground. They will then shoot up straight. Each year remove low shoots to get a straight trunk without branching. Let us know how your cuttings have done.

Good presentation, fastest tree is a big claim. The Mountain Ash Eucalyptus regnans of SE Australia will grow 1m a year for first 100 years. In first few years can grow faster. Have got some Manna Gums growing that are 15 m tall at 10 years old. How fast or big does this tree grow?

I'm a bit confused about this time lapse. I thought Paulownia Tomentosa seeds are supposed to be sown on top of the soil. These seedlings were embedded in the soil. Can someone please help me better understand?

They just need light to germinate so since they were stuck to the side so they could get light it's fine.

This tree is the future yes it can be invasive but plantations control this issue something else very special about this tree is after 10 years and you cut it down it will regrow a further 6 times the benefits are so many do some more homework on it you will be surprised

It only spread because it's seed pods were used as packing peanuts on train cars. It doesn't spread particularly vigorously in most of the us
