The Fancy Way to Install a Leather Zipper
A long while back we did a full Zipper instillation video:
• How to Install Zippers...
This tutorial is a continuation on that video, showing you a fancier, more versatile way to install zippers in your leathercraft project. This method allows for zippers to be installed in any different area of a bag, pouch, or even large wallet bu using 4 panels for flexibility. It also can feature a full lining on the back if you're making a lined project! happy leather crafting :)

I've been learning for a few months now and starting to actually make bags. These tips are wonderful, especially because I like to reverse engineer stuff I see at stores and modify them. Adding different techniques like this is perfect. Thanks for your wonderfully helpful videos.

Great concise videos. You have easily become my favorite channel and inspired me to make my first bag. Keep it up! Cheers!
Once again you both put out a great tutorial! I love the look of that rolled edge too.

The first video I ever watched on how to make handcrafted bags was from your channel.. Loved the video! Have you considered doing a video on making a leather dice bag?
Q gran resultado me encanta el trabajo soy un aprendiz y tus consejos me van geniales!! Gracias desde España!!
This method is what I shall use in some leather utility bags I am making. I enjoy the rolled edge look rather than the original slot method I chose earlier.
Nice work, thanks for sharing.
Muchas gracias por compartir tu experiencia en marroquinería que me permitira mejorar en los acabados para el trabajo en cuero, saludos desde Lima(Perú).
Thank you! Good job on the public math! That is one of the world’s hardest things to do.
Excellent tutorial. :)

Parabéns pelo seu trabalho 👏🎉

Very informative thanks
Well explained, indeed fancy 😉
I’m making a zipper dice case for a friend going to be lining it like this!!!
Great video
Hey man, I quit biting my nails here recently. All I had to do was just tell myself that cravings of any kind only last 5 minutes. I was still tempted for a week or two, but that first night was the only difficult part. Your nailbed can totally regrow. I used to have almost no nail on my pinkies but now they're all nice and normal.
Thank you
Fantastic 🤗💯
Hi I’m always watching your video to learn more can you make a pattern of bible case 😊
Thanks
Hi, thanks for the video. Once you make that zipper, how do you actually install / attach it to the bag? Thank you!!
Thanks.
I like sewing zippers on my machine in fabric, just dipping my toes in the water with leather now and I can't wait till I can attempt bags with this style in leather. Edit: Hand stitching of course, not machine. I actually do my fabric zippers, (packs and sling bags), very similar to these as far as the top side. Except they get sewed before the folds then again as a top stich. But they look very much the same. (I realize the method I use is not necessary or practical in leather). Yours is a very pretty method for sure. I'm also playing around with "zipper garages". I'd like to see something classy like that in leather just because. Great tutorials BTW, I probably spend 2 hours a day watching your, and others, videos when I should be on my Sailrite actually working. 😅😇
How did you end the long stitch line under the cross pieces?
What is a good glue for these king of projects?
Which glue brand is that? Nice applicator
Will the leather at both ends get broken after long use as stopper?
Great
Just double check to make sure the mat has accurate lines. A cutting mat I've been using for years I just recently realized isn't accurate throughout the length of the mat. Luckily I didn't use them for any critical cutting but it would've definitely caused a problem if I did.
You can make the leather meet in the middle to make the zipper hidden ^_~

I've done that in fabric on some of my packs/ sling bags. I think that would look really slick with leather, you could ditch the metallic zipper pull and make a leather pull. This way it would fit cleaner and produce far less wear. Good idea 👍🏽
What kind of Glue are you Using?
Sick
How long does it usually take to ship to Australia? Just wondering as I purchased an item back on October 12th and haven’t received any updates :(
