@@OneNamelessHero I've moved several times since then. But nowhere feels like home as Tokyo once did. One terrible day... life there changed... people changed. Love and acceptance turned to hatred and vindictiveness. I had to move on in order to survive, but there has forever since been a hole in my being, soul, and heart that has never been filled. I've visited Tokyo and that corner several times over the years since, but always go to different places or take a slightly altered route as there are just too many ghosts of memory along the paths I used to take. Memories are everywhere in Tokyo. Memories of once happy times that were destroyed in an instant. Memories that are forever refusing to fade into the mists of time and forgetfulness. They still feel like yesterday all these years later.

@michaellovely6601
3 жыл бұрын
So would I. People who have been to Tokyo have said that it's amazing how the city has managed to successfully blend its traditional Japanese past with modern influences from the west. A prime example of this would be the Tsukiji Fish Market. Here; merchants and fishermen are busy trading the latest catch of the day, just as they have been doing for centuries. It's one of the city's many time-honored traditions that peacefully coexists alongside modern technology; an example of this peaceful coexistence would be the merchants slicing huge hunks of fish with free-standing electric knives.

Thanks so much. I have to tell you - a lot of time and effort went into it over years of touching it and then not touching it. I filmed my trips to the spot for 9 years - different angles, concepts, viewpoints and never knew what to do with all the footage. All the clips just sat on different hard drives. And then I heard a single piece of music about four years later and said to myself - "Wow....a quick collection of several angles all within a single minute to that music would be great." Then, I sent the music clip to an audio-engineer friend of mine and he duplicated the tone of it, changed a few things to make it his own original sound. One year after that, I uploaded it to KZread. 6 years later, it has nearly 1,000,000 views. Crazy how things happen, huh?

The Shibuya pedestrian crossing is basically Tokyo's answer to Times Square in New York City or Dundas Square in Toronto. I am more inclined to agree with both claims because the Shibuya pedestrian crossing in Tokyo and Times Square in New York are both big, bustling, and brightly lit up at night. However, I have yet to see what Dundas Square in Toronto looks like. I went on a trip to Canada last summer with my sister's family and we stayed in Toronto but we didn't get to go to Dundas Square.

If i had to choose where i want to go between New York and Tokyo, i would always choose Tokyo.
@michaellovely6601

1:00 Everyday, this man on the bike knows he has to run as fast as he could the moment it's green, before the other people just make the crossing impossible to cross with a bike.
i love how they have the crosswalks marked but people are like well im going over here and BOOM whole intersection is flooded lol also love how the drivers put pressure on the stragglers

I counted umbrellas - white/or clear 9 to 18 & black/or dark 3 to 7 for each day crossing. Security at night has up to 9 carrying those flashing wands.

What do you think the chances of Gojo jumping on my head are if i go to Shibuya on Halloween?
(jjk manga spoiler) Little do they know... a veil is forming...
I ran this crossing directly in the middle, what a weird experience that was. It felt the world was collapsing on yourself.
Nice job! I have to say that the Crossing doesn't disappoint - it's a must-do when visiting Tokyo.
at 0:39 I went in the starbucks but is was last year, there is a ramen place if you just keep on walking, there was also a cool part where on the ads it shows the people crossing by, but it would show them ass zombies like the one in Resident Evil

That crossing has the "diagonal crossing" system, meaning that the cars stops in each side. Imagine if that intersection dont have that crossing sistem and cars turning? NYC should have that diagonal crossing too.

No, no no my friend. The entire point is this crosswalk is to show you how the blend of continuous crowds and busy Tokyo traffic can meld together with incident 24/7. They don't want to 'fix' anything. It's to demonstrate their willingness to work together (people/cars/timing/traffic) and have it work beautifully every day of the year. Thanks for the comment, though!

That's one of the reasons I made the video. It's the largest crosswalk in the world. 3,300 people (on average) cross it every cycle. No different than the Japanese (and other cultures) coming to Washington D.C. to take a photo at the Lincoln Memorial. To some, it's amazing. To others (for whatever reason)...'Meh.'

Fantastic video. Beautifully put together. I have just subscribed. May I use the footage on my website? Many thanks. Gareth
