I used to wind surf in Egg Harbor back in the late 1980's. Door County is a US gem of a place to visit.

Had to watch this in memory of Viking grill. Heard it's closing and I'm sad I couldn't get there for a last fish boil.

Would have liked if my father in law was included in this video. He owed the Viking Restaurant before Dan Peterson. He was the one who actually built the fish boil business in Door County. Phil Voight.

If you didn't experience the fish boils at the Bay Shore Inn in the late 50's - early 60's, you missed a great experience. Their fish boil feasts were great down to the last morsel - including the home made lemonade to compliment the meal.

Excuse my ignorance, but im thinking that all the fish being boiled, don't they serve the broth? maybe add veggies and make it into a fish soup? For now, I will stick to fish soup and fish sticks lol.

They don't serve the broth, but they do put in veggies in before they add the fish. This way all of them get tender and have a flavor from the broth.

The Door County fish boil I went to was just mush and fish bones and fish skin. It was disgusting. I never went again. Fishy tasting stinky bony mush. Yuck.

I very highly doubt they leave skin and bones in the fish just for you to eat. Depending on what kind of fish it is and how it is prepared, sometimes the fish has to be cooked with the skin and fat on or else the meat will dry out. And dried fish meat tastes horrible. That is why people are supposed to scrape the skin off with a fork when they eat fish (such as grilled salmon). I am guessing you do not eat fish that often seeing as how the vast majority of people eat fish with the skin on (unless it is deep fried).
