    Brilliant movie. Strong message that I'm sure many teens can relate to given the trauma of school shootings and the prevalence in the US. I loved Mia and Vada's relationship/friendship. The chemistry between them is off the charts, very well done.

    Ugh! I've lost count of how many times i've read comments like yours. I'm not trying to minimize or take away from the trauma and fear that the new generation has to face, but school shootings aren't a new problem. It's been going on for decades. I was at the end of my junior year of high school when Columbine happened. I remember kids calling in bomb threats as a joke just to get out of school. It happened so much that the school quit evacuating us to avoid scaring us. The bomb squad were just called and they quietly searched the school while we were in class.

    @@joshburns4611 Yes, the last 3 decades have been when the whole "trend" of school shootings has popped up. But the last decade has been people shrugging at the shootings and is seen as normal, at the time of columbine it wasn't normal or just another shooting that people don't care about unless numbers are high.

    I just have to say that this movie was a masterpiece. And the cast were amazing, we have to dig deeper to really understand the whole picture. The chemistry was amazing between Ortega & Ziegler, but the sister bond with Lumi Pollack too. I was in shock of how good she was in such a early age.

  • @iguardian1
    @iguardian12 жыл бұрын

    I like anyone who has seen the movie thinks it's a wonderful piece. People talk about the Chemistry between Ortega & Ziegler which sells the film, but lest we forget Lumi Pollack (Amelia) the performance at times is gut-wrenching. As for Jenna Ortega, I'm looking forward to her role in Netflix's "Wednesday" where she's playing "Wednesday Addams" I think she was born for this role😍

    Great movie… the only issue was that dreadfully cringe moment where Mia texts her about that boy’s brother: “think he passed away 😭” lmao who the hell follows that message up with the sobbing emoji? That was the only part of the film I found absurd, but maybe because I’m a generation above gen-z I just don’t understand how that’s normal to them.

    I´m pretty sure most ppl didnt understand it either lol It was very abrupt. I think that the end was supposed to show that there are so many shootings in the US, that by the time some victims start to recover slowly, another one happens and the same gut-wrenching story we saw in Vada and Mia repeats itself in the new victims. It´s like emphasizing on the fact that it is a constant problem and It also affects previous victims not only new ones. I dont know if I was clear, that was my personal opinion, although I would have liked a least abrupt ending, there were many storylines in the movie that were left hanging.
