  • @solsbricks

Thank you! I'm actually working on a full film continuing the series! Though it's taking some time. 🙏 That's so awesome, love it when new people join the craft! For most of my camera shakes, I just shake my camera as I'm taking the picture. Usually as the action happens and continue shaking the camera for the aftermath of the impact. Just mess around with it, and you'll eventually be familiar with it. Sometimes I also use visual effects and filters to add artificial camera movement. But yeah, it's not as impactful as practical camera work. Hope that was helpful advice 😅🤣 Thanks again for watching! 💙

This is..... I dont know how to say....... Its like Awesome, Phenomenal, Amazing, Gorgeus, Legendary, Spectacular in one! Wow! So smooth, and easy in and out is really great used! Camera movements are amazing, like in fight scene it gives some life to the battle! Practical effects are brutal! Lightning is super super cool and really help practical effects to get to their best look! Story is..... Fantastic, i never saw somebody made story thats like yours! Sol, this is magicly (if this is even a right word). I already shared this in my discord group so i hope it will get much more views! I hope your next stop motion will be as good as this one!

Sorry I'm late. That was quite the spectacle to behold. You did a great job with all your small static movements during dialogue scenes and your army building was quite impressive. There was a lot I liked about this animation, but I couldn't help but wish the ending was drawn out more with the whole battle with Ugravious and the fairy ladies. Feels like they were only in the story just so they could show up at the end to save the day super easily without struggle. Which imo, was a bit of a cliche route. I would have preferred Gauntler to die and have that give Charles a moral boost and have him slay the dragon himself. The pacing felt so fast and quick. The dialogue was sometimes really short and quick, but other times long and drawn out (which was good). I think the fight scenes needed that same treatment. Maybe for future reference, focus on 1 character or a group for longer periods of time during action sequences instead of all these super fast cuts to all these other things happening on the battlefield? I don't want to be overly critical of your work here, it was a creative choice you used for the story telling, and that's awesome, but the payoff for the end of this multiple part series felt like it was a bit underwhelming? If that's the right term. Like, it was super cool and had great cinematography and action at a few points, but the easing in and out between cuts & camera angles felt a little off. It's definitely just your unique animation style. For future reference, just try to slow down the action a little bit? A fast paced fight scene can be good as long as you can keep up with it, but if you're going to have super quick cuts and camera angle changes, u need to slow down some of the movements, or just have a longer cool down before the next camera cut? Maybe Im just talking out of my butt rn. I think you did an amazing job overall and I get you're still improving. With every animation you make, u get one step closer to becoming a pro. Keep up the great work ( and sorry for the nit picky analysis of the animation. The story was good)

Thank you Dave! Yes, overall with this series, everything is pretty quick. I do wish I had spent more time on the story telling and the overall pace of these films. By the time I hit Ep 4, I was already wanting to end the series because I had felt like the first 3 weren't quite good enough. So I may have rushed a few things. I definitely plan on more drawn out films with my upcoming Halo projects and for a future Pirate series which will basically be a continuation on KOTP and I can make it much better and more exciting than before! As always, I love your honest advice because all you want me to do is improve. If you didn't care about my progress, you would have simply said this was a perfect film. But given that I know you so well, I know that you'll always look for ways to help me improve and I appreciate that! 💙
