One thing the graphic novels did that I really enjoyed was when blister and Burn both died Blaze looked genuinely upset about being the one to survive and it seemed like she actually loved her sisters

Honestly, I couldn't agree more. Blister was my least favorite of the SandWing sisters, but I think that was because she was underutilized. I really wanted to see more content from her perspective rather than just having her appear and disappear for certain chapters-- I feel like that happened to all three of the sisters, but for some reason Blister just stood out to me the least even though she had so many fascinating traits and such a twisted way of thinking. It really should have been the opposite, but for a reason I can't explain, it wasn't.

I don't think the lack of screen time was the problem. The issue might have been the fact that we just didn't get to see much of her true character in the time that we DID get with her. I only think this because, if i remember correctly, Blister got the most screen time out of all the sisters, or at least affected the plot the most. Yet, it felt like we got a better understanding of Blaze and Burn, despite them not being as prominent.

Hopefully we'll get some winglets covering each of the three princesses and how they've handled the war especially during the early days of war.

I have a few theories as to what each of the sisters' Sand Kingdom would've breen... Blister: a place with secret police everywhere, and essentially a spy state Burn: an ultra-militaristic warmonger, basically the Scarlet-era SkyWings but even worse. Blaze: a country dominated by puppetmasters and other countries.

Perhaps if Oasis had picked a heir before she died it could have been avoided, at least somewhat. If they had knew who would be queen before, maybe they could have stopped focusing on the throne. Perhaps have had a better relationship with each other, as seen by Crystal, Snowfall, and Mink. But, Oasis did not have time before she died- she wasn't expecting it, and it started the war and they saw each other as their enemies for the throne.

Even if she had chosen an heir, I doubt the other two sisters would have cared. She was never going to pick Blaze or Blister, so there's a 99% chance she would have chosen Burn. Well, things would have *started* off okay during her reign, but Blister would be hiding in the shadows and plotting her sister's demise. Blaze honestly couldn't care less, although she would be mad that the "scary and mean" sister got the throne when she felt like she deserved it. That is, assuming Burn would have let either of them live. She would have definitely killed both-- Blister in order to prevent an assassination attempt or uprising, and Blaze just for the fun of it. But you are certainly right. They should have had a better relationship, and even though part of it stems from their natural personalities, this may have been prevented if there was a change in environment. Y'know, not living in a palace and hearing of death and betrayal every two seconds. Imagine a world where things were different. Though I doubt the personality changes would be this different, envision an alternate universe where the environment *was* right, and each princess could utilize her greatest abilities for the better. Burn could use her fascination with oddities in order to help study different creatures, mutations, and understand their world a little better. Blister could use her knowledge and persuasion skills to actually *help* by getting dragons to agree on peaceful means of ending conflict. And Blaze could spread her positivity around, encouraging dragons to stress less about the things they cannot control. If only.

If the Sandwing sister's didn't have greed for power the Sanding Kingdom might have been the strongest kingdom yet. And also the first one to not have a queen but a governing body, or a council (before the LeafSilk kingdom) Blister could possibly be smart enough to have this idea, but because of her greed for power it never happened. Blister could have made a proposal to her sisters that they rule the Sandwing tribe together, instead of separately. Blister would be the one overseeing the tribe, in charge of political problems within the tribe and the dragonet curriculum (education). Burn would be in charge of the army and protecting the tribe. Stopping any threat that may happen like dragonbite vipers, invading tribes, and dealing with the Talons of Power. She would also be in charge of weaponry, creating new weapons. Imagine dragons using guns. A possible technological advancement for the Sandwings and Pyrrhia. Plus anything new and weird goes to her. Blaze's case is iffy. She could be in charge of economics and the appearance of the tribe and doing the communications with other tribes and in charge of any Sandwing events. If the sisters were to rule together, the Sandwing Tribe would have been the strongest tribe, dealing with any problems, finding a solution (Blister), doing and solving it (Burn), and still able to maintain and fix the outlook of the problem (Blaze). Although this did not happen, it would still be an interesting topic to discuss about and how it would have effect the current timeline. How different would everything be. What would happen to the DOD, Qibli, Jade Mountain Academy, the whole second arc.

Very true! Without all of the chaos going on with the royalty, the SandWings genuinely could have been the most powerful tribe of the time. They had influence, money, and arguably the strongest military.

I really wish someone would write an AU Fanfiction with this concept.

As dense as Blaze was, I would have chosen her to be queen, if the prophecy was real and the dragonets chose one of the sisters. It could have worked out, if she had daughters soon after that would take over after her. If I had to choose any of the two other sisters, I think Blister. Maybe she'd be content for a while. But if the Eye of Onyx was always going to zap her, the last option would be Burn. Perhaps she'd only be as bad as Scarlet...

The entire war was honestly depressing. After reading book 5, specifically the graphic novels, the thing that hit me the most is where sunny and clay have to go through the mud wings dreams. Just seeing then dream of their own death in a battle they don't want to fight almost made me cry

I detest Blister. Being queen of the SandWings would never have been enough for her, she would have wanted to take over all of Pyhrria and probably Pantala as well. I think it's fitting that the trap she set for Burn involved snakes, because when it comes down to it, she's a snake herself.

I always thought it was kinda strange how Blaze was just barely mentioned in arc 2, I think we should’ve at least seen how she felt about Glacier dying, but instead the dragons just kinda.. forgot about her. Seems kinda unlikely that Tui forgot about her, considering Blaze was one of the sisters that the first arc revolved around

I think there was a scene (in book 10 I think? Maybe 6 idk lol) where whoever was the PoV character in that scene was thinking of how she was the 'silliest dragon they knew, and she didn't care that she wasn't a queen bc she had jewels? I think Thorn was there so probably 10. (Or maybe it was 5 if I'm wrong but idk) Please forgive me if I am wrong... but I think I'm right???

Blister could have ended up as either a great queen (to the sandwings at least) or she would have been horrible. There's really no in between. If any of them were to have become queen i think she would be the best bet.

I'm so glad Blister got what came to her. Even though Burn and Blaze would have been horrible queen's, I would prefer them for the throne any day over Blister.

I find Burn interesting it's quite obvious she's putting up an act I mean yeah she actually enjoys killing dragons but maybe people call her wrong and she doesn't actually enjoy the war. I mean by book five it's quite obvious she's bored and just wants to get it over with not to mention she didn't participate the battle on the SeaWings in book 2 don't you think someone who loved killing would want to participate in a mass genocide like event. Not to mention in book 5 it's unclear but I'm pretty sure she doesn't even want to participate in The siege against the Icewings she just want her allies to kill them so denying 2 genocides? So would she continue the war or so I ever been saying wrong? Not to mention her fear of scavengers building the wall that was designed to keep them out and we don't know it but I feel like she gave a side glare to Rose every single time they were in the same room. As for her final quote before she died sounding more scared than anything else calling for her mother it really does built her up to be a lot more of an interesting character than what people thought and personally I love to see more of her.

Tbh Burn crying for her mother before she died broke my heart a little bit even though I don't like her one bit. It was just really sad, even though she ultimately deserved it.

@@StrawThatBends yes she did I can remember it from the end of book 5 it may not be in a graphic novel for some reason. The graphic novel doesn't put much details in and I can't find a quote anywhere you think on the wiki would show a quote before they died. Well it went something like disbelief then she screamed "Mother!" Then she killed over and died but I haven't read book five in a while

This is was amazing, the explanation was so clear. I needed to hear this because of how important this was to the plot of Arc 1

I’ve been waiting for a video discussing about this.

I think it would've been interesting to have seen of how the sisters thought about the other members of their family. (Their father, brothers, aunts) And I think Blister and Burn were really cool antagonists. But I think it's stupid that literally all the protagonists just forgot that Blaze is just chilling in the palace with Thorn. Like everyone just accepted Blaze basically forfeited her right to the throne. Wouldn't it be weird for the former heir to just walk into the marketplace and buy food like she's a totally normal dragon? That must be humiliating for her! There should be a SandWing Sisters winglet where we get to see each of their PoVs

I can get why blister is the middle child lol! Anyways nice explanation this made me understand the sand wing succession more! New sub :3

Coral: trys to have daughters that surviv until adult hood but only 3 survive, 1 is to busy to be queen, another doesnt wanna be queen abd the last one is too young Queen oasis: gives birth to 3 demon goblin daughters that ALL SURVIVED...???

Hello... just wanted to say that, in my opinion, they were doomed primarily due to Oasis being their mom just as much as by their base personalities. I think Burn's final words compared to the others' made it quite apparent that Oasis REALLY wasn't playing fair. I personally think Blister (who recieved it the worst) would have actually been a somewhat decent dragon if she wasn't forced, by Oasis's paranoia, to be the exact sort of dragon Oasis was paranoid about. And who knows, maybe if Oasis actually TRIED, then maybe Blaze would have understood the responsibility enough to (most likely) understand that she's not cut out for it, in which case, she would probably be the mediator. And, of course, we can't forget what was revealed that time Burn showed legitimate weakness, that she was taught to depend on Oasis almost all the way (only for Oasis to be yanked away from her on that one night). So I, personally, blame Oasis when it comes to the war. She played favorites and, as a result, her three daughters suffered for it.

Like... it's become a bit of a meme that WoF dads almost always suck; however, Oasis was an example of REALLY bad mom. She may or may not have been as bad at it as Scarlet or (yes, I dare accuse her of it) Coral, but she was still pretty bad when it came to her dragonets (and not just the princesses).

Hopefully! A good thing with Blaze being queen is that she could peacefully work out some kind of other way of leadership. I'm sure Glacier could coach her on how to be a queen, and she could always have given the throne to someone else down the line when she realized it wasn't exactly what she was expecting.

When I first read Wings of Fire, (this is my opinion) I loved the part where it sorta said 'of three queens who blister, blaze and burn two shall die, and one shall learn, if she bows to the fate she'll have the power of the wings of fire' I loved this PART cause the 'wings of fire' part brought me to the books name itself, I was disappoined to find out it was Thorn but it made sense (no hate on thorn) but Blaze is one of my fav characters but she'd be a terrible Queen

Something I just realised is that the tribes the three Sandwing sisters ally with really show their character.. Burn allied with the Skywings and Mudwings, two of the most physically powerful tribes. Burn is also shown to be an excellent fighter and to prefer brawn over brains/beauty. Blister took it smart and allied with the two Animus tribes, Seawings and Nightwings. It is also shown that Blister is brains-over-brawn/beauty and likes to be cool and calculated. She also most likely believed Nightwings could read minds and see the future, so she thought that could give her a powerful edge. Blaze allied with the Icewings and probably made atleast one attempt for the Rainwings, as Icewings are a pretty tribe, being shown to be sparkly and iridescent, yet elegant at the same time. Blaze is also shown to care about her appearance and parties more than anything else, being beauty over brains/brawn. Overall, I think that Tui took a lot of time figuring out what tribe would ally with what sister, and that's a great insight I never thought of until I realised Blister had just allied with the Animi!

Should I go back and read all the books or just the two I haven’t read, book 12 and Dark Stalker

Whenever i catch myself wishing the war never happened I remind myself that tsunami would probably have died because of orca's statue and the dragonets of Destiny would probably never have happened and the band would never even happen

Tbh I honestly wish there was more of Blister. She was such a cool character but she died so quickly. If only she had been in book 4 maybe? Like if she had to sorta raise the false dragonets with Morrowseer? She had so much evil and potential. And she’s like my 4th favorite character (after Scarlet, Coral, Snowfall). She was so clever, intimidating, and dangerous. I wish!!!!

MY OWN PERSONAL OPINION HERE Burn is my favorite and Blaze is my least favorite I honestly just found Blaze kind of annoying because of her lack of a brain and although I agree that she definitely had the most heathy relationship with her allies, considering just how toxic the other sister’s ally relationships were this one is really only on the higher side of the grey area. Glacier only helped Blaze because of the land she promised and because the kingdom of sand was the only kingdom right next to the ice kingdom and so wouldn’t have a neighboring threat. Blaze although being the only one that wasn’t cruel, was very self-centered and oblivious. This is why I don’t ship Glacier x Blaze, I ship Glacier x Jerboa lll instead. Blister, I had mixed feelings about, I feel like she was at her best written in book 2. The subtle hints in how she interacted with Coral really showed her manipulation pretty well. But she got worse as the arc went on, namely when despite being the smart one she ran for the eye of onyx and got herself killed. However, she could have gotten desperate for the throne and was in a state of denial that she deserved the throne. Or she didn’t think anyone would let her be Queen if she didn’t get tested by the eye and would rather dye than not be Queen anyway. Burn isn’t my favorite villain of the series, but she is definitely my favorite of the three sandwing sisters. I think has the most depth to her, which I find interesting, I’m mostly talking about her having a soft side for her mom. As the video mentioned, Burn was Oasis’s favorite and they actually got along with each other. I think the fact that Oasis really wasn’t worried about Burn killing her and the fact that Burn never challenged her despite the fact that it would probably be easy for her says something. I’m pretty sure Smolder said that when they found the Queen’s body Burn was enraged and was the one who lead the attack against the scavengers den (or village? City?). There are also a moment when the scavengers come into the area and Scarlet makes a mention of her mother and Burn gets angry. Burn is a strong and merciless dragon. She starts off strong and continues to be an imposing and well established threat. Her love of mutalation(butchered that one) and oddities works really well with Sunny being the main protagonist in order to raise the terror for the finale. Here I am at 8:00 am writing a three paragraph long analysis and review of a group of villains in a children’s book that not that many people are going to read, this is why people don’t understand how I spend my free time. What is normal? I don’t understand the question. If you read to the end, thank you for listening to one of my needlessly complex and long thought processes that I decided to type out.

All of the sisters weren't fit to be Queen. Although is it a coincidence that all 3 female dragonets were/became royalty? Tsunami the lost princess, Glory a secret princess then becomes Queen (Of 2 tribes), Sunny, her mother becomes Queen🤔🤔

Rainwings definitely had to stay out of the war, if they were a violent tribe, whoever they joined would've almost definitely won. Really, though. An almost unmatched ability to take prisoners, almost perfect stealth capabilities, death spray, etc. I assume that if this did happen, the opposing sides would have joined together to fight against whatever side had that superweapon of a tribe
