I love that Mike Flanagan always likes to use the same actors from his previous shows. It really pushes the actors' acting range and it is so fun watching them act differently than their previous characters.

I've loved horror for a long time but Flanagan introduced my favorite version of it; horror with a heart. It made me realise how any horror is overcome by being made meaningful , and when done so, has the capacity to heal the most damaged parts of ourselves. Monsters are not just monsters, they're mirrors, teachers and, in their own twisted right, healers. No one does a better job of showing us how than Flanagan

I used to be afraid (DEATHLY AFRAID) of horror and would avoid all things horror like a plague. And then The Haunting Of Hill House came out and it unlocked something in my brain. Now anything Flanagan is a MUST SEE. And I’ve actually gone back and watched numerous old horror flicks for fun and now have a greater appreciation for the genre. It’s not scary anymore. It’s art! I love how Flanagan single-handedly created some sort of Flanagan-verse. A movie world within movie world, and its got everything to do with him casting more or less the same group of actors. It creates some sort of familiarity and intimacy, like the one you might have with your favourite city theatre company. And I must say that Mark Hamill is a brilliant addition, I hope you stickes around.

Great limited horror series interweaving our modern-day opioid crisis with a certain pharmaceutical family and company with Poe's stories. Love Carla Gugino, with her pre-death blow dialogues with the characters. That mirror death scene on the bed and orgy death scene in the club were iconic horror. THIS. I’ve read of lot of criticisms of this for not adhering strictly to the source material, but I think they’re missing the point. I doubt this will be any different.

Where’s the thrill in an ending already written and experienced? These are horror thrillers. One reason i love mikes shows is he likes to use actresses and actors from his previous works. I loved his previous characters so I love to see them together again, even if they’re in different roles now

That Henry Thomas guy. Different shaped face, voice changed, movements, cadence. Quite a character actor. ( his Jack Nicholson was incredible too )

I wonder how much this will relate back to the original story its based on? I love Mike Flanagans adaptions but I also do slightly miss some of the gothic elements. Not enough moodily crumbling, vaguely sentient houses. But I’m sure the character drama will be fantastic ❤
