And now they hear their call to prayer in our most sacred of holy churches, 5 times every day. A humiliation of this kind should rattle at the very foundation of Christendom - to its very core and within its very heart. The genesis of a truly remarkable generation of men is the only hope for us and our civilisation. For our people.

Considering that the defenders were some 7,000 Byzantines vs 80,000 Ottoman Turks, and they held them off for 53 days, is impressive by any military historian’s standards, despite the amateur naysayers. The Turks had a large bronze siege cannon called the Dardanelles gun cast by a Hungarian (Christian) foundry man and mercenary named Orban hired by Mehmed II (I’m a metallurgist, and have extensively studied how this artillery piece was cast in pieces with internal threads for disassembly to aid in maneuvering the piece in the field, and they used it to batter down the walls of Constantinople, while the defenders repelled the Turks, and made makeshift repairs to the walls). Western Christianity did nothing to assist in the defense, save for a small contingent of Italian mercenaries. Considering how off the rails western Christianity is today, none of this surprises me, even back in the day.

I dont expect everyone to be a historian of sorts but its madness how few know of at least some of the major events that led us to where we are today. Hell cant even get people to understand what led to 911 let alone fall of Rome or ongoing mess of the protestant reformation.

Catholics dehumanize the orthodox in 1204 AD CONSTANTINOPLE attack : An indiscriminate slaughter commenced. The invaders spared neither age nor sex . In order to render themselves safe they set fire to the city( Constantinople) lying to the east of them, and burned everything between the monastery of Everyetis and the quarter known as Droungarios. So extensive was the fire, which burned all night and until the next evening, that, according to the marshal, more houses were destroyed than there were in the three largest cities of France. The tents of the emperor and the imperial palace of Blachern were pillaged, the conquerors making their headquarters on the same site at Pantepoptis. It was evening, and already late, when the Crusaders had entered the city, and it was impossible for them to continue their work of destruction through the night. They therefore encamped near the walls and towers which they had captured...... Then began the plunder of the city. The imperial treasury and the arsenal were placed under guard ; but with these exceptions the right to plunder was given indiscriminately to the troops and sailors.....The lust of the army spared neither maiden nor the virgin dedicated to God. Violence and debauchery were everywhere present; cries and lamentations and the groans of the victims were heard throughout the city; for everywhere pillage was unrestrainedand lust unbridled. The city was in wild confusion. Nobles, old men, women, and children ran to and fro trying to save their wealth, their honor, and their lives. Knights, foot-soldiers, and Venetian sailors jostled each other in a mad scramble for plunder. Threats of ill-treatment, promises of safety if wealth were disgorged, mingled with the cries of many sufferers. These pious brigands, as Gunther aptly calls them, acted as if they had received a license to commit every crime. Sword in hand, houses and churches were pillaged. Every insult was offered to the religion of the conquered citizens. Churches and monasteries were the richest storehouses, and were therefore the first buildings to be rifled. Monks and priests were selected for insult. The priests' robes were placed by the Crusaders on their horses. The icons were ruthlessly torn down from the screens or were broken. The sacred buildings were ransacked for relics or their beautiful caskets. The chalices were stripped of their precious stones and converted into drinking cups. The sacred plate was heaped with ordinary plunder. The altarcloths and the screens of cloth of gold, richly embroidered and bejewelled, were torn down, and either divided among the troops or destroyed for the sake of the gold and silver which were woven into them. The altars of Hagia Sophia, which had been the admiration of all men, were broken for the sake of the material of which they were made. Horses and mules were taken into the church in order to carry off the loads of sacred vessels and the gold and silver plates of the throne, the pulpits, and the doors, and the beautiful ornaments of the church. The soldiers made the chief church of Christendom the scene of their profanity. A prostitute was seated in the patriarchal chair, who danced, and sang a ribald song for the amusement of the soldiers.......The sack of the city went on during the three days after the capture......A proclamation was made throughout the array that all the booty should be collected, in order to be divided fairly among the captors. Three churches were selected as depots, and trusty guards of Crusaders and Venetians were stationed to watch what was thus brought in. Much, however, was kept back, and much stolen......When the Latins would take Constantinople ,they held the shield of God before them. It was only when they had entered that they threw it away, and covered themselves with the shield of the devil..........The pillage of the relics of Constantinople lasted for forty years. More than half of the total amount of objects carried off were, however, taken away between the years 1204 and 1208. During the few days which followed the capture of the city the bishops and priests who were with the Crusaders were active in laying hands on this species of sacred spoil;.......The holy cross was carefully divided by the bishops for distribution among the barons. Gunther gives us a specimen of the means to which Abbot Martin, who had had the German Crusaders placed under his charge, had recourse. The abbot hadlearned that many relics had been hidden by the Greeks in a particular church. This building was attacked in the general pillage. He, as a priest, searched carefully for the relics, while the soldiers were looking for more common place booty. The abbot found an old priest, with the long hair and beard common then, as now, to Orthodox ecclesiastics, and roughly addressed him, " Show me your relics, or you are a dead man.".....He opened an iron safe, and the abbot, in his delight at the sight, buried his hands in the precious store. He and his chaplain filled their surplices, and ran with all haste to the harbor to conceal their prize..... Book: The fall of Constantinople Author: Edwin Pears Edition: 1886 Page:347 to 374

In our belief, there is no earthly affairs. No need to be partizan under God's name. I live in İstanbul. And nothing would change in God if the name would be Constantinapole or something else. Remember our temple is the Messiah, our homeland is the heavens, our people is believers. There is no discrimination also no politcs in God. Love you all Regards from İstanbul/Turkey ✝️🇹🇷

Igor, we, Orthodox, have many Serbian God-bearers (Saints) to give glory for. This one, however, is not one we give thanks for. He was a uniate traitor to the one true Faith. The barbarians attacking Constantinople were about to give up, when one of their military commanders saw the glory of God depart from the City in the form of a shining cloud. He then went to the Sultan, reported what he saw & asked to attack one more time before they departed. His request was granted. They attacked & succeeded because our Divine protection was withdrawn from us because the empower, instead of trusting God, put his hope in the papalists, became a uniate, & the day before the fall concelebated with the papalists, bringing on the Fall of Constantinople.

I don't know how it would work, man, but if you mean by Constantinople(Today's Istanbul) and the rest of the Eastern Thrace becoming the city of Christians(Majority of the Turks in Today's Istanbul converting to Christians) again, then there might be possibility. ... if that's not what I understand, then my mistake. But if you tell me, that the city and its region would be reclaimed by the Greeks again, then in theory, it should be done by purchasing or annexation(in peaceful way, as expected), providing handsome compensation for the Turks to move out of the land, and relocating the remaining Ottoman buildings back to Anatolia, leaving only the Byzantine sites there where they belong, Theodosian Walls, Hippodrome, Hagia Sophia, Hagia Irene, Galata Tower. On the other hand, Greece must grow strong and be ready to do it, as it takes a lot of time, population, money, and votes.

Fraudulent and peace breaker emperor: Since Byzantium was essentially a vassal state of the Ottoman Empire, the Ottaman sultan often oversaw changes in leadership. When John VIII died on October 31, 1448 without an heir, his two brothers Constantine and Demetrios contested the Byzantine throne. While Demetrios, a fervent opponent of the west, had the support of the anti-Unionist faction in Constantinople, Constantine was significantly more popular both in the Morea and in Constantinople. In addition, he possessed the support of his mother, Empress Helena, which added overwhelming credibility to Constantine’s claim to the empire. However, since the Byzantines were technically vassals of the Ottoman sultan, Constantine agreed to submit the Byzantine succession to Murad-II ( Ottaman sultan at that time) for arbitration. Such an act of deference was extremely uncharacteristic of Constantine, especially because of his previous actions toward the Ottomans. On December 6, 1448, George Sphrantzes ( one of the chief advisor) led an embassy to Murad’s court, and Constantine was chosen as the Byzantine emperor. The new emperor hoped that his deference to Ottoman authority would help pacify the sultan while he deliberated on ways to combat the Turks. Once Sphrantzes returned from his embassy, the emperor sent Murad lavish gifts to commemorate a new period of peace between them. Through this episode, Constantine showed false obsequiousness toward Murad-II in order to mask his true anti-Turkish sentiments. This was shown through his attacks in Greece during and after the Crusade of Varna. ( Thesis: Foreign relations and the end of byzantium - the use of personal diplomacy during the reign of Constantine-XI Palaiologs. (1448-1453) Thesis submitted in University of Michigan on 2006 Author: Adam William Hellebuyck. Page:41,42 ) "Emperor Constantine XI’s actions toward the Turks while despot of the Morea (from 1443 to 1448) show that he preferred to take decisive, aggressive action against the Ottomans, and that his acts of deference were merely a stalling tactic. The emperor, while ruling southern Greece, was clearly anti-Turkish in his views and policies. Constantine’s earliest actions against the Ottomans coincided with the Crusade of Varna, launched from Hungary in 1444. The Byzantines learned of the crusade in 1443, when John VIII went on a hunting expedition with the Italian traveler Cyriacus of Ancona. The Greeks thought of the crusade in two ways. First, they believed that if the Hungarians could fight their way to Constantinople, the city’s immediate encirclement would be relieved. They could then concentrate on re-conquering Thrace from the weakened Turks. Second, the Greeks of the Morea, Constantine included, counted upon the crusade to provide a necessary distraction so that they could reoccupy portions of central Greece. The despot used the distraction that the Western crusaders provided to conquer several cities and towns from the Turks in Attica and Thessaly. The chronicler Doukas explains that Constantine “foresaw the total destruction of the Turks” during his campaign throughout late 1444 and 1445. While the despot ( Constantine-XI) made considerable gains early in the campaign, once the crusaders were defeated at Varna, the sultan could focus his attention upon the Greeks. Despite overwhelming numbers of Turkish troops, Constantine refused to return control of the conquered territories to Sultan Murad II. Instead, he prepared for battle at the newly refortified Hexamilion wall across the Isthmus of Corinth. The Byzantines of the Morea also placed more emphasis upon exploiting human weaknesses in siege warfare than upon technological advantage, since they did not possess the financial resources necessary to outpace the Ottomans in military technology. Therefore, the isthmus walls were built in a medieval fashion, and did not possess any defensive artillery to discourage an Ottoman assault. Constantine misjudged the quality of his fortifications, as Murad, using gunpowder artillery, smashed through them and routed the defenders. The Turks took over 60,000 prisoners, and Constantine barely escaped with his life. This episode shows Constantine’s tendency toward rash, aggressive actions against the Ottoman Turks even before his accession to the Byzantine throne. ( Thesis: Foreign relations and the end of byzantium - the use of personal diplomacy during the reign of Constantine-XI Palaiologs. (1448-1453) Thesis submitted in University of Michigan on 2006 Author: Adam William Hellebuyck. Page:44,45,46 )

Actually the last speech of King Constantine Palaiologos is saved and it was less on this Hollywood style. King Constantine was a middle aged man, rather old at his era, with wisdom and modesty but also pride for his Greek-Roman ancestry that is specificaly stated in his last speech. He knew he was outnumbered and the situation was desperate, but he was a man of honour and duty. He was more than once offered to hand over the city and declined in his words "the city is not mine to give" as the history of such a glorious crave of civilization could never be one man's and its end can be only worthy of its glory. And one last thing. I cannot imagine of soldiers shouting over such a man even in the middle of an inspiring speech, as the man was a respected emperor and warrior and -in reality- his phrases were not short and the meanings were somehow complex.

Psalm 79 O God, pagan nations have conquered your land, your special possession. They have defiled your holy Temple and made Jerusalem a heap of ruins. They have left the bodies of your servants as food for the birds of heaven. The flesh of your godly ones has become food for the wild animals. Blood has flowed like water all around Jerusalem; no one is left to bury the dead. We are mocked by our neighbors, an object of scorn and derision to those around us. O LORD, how long will you be angry with us? Forever? How long will your jealousy burn like fire? Pour out your wrath on the nations that refuse to acknowledge you- on kingdoms that do not call upon your name. For they have devoured your people Israel,a making the land a desolate wilderness. Do not hold us guilty for the sins of our ancestors! Let your compassion quickly meet our needs, for we are on the brink of despair. Help us, O God of our salvation! Help us for the glory of your name. Save us and forgive our sins for the honor of your name. Why should pagan nations be allowed to scoff, asking, “Where is their God?” Show us your vengeance against the nations, for they have spilled the blood of your servants. Listen to the moaning of the prisoners. Demonstrate your great power by saving those condemned to die. O Lord, pay back our neighbors seven times for the scorn they have hurled at you. Then we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will thank you forever and ever, praising your greatness from generation to generation.
