I find it really annoying that the Michael Jackson Estate - or at the very least whoever is running it - doesn’t just remaster existing works and release them. The iconic music videos were shot on film - where are the 4K releases? Where are the high end audiophile vinyl releases?

i’m glad you’ve made a video on this. as a huge mj fan, i do agree that those weren’t sung by michael. if you listen to a thriller song (or behind the mask - recorded during the thriller sessions) and listen to one of these 3 after, you’ll easily notice the differences. the vocal production is definitely different than what mj usually goes for. across his studio albums, you’ll notice the way different producers did his vocal production, there were similarities in them all. with these 3 casio tracks, the difference is noticeable. on top of that, the estate isn’t very bright so them taking them away definitely does shed more light on it. they don’t focus on anything the fans truly want such as new music and new content.

Yeah, especially if you listen to "Best of Joy" which was done sometime in 2009 and is believed that it would have been debuted on the This Is It tour, then to the three Casico tracks, which were said to be done in 2007, the difference is clear. Also, kinda disappointed that he didn't mention the lawsuit that has been going on for years in regards to these tracks, showing that this has been an issue for a long time.

As a huge MJ fan, the 3 tracks are 100% fake; what gives it away is the vibrato. Malachi’s vibrato is COMPLETELY different than MJ’s. I’m overall happy that they were removed as Sony is no longer attempting to pass off someone else as MJ

I dunno, I think the fact the vibrato is so off gives them a bit of credibility in an odd way. I mean, surely they would have noticed when putting the album together. The explanation was that the tracks were a mess and a lot of processing done to them.

  • @meetone

You are exactly right. The vibrato that Jason has is an uncontrolled rate and tempo. Michael always had the skill to use his vibrato with the tempo of the music and used crescendos artfully. I was disgusted with the fake and called it out the moment I heard it.

I listened to all 3 of these songs along with several others from the Michael album. Those 3 tracks are not him. There are a few differences, but the main one is the strained, breathy vibrato that's all over the imposters. Michael's vibrato was strong. Smooth. On albums, he never sounded like he was straining. That, and the imposter's voice was a slightly different timbre.

These three songs came from the same sessions, produced by MJ's longtime friend Eddie Cascio and his partner James Porte. These are all forgeries. This isn't a weak Michael Jackson vocal performance. This simply isn't Michael Jackson. His vibrato sounds totally different, there are no fingersnaps or foot stomps on the recordings, and even his dialect is different. Absolutely. The first time I heard Breaking News, which was the first teaser off of the album, I was shocked. There are plenty of unreleased recordings where he’s not trying very hard or the lyrics are unfinished (e.g. ‘In the Back’ or ‘Fall Again’) but you can still clearly tell it’s him. Especially when you listen to how Jason Malichi sounds, the penny drops. He does a great impression that’s for sure - he can even do the signature screaming tone pretty well, which added to why it divided fans for many years.

Big Streisand effect going on here. I never would've sought to listen to Michael Jackson today before this. Now I'm gonna go check them out, but on KZread because they're off Spotify. So not only is the label and Spotify drawing attention to the songs, they're not even gonna at least make the profit of me listening to them on their platform. Big L

The lawsuit initiated by Vera Serova brought some proofs. $ony was unable to demonstrate their authenticity, and were unable to provide the demos and a cappella recordings, contrary to their claims. On the contrary, Vera Serova's expert demonstrated that the voice and pronunciation did not match Michael's. The vibrato, in particular, is totally different and sounds like a goat. During his recordings, MJ snapped his fingers, tapped his hands and feet, and Bruce Swedien, his main sound engineer, set up a wooden podium so that his tapping would be amplified by a microphone directed to his feet during the recordings. The expert demonstrated that in the fake songs there are none. If you get the trial record you can read that $ony had to admit that there was a high probability that these songs were not sung by MJ but that they did not know who sang them (The fans know that it is jason malachi who sung). In clear, they are acknowledging things without really acknowledging them and clearing their name. MJ couldn't write these songs because he composed his songs vocally while recording them. As no demo exists with his voice it is the proof that he did not compose them. It is also important to say that even the MJ's family members have stated that this is not the voice of Michael Jackson.

It would be nice to see the estate celebrate his work through commercial releases such as Vinyls, Special Packages and even documentaries. Shame to see the low effort we have had since his death with only major releases such as Michael, Bad 25, Xscape and MJ One.

While I agree with the statement of how Michael had a versatile voice, I must disagree on one thing. Michaels voice didn't really get worse as he got older. He simply wanted to go for a different style. With his last few albums, he wanted to have a more "Rough" sound to them, as in albums like "HIStory" and "Blood On The Dance Floor" a lot of a tracks had a more dark theme to them, as he was attempting to defend his legacy from many of the vicious rumors around him. For his last 2001 album, Invincible, he slightly alleviated from the Dark Tone, to bring back his 80s, happy voice to tracks like You Rock My World, Heaven Can Wait, Break of Dawn, and Speechless. However, there is still a hint of his dark tone in the album, with tracks like Privacy, Unbreakable, and Threatened. And after Invincible, he wanted to take the blend of the 2 themes even further, and continued making demos. But the problem with the fake tracks, is that, the vocals sound like Mike from the 80s. Mike had moved on from that style of singing as early as the 90s, and he wouldn't really bring it back. So Jason Malachi does a great impression of Mike, but only Mike in his Thriller and Bad Era.

  • @BoringBrandon1

    @BoringBrandon1

    2 жыл бұрын

Yeah it’s odd to say his voice sounded rough especially if you listen to invincible . His vocals can sound soothe and 80s like like on break of dawn or rough like on 2000 watts. He was definitely trying out a new sound in the 90s and wanted to sound edgier

I truly believe that if the facts were fake, then the vocalist (presumed Jason Malachi), was setup here. I heard somewhere that Michael would have the demos written for him to be sung by someone with his vocal timbre, or falsetto, or good impression. There’s tracks/uploads from even back to 2007 that were credited to Michael (like Mamacita) that appear to be demos of this ilk. With the tracks removed, they were stated to have been done at his friend, Frank Cascio’s studio. However, timelines and explanations don’t really add up

Funny enough when that album came out I was like this really doesn't sound like Mr Jackson but I interpreted that to be a figment my eleven year old conspiratorial mind unable to discern because of a 2010ish approach of producing an album without the usual genius gatekeeper of Michael Jackson albums (the man himself). I however held on to the conspiracy because of his mother's comments. I started producing music at 12 and today 10 years later its nice to see that I wasn't bugging and a listen quickly clarifies to someone with a trained ear that this is hardly Michael Jackson. The closest vocals that one might use as a reference point is the thriller 25th remixes or even songs like 2000 watts were the aged Michael voice can be heard.

I know its insane to say the jackson estate needs to hype up his back catalogue but its the only reasoning I can imagine behind it. He has a long and profitable back catalogue but its value very much hinges on streaming since he's been banned from many many stations in a lot of different regions since leaving neverland. If you can control the direction of comversation and boost the numbers the sale price of his catalogue would be a lot higher.

Long story short, these songs were made by producer and composer Eddie Cascio supposedly with Michael on the year 2007. After Michael's passing, he sold three of these tracks to Sony for the posthumous release. Some years later, the album was sold on auction and later leaked to the public, so you can hear the rest of these 'suspicious' tracks and make your own conclusion.
