Games workshop act like fucking idiots, but let's not put this down to simply better because those clowns produce high cost 'high production value' commercials/clips that somehow lack any soul or fucking compelling storytelling unless it's in a fucking DOW game or what not. This is better because it fucking nails it, the Krieg marines are perfectly rendered here, except the guardsmen would have flicked dirt up when he parried that chain blade. Extra weight is better than meeting it with a fine edge and kriegs lads while aren't afraid to die are very, very committed to killing their enemies.

SOMEONE GET A DREADNOUGHT FOR THAT TEMPLAR BECAUSE HIS DUTY IS NOT DONE YET

​@@Onua118 - Eh, just make sure that your consecrations are up-to-date and regularly check whether your astropath's teeth have melted. The Emperor's Protection is regularly updated with new tests for corruption added regularly. If your fortifications were breached, run a full scan and purge any unknown texts of corrupted servitors. If incursions persist, you may need a full reinstall - a good reason to keep an armored reliquary separate from the main rooms of the shrine. Reinstalls may automatically include chapter updates, if Legion norms are upheld - if the chapter despise librarians or the Primaris of Guilliman (edit: codex compliance is rarely included as an automatic update, review updates carefully and use a reputable source), these may change chapter doctrine and require later purges. Your lifetime is the Emperor's currency, so spend it wisely on only the required fixes and send some Throne-gelt to the techpriests and menials that assist in returning your mechanisms to working order.

I love that the swordfighting is relatively realistic; by that I mean the stances, the lack of overswing, the opponents are trying to control the other's weapon instead of just flailing wildly like a whiffle bat.

Incredibly well done. That texture work is next level, the voice acting is impactful in the case of the Templar and creepy in the case of the Word Bearer, and the melee combat is really well choreographed. Looking forward to seeing more. Thanks for putting this out there.

Nah, the templar is probably still alive. Space marines have a transplant that allows them to go into stasis after taking a fatal wound. Meaning? Dreadnought.

I honestly found it a little rough around the edges, but one thing I cannot praise it enough is the heart it has

Aside from the lack of minor details in the department of animation such as momentum and few clunky looking movement. The amount of details in the art department is just astronomically astounding. I almost felt like I was watching the astartes series at the beginning. Truly a masterpiece worthy to stand with Helsreach, Death of hope, and Astartes among the WH40k fan animations. Keep up the good work!

Yeah it's the momentum that needs to be mastered to get to astartes level but definitely at the start hallway grenade sequence that was brilliant.

So, I thought that at first, but these aren't ninjas. The more I saw, the more accurate it became. Both of the weapons were two handed, and they were both being wielded with one hand. Go grab a 30lb metal rod that is 5ft long and hold it at the center, then swing it around a bit to strike something. It actually looks EXACTLY like it does in this. Short movements, jabs, minor twists, parry is easy, though, since that requires the least strength to accomplish. I've used both two handed greatswords and two handed war hammers that are historically accurate. The khorne guy has something ahistorical, but only in the dimensions of the hammer part, which is usually more like a real hammer in size. The spike is correct. Obviously the greatsword requires less strength to use, but the chaos marine makes up for his heavier weapon with more strength and a center grip. Yes, its fictional, but two medieval knights would fight with the exact same moves if they had appropriately scaled weapons. It just looks fake because it isn't cinematic, so we never actually see it. Check out Scholargladitoria, Shadiversity, Metatron, or anyone they recommend if you want the real shit. HEMA, Historic European Martial Arts.

@@GabrielChristtiane Hey just FYI to add to his coment, if you have a 30 series RTX card it is capable of motion capture for animation (if it is available on day 1); that will remove some of the "stiffness" in the animating and make it more realistic.

This was beautiful. Other animators show the power of the Astartes, and yet you managed to show the humanity from a champion of one of the most zealot and unforgiving chapters there are. Bravo.

I know everyone always says stuff like this, but the weight of the items is so accurate. A bolter firing a coke can sized round, a grenade being tossed like a wiffle ball by an 8ft superhuman soldier.

I was just listening to Baldermort's 'cast on the Black's "The Emperor's Champion" and you captured everything he said about them. The holy WTF flood of imperviousness. Great artwork, and I loved how combat was close, because that was a bigassed hammer. So good, brother.

@@maxhodge7149 it's even darken when you remember that the SPARTAN-II'S were all kidnapped 6 year olds. The SPARTAN-III program had even more moral problems, but at the very least when the UNSC made them (and NOT ONI) they gave those who they deemed suitable for the project the element of choice. Many were expendable and were available because they were War Orphans, but at least the UNSC gave them the choice to walk away or seek vengeance and defend humanity, highlighting that once you say yes, you can't exit the program.

The devotion and faith in 40k is what brings me back. Maybe its the Christian in me but seeing someone so devoted to their God(even though it's technically false in the lore) and humanity, that they'd die fighting what equates to literal demons, is heartwarming and tear-jerking.

Even though I am not into warhammer, and stumbled onto this video, I have to say It's amazing. You almost never see anything like this done this amazing not for money but for genuine enthusiasm. Amazing job and kudos.

This, it would have been too easy to portray them as mindless fanatics, but this video made them so much more.

This is one of the best I've ever watched. I gasped during their fighting and had tears in my eyes at the end.

This is amazing, just thinking that 20 years ago, this animation took a whole crew of people, working for months, and months, and it was consider a huge production, and now it can be done at home, it is just great. It is an amazing animation, congratulations. I can't wait to see what comes next.

I see people pointing out the clunkiness of the animation but the heart, the soul, and dare I say the faith behind it is plainly visible! This was a beautiful thing to wake up and find in my recommendations!

Makes perfect sense to me , i mean their duty is to die in the end , so once his duty is done , well you get a little shoulder tap for a last battle as your reward let's say :) It's 40k after all.

I love how you can see and feel the weight of their armor as they swing their swords and hammers even their steps have some kind of weight good job man

I love this fan base, for some reason 40k just has the most talented animators for these shorts. One day someone at games workshop will have to invest in these people to put out a good animated tv show or movie.

Damn dude that was legendary AF, is it just me or are these fan made shorts getting as good if not better in a lot of ways than animations made by some of the biggest names in the industry, Gabriel Christtiane (anyone and everyone else involved) keep up the amazing work. You never know who'll be inspired amongst all the thousands and thousands of people that see this, maybe the next great storyteller even, maybe the one that finally makes us a kick ass live action WH40K full length movie, a boy can dream can't I.

Now imagine this with professional dubbing. It would jump from a solid 9 to a hard 10. Amazing work, incredible art and honestly great animation for the most part. The effect on the Word Bearer's Mouthpiece was perfectly creepy. Loved it when the Emperor's Voice came from the statue.

I actually like the dub as it is, these are soldiers, breed to kill and die killing, not for fancy speeches, so its quite realistic that their voice and speech is just a little clumsy and it doesn´t lose one bit of emotivity.

Ok...so I'm still pretty new to this scene. Been watching lore videos and whatnot for a little over a year...THIS! Dude this was wild! Loved it, and that ending! Chills!

Truly an awesome script, battle-brother.. very well written dialogue. The animation was proper; I love word bearers.

I would like to thank you all for such an amazing response to my work! It's really refreshing after 10 months of work and learning that it was not in vain. You are an amazing community that can encourage. Thank you for that! :) Thanks also for the criticism and opinions, I appreciate them because thanks to them I can correct my mistakes. I definitely want to work on better dubbing and hire someone to do this hard work with me.
