Asylum should be guaranteed to workers who become employed on these visas. If you thought lockdown was bad, imagine what it would have been like under a full scale national food supply crisis with no promise of it ever going to be being addressed. Farm workers are the backbone of our nation and arguably the civilized world.

I'll paste a comment I posted early - The solution is simple, We have 5 million extra jobs - all of the jobs from trumps 3.5% unemployed have been filled (there were only 100,000 more jobs than job seekers on dec. 29, 2019) and Joe has created 5 million extra positions waiting to be filled. Greencard 2m immigrants and pass a law against slavery that will punish anyone who hires an illegal with 5-230 years in prison plus civil forfeiture all their assets - immigration and labor problems solved like reagan would have

Make sure the farmworkers in your state are covered by Workers' Compensation in the event of an injury. Idaho did not have Workers' Comp for farmworkers until Phil Batt was Governor of the State and a worker who was married and the father of four children had a terrible accident and lost both of his legs and both arms too. Governor Batt went to the Legislators and demanded that all farmworkers be covered, and they immediately followed his 'orders'.

One DJT's best day, December 29, 2019 unemployment was 3.5% there were 5.6 million job openings and 5.5 million unemployed - leaving 100,000 "excess jobs" with full employment (under 4%) Last month the unemployment rate was 3.6% (full employment) and there were over 11 million job openings to be shopped to 5.6 million unemployed. The Biden Boom has recovered all of the jobs lost to COVID (14.7% at its peak) that had not returned by inauguration day and has created over 5m new jobs - there are now 2 jobs available for every unemployed worker. What would Reagan do? What Reagan did. He raised taxes on the middle class over 40 times and he gave over 3m undocumented workers a path to citizenship. What would Biden do? He would Build Back Better if not for the Machinema Candidate, raise taxes on people with over $400,000 in earnings and... nope.... he won't open the border but he should. Taxes and creating upward mobility for citizens through pushing them up with 3m immigrants are the only two things that turned that economy around. US workers are already moving up. People are between jobs not chronically unemployed. The jobs they are taking are better jobs and better-paying jobs. What about the Biden border crisis? It never existed, here's why. In 2019 we had almost twice as many encounters at the southern boarded than any year since 2007 - unless sleepy joe is time traveling in his sleep that weren't him In 2019, 477,000 NIM (documented and undocumented immigrants) were added to the US population In 2020 over 400k NIM were added In 2021 - the only year Biden can be held to account - only 244,000 immigrants were added to the US population. It was the first year in our nation's history that the population rose by less than .1% So what if twice as many immigrants came to the southern border as did when Trump was in office, twice as many came to Trump's border as did since 2007 1,050,000 knocked on Trump's back door and only 54,000 of them were from Mexico - almost half a million were added to the population 2,840,000 knocked on Biden's back door and only 244,000 of them were here when counted - he sent them home, they didn't get in, they were processed according to law and expelled under 68 rather than 42, etc. Roughly Half of them were added to ur population under Trump. About one out of ten were added under Biden. That, good folks, is the Trump Border Crisis - the surge in encounters started under him and he let in more than four times as many as Biden by percentages. Now, Mexican farm workers. Green card 2 million of them and imprison anyone who hires an illegal for 5-20 years for slavery.

As someone who hires H-2a labor for a living - I can tell you that you are full of BS. There are many many checks and inspections already in place…A hotline setup for any grievances or mistreatment called the CIW. They have houses that are inspected by government, plenty of space, and pay checks that would put a local McDonald’s worker to shame. We have never had to make a minimum wage adjustment to their hours. By the way- USA law says any citizen cannot be “passed over” for one of these jobs- if they want the job- legally I have to hire them too-but I have never seen an American last more than one day in the fields.

Ima guess as long as you can train your own dragon you won't be old and in the way when we are - the sooner the better - all watched over - make it NOW please - by machines of loving grace (Brautigan 1967). Indeed but we also did not transition well under NAFTA 1.0 and the democratic party is still paying the price for that today. Maybe if Clinton would have crafted it instead of his predecessor, the framework and funding would have been included - but that's no excuse - it was not 'social-minded' enough. Don't get me wrong, I don't blame Clinton one bit for killing unions, the middle class, or the creating the rust belt - anyone who cares to study can see those declines happening for decades and will know where to point the finger - but the sudden shift and counting on proud Workers to be taken care of by "social safety net" while reforming welfare to eliminate benefits at the same time was some of the biggest "screw the Party's future, gimme my legacy now" crap I have ever seen.
