Very difficult to trust something like this when they say that acetaldehyde is produced in the gut, while it actually happens in the liver. And yes gut can refer to the abdomen but with the video showing the entrails that was clearly not what they meant. I hope that the deadmeat team takes another look at the sponsor since the product shouldn't have much of an effect on acetaldehyde production from alcohol.

The kill just works so well because it's such a slow build up, then throws in a fake shock moment before returning to normal for a bit. There's a cop seated so the viewer feels safe as does the nurse, but when she enters that room, he gets up and leaves. The long slow shot, the noise as she shuts the door (which I'm guessing was added in post so the killer could come through it) gives nothing away until she turns and walks. It's such an amazing moment that hits no matter how often you see it. Also, I wish there was a George C Scott satnav app as that voice would be amazing as you're driving: "Turn right I said!!!"

The bit in the church when Kinderman is talking to a priest about the events of the first film and just after the clocks all stop you hear a distant giggle of Reagan, like a kind of mocking by the demon. Just one of the many brilliant bits of this very underrated film.
The Exorcist III is, imo, an excellent and underrated true sequel to what I consider to be the scariest movie of all-time. Everything, from Blatty's script and direction, to the cast and the acting itself is all really well done. Also, that jump scare in the hospital is iconic in so many ways and, like many, made me jump out of my skin the first time I saw it. Initially, I thought the moment in the room with the ice cracking in the glass and the patient was the big scare, but I was sorely mistaken. 😅
My late partner was a huge disturbed fan, she and I used to watch your show together, now watching it alone, I had a great chuckle at your joke about the "Disturbed ward". Thank you for bringing her and I such joy over the years James, keep at it, love your work.

That jumpscare just proves that jumpscares aren't inherently bad. A well-crafted jumpscare is one of the best things in horror. You can over do it for sure, but a good one? Hoo boy. See also: Jaws (Ben Gardner), and Jurassic Park (when the raptor pushes through the pipes after Ellie gets the power back on).
9:18 The reference is funny by itself but the echo making it diegetic absolutely floored me.
I think the only reason Kinderman is so upset throughout the entire movie is because of that dang carp swimming up and down his bathtub.

Jason Miller deserves so much more love for his performance here and how he makes it such a seamless shift between him and Brad Dourif’s scenes. An absolute masterclass in acting right here!
Man that hospital jump scare messed me up so bad the first time I saw it. I remember laying in bed terrified that something was going to get me in the dark. Still gave me chills seeing it in the video. So well done
I’d also like to add to the nurse jump scare. i like the fact that she closes the door and then the demon comes out that same door. I feel like it misdirects the audience in thinking the scare will come from else where and adds to the surprise factor
Brad Dourif is so phenomenal here; I think it's one of his best on-screen performances along with ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST and WISE BLOOD.

He would've been a great Joker. Which Tim Burton originally wanted instead of Jack Nicholson. (Over the years, the Internet tried to rewrite history and say he was meant for Scarecrow, but Dourif himself confirmed he was meant for Joker.)
I'm a little disappointed that James didn't mention that George C. Scott was also Ebenezer Scrooge in one of the (many) adaptations of The Christmas Carol. He's amazing in that movie too. I was waiting for a joke mentioning that little detail. But, not a huge loss. Looking forward to next week's Kill Count for sure!

During the dream scene, the tarot cards that are laid out tell about the movie's climax. Judgment: Rite of Passage, maturing, reviewing, transition. The Emperor: Power, structure, stability, authority, father. The World: Integration, completion, options, wholeness, the earth, correction. The Devil: Attachments, restriction, commitment, limitations. Lined up in a 4 card spread is telling Wiliam what he'll have to face and that he'll be able to overcome it all. As all the cards are right side up. Meaning they have positive outcomes if he can see the signs in time. The devil card is last, so that will be the challenge Willam will have to face to bring out all the positive aspects of each card. While the Emperor card primarily relates to Dire, the other cards are about Willam overcoming the challenge of finding the murderer and solving the case. Side note: I don't really like doing tarot readings because of how structured they are. I stick with Oracle cards because they are more free-flowing. But for anyone curious about the cards and what they meant I hope this helps. ^^

Brad dourif is probably my favorite actor. I love all his different appearances and that voice yo. That vooooooiiiice!!!!!! Remember in Halloween 2 the unrated version when he lets out that nerve shattering wail?
This movie does a great job of making the kills really unsettling using just descriptions alone, I think it does a better job than most really gory and explicit movies do honestly. The monologue Brad Dourif gives about how a decapitated head can continue to see for 20 seconds so he makes sure that the last thing that person sees is their own decapitated body is brutal.
Man, I need to rewatch One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. It's been years.

Fun Fact: The Exorcist III stars Brad Dourif as a character in a mental ward. Exorcist II stars Louise Fletcher as a medical professional. Both actors play similar roles in "ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOOS NEST"
I really like how the kills are mostly described and not shown. It really lets your mind wander and create something truly horrific. The Exorcist III is kind of like the OG Texas Chainsaw in that way. I just think it's a pretty cool horror technique.
The Exorcist is my favorite film. I refused to watch any sequel especially after trying to get through II (and Believer). Very true, but it's actually in the diner scene, which also features Larry King in a brief cameo. Also, John Thompson, former NCAA Championship-winning head basketball coach at Georgetown University, is briefly seen in a background shot near the beginning of the film.
This movie was my first introduction to Brad Douriff. I was 13 when I watched the Exorcist Part 3 and to this day, I still hold The Gemini Killer to be the single most terrifying, engrossing and powerful performance in a horror movie of all time.
I’ve considered the hallway scene the greatest jump scare ever since I saw this film at age twelve in 2003. So glad to finally see it earn it’s reputation 🙌

One of the greatest lines in movie history to be honest. "Bill now, shoot now, kill me now!" And silence as the gunshots ring out. The impact of that moment cannot be understated - it's the end of 15 years of misery for all those involved in Pazuzu's nightmare.
This channel is why I love horror movies I used to not be the biggest fan of them but then I watched the og Friday kill count and was hooked ever since
The "Oh No" had me busting a gut. Great performance!
George C Scott played a great Grandpa in the mid-90s heart-warming teenage comedy type film called Angus. Kath Bates plays his adult daughter who has a teenage son; the son and the grandpa have a great relationship. Over dinner one night, Grandpa: "Hey! These are MY teeth" Grandson shrugs: "I guess, you paid for them" indicating that G-pa doesn't have real teeth but dentures. They are very close but take little shots at each other, it's a great movie for teens who never felt like they fit in anywhere. Oh yeah! It also has the jelly-jiggling "hacker" from the OG Jurassic Park movie as the main love interest. I didn't see her in much after Jurassic Park but she was in Angus, alone w/ James Van Der Beek as a dickhead bully who gets his due comeuppance. It's got a pretty star-studded cast now that I think about it.
