Today these trains would be packed with people going to work/shopping and during the summer holidays makers. The roads of Devon were not designed for buses/lorries, and the service is another story.
As a small child I lived at Cadbury. Memories of walking with Mother to catch the train at Bickleigh {Cadeleigh Stn) for Tiverton or walking to Thorverton to go to Exeter
priceless ,thank you.
Like a lot of these branchlines it should never have closed.

Whilst I would choose to agree in principle, it has to be said that with so many lamented closed branch lines,(our nearest being the Seaton and the Lyme Regis lines), we have to remember two things, pollution and availability of Welsh coal gone, with the thermal inefficiency of Clean Coal,(Russian), that the logistics would be very difficult to achieve a viable scenario!? Pity, because at 76 now, I remember it all so well! Cheers
Oh memories of the "Tivvy Bumper" as well.
Great little film,thanks for uploading.
