Thank you Sir. I have played EWI for decades, but never entered the programming wotld, thinking it was beyond my abilities, so I just never tried. After dialing in several great iterations of Lyricon 1 sounds (which took many months), and watching your outstanding introductary video on synthesis for wind controller use, I will give it the old college try. If it is anything like the Lyricon, small, incremental, isolated changes make the most useful impact.

This is really brilliant, thanks so much. I've just received my AKAI5000 this week and i'm starting to delve into sound design now, primarily with Ableton/Serum. You can tell you've spent a lot of time on this stuff and your sounds show it!

@@CircuitKisser thanks! Love your playing. Im new in the ewi-department, just got my 4000s 3 months ago. This video was helpful. Im hoping on future videoes with more in-depth explanation of how to play the ewi. Like the pitch-bends glissandos, exercises. How to work the octave-rollers (which I think is the hardest part). How your ewi 4000s is set in terms of breath control and all that. :) Once again great video!

I have a problem with record music on EWI5000. When im turn on my AWI on Reaper for example, then EWI 5000 Editor.dll VST Plugin showing some strange windows with to Update your Service Pack 1 on your Windows(I have no windows XP so it's sounds like its not a point.) Why it's not working? Reaper see my EWI and is able to record someting, but without this plugin it's only piano sounds. You know how to fix it?

iPad apps for using an EWI? Your best bet would be to find one that accepts MIDI inputs. Not sure how much you can do with CC routing, I haven't looked into that. I know there are several great synth apps made by Moog and Korg that would probably work.

@@Waddamattau No problem! You'll need an iOS interface to get the midi information from your EWI into the iPad. As for what you can route and assign via MIDI cc's, that's specific to the app.
