The Evolution Of Walker | Yellowstone

Ойын-сауық

Walker has experienced a lot since Rip picked him up outside of prison - here’s a look back at his time on the Dutton Ranch so far.
#Yellowstone #ParamountNetwork

    Best part about that scene is the way its framed when he comes into the store. They have the camera framed so you think he is buying a guy, when the first thing in the frame at the beginning of the scene is a wrack of guitars on the wall leaving you to think the first thought of him coming into that store in the first place is to buy the guitar, but he still is looking at the guns as an easy means of resolving the issue. Instead he swallowed his pride and humbled walker by giving him the guitar. In the beginning of that particular episode K tells him to swallow his pride. so.

    Vnachi8 "...he's conflicted and just doing his best to survive." Indeed. And he knows he won't be able to leave, unless it's a trip to the "train station." Jimmy, on the other hand, shows he wants more than to survive and he has a chance to do it, elsewhere. When Jimmy returns to Yellowstone, he has a conversation, with LLoyd, about his opportunity in leaving and going back to Texas. He's shown how he has grown and acknowledges that being there would not be a good thing for him. Leaving and cowboying with neighbors and others who harbor no ill will is all he wants and is what is attractive to him.

    @@johndavies5582 100% disagree. Season 4 did nothing to establish a timeline in terms of the length of time that had passed between Jimmy being sent down to the 6666's and when he came back. In Dutton time in Montana, it seemed like a few months had passed during the length of the season, meanwhile in short snippets, we see Jimmy (who was an important secondary character on Yellowstone) progress in both his skills, peer appreciation and relationship in a timeline that seemed much longer than that taking place on the Yellowstone. After 3 seasons of slow development with Jimmy, where the audience slowly built a relationship with him and watch him grow, his arch both sped up and was minimized in the 4th season. Now, it appears he has left Yellowstone and as of the last announcement from Paramount on June 20th, The 6666's isn't even in preproduction yet. So what becomes of Jimmy now, because I'm a hell of a lot more interested in that than I am Kaycee and his annoying ass wife and bratty kid.

  • @vinyltapelover

    @vinyltapelover

    @@Vnachi8 Great write up. I think we unconsciously accepted that undefined time line, given all the drama at Yellowstone. My guess was that it might take about 6 months to grow and find his niche cowboying. I think we all, in gaining a connection to Jimmy, are wanting for more, but at four 6s or anywhere away from Yellowstone:). Considering how we were introduced to him with all his problems including the tragic death of his uncle(?), Jimmy was a compelling mess and he had us pulling for him into his relationship with Mia. Personally, I thought she screwed up a couple times pushing him too much when he wasn't prepared. She wasn't looking out for what was best for him at that time. He broke a promise to John Dutton getting hurt, a second time, trying to "please' and keep her in his life. John gives Jimmy one last shot at growing up and cowboying. He was going to ship him off to 6666s, cowboy boot camp and training for Jimmy. Mia wanted Jimmy to stay with her and not go away, but if had, he would have turned out to be a busted up cowboy wannabe and how would she be able to take care of future doctor bills especially if Jimmy became paralyzed? With Mia he wasn't going to learn how to be a cowboy and he could not stay at the ranch. Whether Mia wanted to acknowledge it or not, she was the one who set things in motion for Jimmy to be shipped off. If she had not been so selfish and could have seen into the future, Jimmy would have returned to her and as a real cowboy. Her selfishness and anger caused her not to talk to him, just before his leaving for 6666s. If Mia had told Jimmy she would wait, he would have been motivated and encouraged to do well and return to her. After all this, life is relatively good for Jimmy. What kind of story could be told about him at the 6666s... whenever it is written and aired? Kaycee 's wife tends to be a little distracting character to me. Maybe, for good reason, because of all the things they went through including the trauma the son went experienced because of his kidnapping and any possible physical abuse including having his head shaved. He had always felt "safe ' until that happened. And remember, I saw the compilation clip to remember myself, his grandfather spoke with him about being cognizant of how guns can take a life. I can't imagine what his character was dealing with when he shot and killed a bad man attacking his mother. I was robbed many years ago, by a man with a shotgun pointed at my midsection. I was angry as hell that it occurred and I couldn't do anything about it About a week or two later, I woke up out of a sound sleep in a sweat. I can cut Kaycee's son some slack for his PTSD. Between Kaycee and the wife they were approaching how to help their son differently and not doing well. I think the time with grandpa was a help to him. Dang, did I yammer on a spell didn't I?🙂

    The last scene where Lloyd and Walker fight and then he brings him a guitar afterwards. Thats one of the scenes that really drew me in as to how complex this show can be. Walker can be a cad but hes straight up more often than not. The story arcs are well written dense and complex but at the same time humorous and simple at times. Its hard not to be drawn in. And where Walker is singing and the ranchhands just listen and are moved is so very powerful.

    For a sophisticated ranching operation/criminal enterprise, the Yellowstone ranch has got to have the dumbest staffing plan ever: "Let's just round up unreliable ex-cons on their way out of prison, have then branded as a "test of loyalty", then tell them they have to violate their parole with criminal acts, and that they can never leave, ever! And if they protest, we'll murder them and dump their bodies on the side of a highway, out in the open! What could possibly go wrong?!"
