What is draft mode

SvR 2011, WWE '12, and WWE '13 will always be my favorite when it comes to Universe Mode!

SvR 2011 and WWE '12 had the best versions. As we started getting more control, things got worse. I'd rather they make it like those two where surprises actually happen and cutscenes would actually appear.

Ever since SVR 2011 I’ve been addicted to Universe Mode. Even though it’s repetitive I just get new ideas each time. I can play it all night really

I want them to make universe mode feel more lively and dynamic. You should be able to trigger return cutscenes for injured superstars and I want the draft back. We just need more dynamics

Universe Mode Needs to have that News Feed from Gm Mode...cause this crap we get in Universe mode smh..is trash samething with injuries no type of Advertising for comeback or cut scenes or Choosing when to have them return to attack the guy who got them injured...its like they just come back...i miss Gm Mode in all honesty but if Gm Mode had Cut scenes and let us Full customize ...it would be Damm Good

What they need when they have been missing is backstage cutscenes in universe mode like guys being interviewed like guys planning on attacking people different things that they never add

This makes me feel pretty nostalgic. I still like Rivalry based Universe modes (though 2K14 did it best, personally), but I remember sinking in hours into SvR 11, just playing random matches, getting my CAWs to titles... Want to do something like this for 2K18...

Curtis Simmons well to me universe mode gives you far more options when editing a show for example changing titles and the shows layout. I would be lying if I said I didn’t like the draft but on universe mode you can draft anyone you want including custom characters

WWE 12 REALLY Had the best universe mode wow

I like Svr 2011 universe mode presentation the best and the fact there's an option to have it playing even though you're not in the game mode. It felt more lively and the cutscenes were fun to see unexpectedly even though they became repetitive.

More like the Devolution of Universe Mode. Great video as always!

Universe mode really has never lived up to its potential, The fact that the earliest incarnations are the best received says a lot. Universe mode should be awesome by now but instead it's just disappointing especially when you think of the potential the mode has.

WWE 13 was my favorite Universe Mode. The customization was great & I loved the addition of statistics. I’m not sure if this was mentioned in the video, but I believe it was the first Universe Mode that allowed you to customize the entire match card before playing. Plus, it was fun to have the modern 2012 roster face off against the Attitude Era roster & even all of the amazing CAWs from Community Creations.

WWE 13 and 2K14 actually had a good amount of cutscenes. The last two matches on a minor show were guaranteed to have a cutscene for both games. WWE 13's Universe Mode seems to get overlooked because of the plentiful amount of glitches but it did actually have a decent mode.

If I could get a universe move exactly with the randomness of WWE 12 with todays graphics I’d be so happy

-Ratings and more compitition between sd live and raw - more cutscenses - more options you can do during promos

WWE '12 may not be a good game to some, but the main menu was so nice looking. The menus were sleek and easy to navigate through man I just loved it. I know it's a really small thing in the game but it's the little things that contribute to me liking a game or not

WWE 2K16's Universe menus had potential, but it was still clunky in areas. I liked how they went with the website background and all that. They should go back to that and improve it.

Universe mode with being able to create cutscenes like you could in WWE's old Create a Story mode, that way you can make a post match assault cutscene that could show someone being injured and carted out the arena and take them off TV for a few weeks. Maybe even allow us to type out the weekly updates. Basically give full power of customization to the player.

I would love for them to add tons of storylines for rivalries in Universe mode instead of me making up my own stories in my head like action figures...

With every step forward, they seem to take a step back, and I just don't understand why. Why introduce a cool feature only to get rid of it in the very next game? Even if the mode isn't to my liking (which it's usually not but There is nothing else to really do) at least I would be happy to know their is a lot of fun stories and surprises to be had here, but no their really isn't.

What we need is a good Universe mode for once. We had good Career modes in the past with the ol' Season modes and RTWMs but we've never once had a good Universe mode which makes it more valuable. And by good Universe mode I mean one where playing through the shows feel like how they do in real life in terms of storytelling, presentation and transitions. All they have to do is make the storylines of all rivalries be as good as the storylines of Ps2 season modes, with variety of promos types (i.e backstage, interview, multi-man, stage/titantron promos) with the promos relating to whats been happening in those rivalries and what the rivalries are about. They also need to improve the presentation and transitions to each match to the point that they rival real life. It feels like 2K/Dukes cares more for the creation suite and cosmetic side of Universe mode rather than how playing through the shows themselves are like, which is backwards. If they put all their Universe mode effort on the shows themselves it'll produce much better results and make the game in general much better. And if all that is too much for 2K/Dukes they should add the essentials to Universe mode this year (Or next) and expand upon them each year later. The essentials being: - More promo types: Add enough promo types so that we don't have to constantly use the same promo types each show. Promo types like heel/face turns and Tag Team form and break up leave too much of an impact on the wrestlers doing those promos that we can't use them often enough. We need more promo types that can be used whenever like the Call Out and Self Promotion promos but feels different than those two promo types. We need Tag Team Call Out and Tag Team Self Promotion, Interview promos and Tag Team version(s) of interview promos and if they can do more than that add Championship versions of each promo type. They can add more promo types in the future after including the ones I just mentioned. - Cutscenes with purpose: Too many cutscenes in universe mode have the same purpose and are unnecessary. This should be fixed so that the generic beat down cutscenes are replaced with the in game break outs and interferences. This would give room for cutscenes (New and old) that each have their own unique purpose similar to the Universe mode cutscenes of WWE '12. These two essentials should be the bare minimum. I guarantee if they just include these essentials Universe mode will be much better and loved by the community and will appeal more to newcomers too. Only when they make a good Universe mode can they call the game a true simulation. Simulation doesn't mean making the games slow and boring, it means emulating playing through WWE shows in real life.

What about the career mode merging with universe mode and the ability to import any wwe 2k game roster ever played on the system

I would like to see the ability to script the match, like in real life. It will make it even more like your show, with how you want it to happen. It might make MathWiz's universe mode easier. Plus, the draft would be nice, but two version's of it. The one where you pick who you want, and the one where it's randomized from the other brand what you get if you won a draft match.

GM Mode is overrated. Season Mode is by far the greatest mode, especially in HCTP, SVR 05, 06, and 07.

Good video. Will do my wishlist for Universe Mode tomorrow along with gameplay and my career. For me, I would like to like to have the chaos back. In WWE 2k14 in a 1 on 1 match, random superstars will interfere. We need more randomness. I would also like to see Tournaments back in universe mode like King Of The Ring/ Dusty Classic/Gold Rush.

Joffrey Baratheon Fans want it back for the monopoly type reasons. Reasons like financial planning, building up superstars, etc. They want every other sport games’ GM Mode in a WWE Game. To have GM Mode, the only thing you have to do is take a pen and paper and play exhibition matches. That’s what it was, a text based Mode with broken mechanics. Universe Mode isn’t perfect but I actually feel in control of my version of the WWE and I don’t have to play with another person to enjoy it. I love the cutscenes, ability to create everything imaginable, and being able to book what I want and when I want.

Ik u posted this a few years ago. But I had no idea WWE 12 had show intros lol. They should've kept it around in WWE 13 through 2k16. They brought it back in WWE 2K17 then got rid of it again by 2k23. My opinion show intros are the best part of the show. Love the Pyro.

In wwe 2k19 you should be able to pick a superstar to be commissioner and another one to be gm for a brand and you should be able to use them backstage and another thing I want is for stars to matter like how gm mode had a rating I want to see which show did better!

I miss Match Creator in Universe Mode, it was very fast and comfortable to edit match rules :(

SVR 2011 for me was a new type of road to w where I just stick with 1 wrestler and make him greater

People say they want multi-man rivalries. I think you should be able to do that. Plus the ability to take two rivalries in progress, or even more, and combine them together .

I wish you could choose what cutscenes to add, make your own story, use tournaments, and even create tweets or article

I would have to say that WWE 12's universe mode was the best but I like the current one so far in 2k18. If I would change one thing in the mode in 2k19 I would change the pyro in the mode for the ppvs cause it gets repetitive seeing the same pyro animation for every ppv expect for wrestlemania. I know that's just a small thing but it wouldn't hurt.

Personally, I think I agree with the people who have been posting that Universe Mode lost a little bit of its luster when we got the ability to control and create rivalries. I do think that's a great option, but it seems like once they added that in, Universe Mode lost the spontaneous feel of the original ones. I loved the concept that the game tracked your matches to build rivalries on its own, and then trigger cut scenes to fuel a story. Now, we select a rivalry, and it's just repetitive booking with the same cycle of cutscenes. While I didn't play deeply into 2K18, I felt in my limited experience that it started to bring back some of that spontaneity. It would see who I was putting in matches, and the outcomes, and could trigger a Potential Rivalry. Then that potential rivalry could lead to an actual rivalry. But unfortunately for the most part I feel like I have more control when I *don't* create a rivalry, and just play the rivalries and matches out myself. So I would absolutely love to see some of the spontaneity come back into Universe Mode so that every time I open it up, I could have a surprise waiting in store for me. Either way, I'm excited to get my hands on WWE 2K19 and fire up this year's Universe Mode.

WWE 13 gave you a chance to create a show. I think it was very cool and i remember reviving ECW and playing match after match

In SVR 2011 you could turn off that option which make every match a Universe mode match with analog stick.

i'd like for the Storyline chooser to be returned for 2K19.. atleast, it could make a rivalry different from another and the next... and also i'd like a choice to have cool vignette kinda videos for everytime there's new superstars debuting or there's a returning superstar, or have a surprise run-in from the crowd like in real-life from debutants and returning superstars.. now that would be cool..

The Smackdown Vs RAW Season Mode draft where you get to hand pick Superstars and then the rest are randomized should return in WWE 2K19. Also add more surprises and cutscenes. And finally the option to add a fourth (or fifth) title to Universe Mode

I would like to see an online version of universe mode with a draft and gm mode elements. That way you and a friend can play universe mode together and see who has the best show or brand.

whats the difference beetwen universe mode and GM ? I see videos of people wanting the return of GM mode, but universe seems very similar (I never play those modes sorry)

I'm late, but nobody answered so... GM mode had you control ONE show & the A.I. controlled the other show. Then a draft was held to determine rosters. Then you have to sign your wrestlers with your available funds, purchase storyline writers, & pay for certain match types as you had them on a show. Putting on a varied show, with good rivalries, would net you better ratings & more money than your rival show. Gotta keep your superstars paid, involved, & not losing every week or they'd jump to the other show. Book a full year of programming to beat the rival GM & win the GM of the year award. That was GM mode. VERY different than universe.

The draft should return and the ability to control your cut scenes. And when you’re doing a promo I wish the wrestlers could talk

Enable/disable draft should be an option for after wrestlemania, and the rivalry story customisation from 2k15 should come back. I always said they need to add a way to customise the stories yourself and funnily enough 2k15 was the only one I never played so I never saw it

Personally, this Is my favorite mode in the current games. I understand why people don't but I just really enjoy the sandbox element of it and the hours you can put in to it.

The return of the Draft

I wish add scene in backstage and interview on during rival in universe mode. Im not talk about my career mode or my player mode. Especially add draft or shake-up in universe mode too.

They should combine gm mode with story created. We should set up maybe 3 cuts per match and non match rivalry fillers. We should be able to tie in call ups or Indy signings. I also feel we should have stable options like 1 top carder, tag team, and mid carder spots.

My ideal wwe game would have a roster spanning from svr06-wwe2k14 (with all the dlc) and the gameplay /weapon physics/feel/vibe/lighting (idk what to call it but that game felt so alive to me) of svr 11. The universe mode experience of wwe 12 (good balance btwn spontaneity and continuity) and universe customisation of wwe 13 (with the stats and all, don't really need to explicitly create rivalries, I get that some ppl like that but I find it unsexy tbh). Bring back create a story, keep the ability to fight in crowds and the base of the stage as well as go backstage. Maybe even use a wrestler like the modern superstar mode and start off the show backstage like svr 11s rtwm and I'd pay anything to get my hands on that.

I want to be able to choose the storylines again. I keep getting the same ones over and over.

All of the cut scenes should be branching, but instead they do the damn handshake crap when you dont want them to.

Some additions to universe mode in 2K19 are good, but it is not a sandbox as they market it to be. There are some stupid limitations, like you can't do title for title and then have a person visibly hold two titles (but you can do it in the play mode!). I also miss more original stories, and the choice of what to do before, during, and after matches, like handshake or attack.

Lol when i had WWE SmackDown vs RAW 2011 on my PS2 i was always gone to this mode and played the first match against Primo and won then Vince McMahon comes out sending an unlockable character for me to fight and then when i unlocked him by beating him there was Vince lying on the ground with his suit as if it was him that i fought instead LMAO.
