When people trash Mickey by using him as a metaphor for the Walt Disney Company, they are probably joking around because of the fact that he is the mascot of the company. But yeah, outside of that, as popular as he is or was for all his charisma, what legit reasons did Mickey have to get so much hate nowadays besides being an animal abuser who didn’t know what “no” meant during his earliest years like in Steamboat Willie?

Yeah, it looked really good! You can see a bit of movement with his face after he says “how do you say that, Jack?” It was pretty good for back then. The snark too I can agree with. It’s unusual for Mickey to give a snarky tone, but that’s what makes things like this more interesting, because it’s unusual.

His 2003 appearance was quite special, especially when it marked as the first time a classic character made it onto the computer animated world that CG films (mostly Pixar) were dominating at the time

I never thought about that. Mickey was the first classic to join in with CGI. Although, the Oscars was not the first time he appeared in CGI. The official first time Mickey appears in CGI was in Mickey’s PhilharMagic at the parks.

I love the video Disney posted for the 2023 Oscars event, Mickey was so sweet and I love that he gave a special shout-out to Horace & ToonTown!! Very nice video man, excited to see what your channel’s got in store!

Frr, Once Apon a studio made me cry when I watched it. It just felt so special, like it was the satisfying ending to a really good video game, and the last person in the credits is “And You”

That would be fun! It would just take a very long time because there are countless of commercials featuring Mickey, but it is something I will take into consideration.

Mickey's debut at the original Oscars with low quality screening resembled Who Framed Roger Rabbit, directed by Robert Zemeckis.

Mickey Mouse will be a century old in four years; we already enjoyed the 100th birthday of the Walt Disney Company and everything related to Disney.

Love this video! It's a shame Mickey and other cartoon characters weren't allowed to nominate at the Oscar's. Hopefully someday, the Oscar's will allow Mickey to nominate the next winner.

That would be amazing! I’ve been telling a lot of people in the comments how I deeply predict Mickey will appear again at the Oscars in 2028 for his 100th birthday, which also corresponds with the 100th Academy Awards show! If Disney doesn’t get Mickey there for that one, I don’t know what I’ll say.

As a Mickey fan myself, having grown up with Wayne as the voice, this was well edited and nicely done.

Thanks! I worked hard on it. I also grew up with Wayne as Mickey too, so he’s definitely one of, if not my favorite Mickey voice. It’s also hard for me to say, because I’m a huge Mickey fan, and I grew up with Bret Iwan’s and Chris Diamantopoulos’ Mickey as well.

Perhaps we can allow the characters to debut at the award shows again with special effects devices.

I love this famous Disney character. I remembered that some of the cartoons that this Disney character was in are on Disney plus. As a matter of fact, that introduction music is the introduction for 3 Mickey Mouse cartoons and they're 1. Mickey's Delayed Date, 2. Mickey and the seal and finally 3. Raccoon Dawg.

Hey I just want to mention your musical choices were very on-point for this video. Nothing generic, majority of it was recognizable for their parts, it's great. I'd only recommend maybe lowering the music by maybe 5-15% so it doesn't overpower your voice since the loud brass was doing that in some parts. Other than that, great video.

@@MickeyMousekefan The only thing I could think of is Audacity and in general just keeping track of how loud your audio is on average compared to how loud your background music is on average. Possibly even export a version of the video as an audio file like an MP3 to listen back to it so you only have the audio and music to listen to and see if one or the other is too quiet or overpowering.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the last time we saw animated characters was 2016 with Woody and Buzz from Toy Story. Did you do all the animations and transitions on this video yourself independently? This is so impressive and polished for a first video. This looks like it was done by a big production company. Like a matpat video. But less annoying than a matpat video.

Kind of. So I edit with CapCut and I use some of the transitions and animations that are given, but there are some I do independently, such as when an image pops out.

As a huge fan of Disney history and the Oscars, I really enjoyed this. I did feel like maybe it wasn't necessary to play music thru the entire video (or maybe it could have just been a little softer?) because sometimes it distracted from the great information you were presenting. Anyway, keep up the good work!

For your next long-form video you should do a history of Mickey Mouse food products (Mickey's Parade Bars and Pops, Mickey's Magix cereal, Mickey Mouse 90th Anniversary Oreos, Mickey Mouse Goldfish, etc, even the Mickey Mouse ice cream bars from the Disney Parks that you can buy in grocery stores).

I miss when the Academy would do some fun stuff when presenting the Best Animated Short Oscars. They had an animated Snow White presenting at the ceremony honoring the films released in 1992, Also, when Walt Disney won his final Oscar posthumously for Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day, the Pink Panther was involved in an animated segment.

I would like for all the Disneytoon Studios films and the characters from them to also star in the Disney Parks, Castaway Cay, Aulani and the ships along with more of the merchandise because a bunch of their films are being bundled together with some of the Walt Disney Animation Studios films, some released on videocassette with them, Ariel is no longer a princess, Kaa was lucky to move his tail himself while on the ground, Timon and Pumbaa went through everything the lion characters did, Tod and Copper continued hanging around with each other around a funfair without a disgraceful urge back home before the big hunting trip, several recycled animated movements were reused, even by mirror and slow scroll, a lamp element came before the one in Aladdin who somehow wasn't an orphan according to the existence of Cassim and Tarzan's kid self was swift and powerful as he neared becoming the next King of the African Jungle.

Amazing your keeping track. I don’t know what happened last night, but I somehow came from having about 150 subs to now 415! And my Oscars video was at around 500 views, and now over 12,000!!! Today left me speechless.

How about making a video referencing all the times Mickey interacted with characters that were not from Disney. And it has to be an official collaboration between Disney and another company. No spoofs, no parodies, no public domain works.

Are you saying it’s not ok for people to make mistakes? I did research, and even then, I can still make an error. Also, notice how i said LaserDisc and DVD set.

I appreciate when people point out my errors as it helps me improve in the future. However, trying to make someone feel bad or doubting everything they say just because of a small mistake seems unfair. I do a lot of research and try to get things right. If you end up watching my other content, please let me know if I mess up, but I hope you can do it more respectfully.

I guess he never be shown at the Oscars again all because of sending him to public domain when I want the rights of him back to Disney. Because he is MY favorite Disney character after all.

Public domain does open the possibility of Mickey showing up again, but I do think he’ll make another official appearance within the next few years. His 100th birthday is just around the corner.

@@MickeyMousekefan Around the corner? He just turned 94 last year and I wanted the rights of him back to Disney not be in silly public domain because Steamboat Willie is a classic so respect the classics

@@jacobwilcox8659 Mickey turns 100 in 2028, and considering how fast time can fly, we will be there in no time lol. Also, I partially agree with you on Disney getting the rights back. Even though it's not possible anymore, I kinda wish Steamboat Willie was still in Disney's hands. All people have done since he became public domain was make low-budget trashy horror films, and try to turn him into something he's not.

@@MickeyMousekefan Well Disney and Mickey should get back together again instead of breaking up with each other in the first place like me and my brother always get back together again even though we sometimes argue so I vote for the rights of Mickey back so I say "Aye".

That’s how a bunch of people see Mickey unfortunately. The mascot of an evil corporation, but in reality, people are forgetting his actual character. A kind, gentle mouse.
