I don't have a favorite either, but I definitely have a least favorite: the afflicted version. It's a tank (especially before nerfed in the original version of sunbreak when hunters deal less damage) and it's pretty annoying, repeating the slide away and snow ball at you combo continuously. The same can't be said about Arzuros, which has always been a relatively fun fight.

@@HeavyWings Having fought all of them for many times, I would say that the smaller & weaker (ecologically not in game strength) monsters are the worst as they were designed to be weak, beginner level quest targets and don’t have many moves. When they spam the same moves over and over again (and they now drain more than half of your health!), you get a horribly designed monster that is both tedious and boring and now they are able to one shot or two shot you… The worst part is you need a ton of their materials if you play most of the weapon classes or you want to augment your equipments.

Always thought his part break should've been his chest/belly. Causing him to slide less often/far, or a chance of slipping into a topple

Same for volvidon honestly. Like, part of the surface he uses to roll is messed up, surely that’d affect how he rolls right?

i always thought the ears on the standard female helmet were so cute, lagombi reminds me of ancient marsupial megafauna and as a result felt really grounded

Lagombi my favorite of the Fanged Beasts, and Snowbaron is the best version of gombi we got so far.

Man I do wish they would've kept the bear trios theme tho in Rise/Sunbreak. Another great video!

It's the same with Arzuros, Volvidon and Wroggi. Lot of Portable 3rd monsters just didn't get gunner sets, and didn't get anything new for G Rank 3 Ultimate. This goes all the way to Rise where the designs are just identical. The Monster Hunter devs decide that if something is a certain way, they will rarely change it. That's why Anjanath/Pukei/Jyuratodus still have bone weapons in Rise.

@@HeavyWings that's fair Though to be fair their armors do look rather nice to begin with And yeah, that's the one downside, at least the other weapons didn't share the same fate. Rise was my first game and eventually I looked at the weapons for monsters in World They massacred so many good ones

"Low tier" armors rarely got differing designs in G-rank; at most just getting a recolor or something. This goes for stuff like the hunter or chainmail sets, all the way up to early game, and even sometimes mid game (such as Congalala, Blangonga, or even Ceanataur) Large Monsters. The fact that Izuchi, Kulu, Great Jagras, Great Girros, and Tzi Tzi all got new designs in G-rank in Iceborne/Sunbreak is definitely out of the norm given monsters of that difficulty level never with the only exception being Great Jaggi in 3U exclusively. However, I'm glad that pattern seems to be breaking. Hopefully it means someday we can see true G-rank armor designs for some monsters in the future. It happened with Lavasioth in Iceborne, so I think we'll see it more.

I was always reminder of 'the nutcracker', those soldiers, regarding Lagombi's set design. Also I...like the monster as far as being a simple monster to flesh out the world goes, like the armour, never cared for the weapons, and fighting it has always been a real hassle for me.

lagombi in p3rd is probably my most liked version. its an easy beginner monster to hunt and a decent step up from arzuros with great armor sets and weapons that are easily usable through low and high rank. because of cold null on its armor its something you can use throughout the entire game whenever theres a mission in the tundra or desert at night. kind of the opposite of volvidon whos armor has heat null. whenever i play p3rd i always make sure to hunt both lagombi and volvidon as early as possible so can get their armors.

I appreciate Snowbaron. Im not a big fan of all the Lagombis, but Its nice to have a Version of him who is pretty different. Snowbaron baerly uses the Sliding and focuses on Snowballs and Snowman Status instead, mixing up the Flow of the Fight a lot.

Great video as always, Heavy Wings! You make me appreciate monsters more than I would had I not watched a video. Would you ever make a video about Gammoth? It's my favorite monster, flagship theme, and top 5 favorite fights in the series. I just love it alot. Keep up the great work!

Hey, that's respectable. Not everyone's gonna like the same monsters, so I understand that. It is a bit difficult when it's the only member of the Fated Four to not appear in 5th gen games, isn't it?

I personally love Snowbaron the most , I like when Capcom makes low tier monsters strong , by giving them Deviands like azuros and lagombi. And fun fact he was my very very very first Monster that I slayed in the Monster Hunter history back in 2012-2013 , when I started with MH , it was the 3U Demo where you could fight Lagombi and Plesioth ^^

@@HeavyWings no it is good that Plesioth is there , cause I feel like Plesioth is actually a cool underwater fight , maybe not on land but in water, he has the switch between land and water which I like , Lagiacrus is a annoying monster to deal with in 3U , and was pretty much only underwater which was boring , Plesioth is fast pace underwater and land , and that’s good , fck lagi even tho he’s a fan favorite ^^

I don't think it would have been too much work but there was enough material for both to have their own video. Unlike Teostra and Lunastra, or Diablos and Monoblos, where one of the monsters appeared so little that it made sense to fold them in.

I hope you can do a Blangonganga video soon ^_^

Personally, I've never really been a huge fan of Lagombi. The fact that he has so many attacks that are basically unreactable, especially at higher ranks, has consistently been more annoying than challenging

I do like that element of unpredictability, means you have to always be careful and it prepares you for other unreactable charges from harder monsters.

@@HeavyWings Yeah, I can 100% understand that viewpoint, I think it just comes down to personal preference, I usually don't take issue with that kind of thing, but on a smaller monster that you have to get closer to in order to damage, it personally gets pretty annoying to me. I can certainly understand how people like it, though

I really dislike Arzuros, but Lagombi is quite fun.

If i wasn´t a Swaxe main i think i would delete my save file before ever even considering to farm Lagombi... such an absolute annoying bastard. Thank the devs for ZSD having innate rocksteady in rise!

While I really like lagombi in older gens, its not really a good monster in rise for me, maybe because of the speed of the game

The fact that Arzuros/Lagombi/Volvidon's theme didn't return in Rise is the worst part of the game.
