This is me, I rode this a week ago and the most intense ride I had been was a pirate ship. But I am such a fan of Jurassic Park I just HAD to try this. I was dying by the end but man I LOVED It!!!!

you can do it! im a wuss when it comes to coasters like this and i LOVED this ride! I hate big drops but this drop looks way scarier than it really is. Fuck a morning coffee, just go on this and youll be set to start your day!

Got the chance to go on opening day. It's seriously a coaster that LIVES UP TO THE HYPE. No review can truly tell how incredible this coaster is. I rode velocicoaster 6 times and I still cannot get over the experience. One of the greatest roller coasters ever built. And I don't know how it's possible for intamin to top it.

I went on the coaster two weeks ago, and I’m STILL shocked at how amazing it was! It heavily over-exceeded my expectations, probably either this or Steel Vengeance gets my pick for the best roller coaster (although I’d say for the overall experience, it’s arguable VelociCoaster is better because of the queue and theming)

Gonna go on asap!! So I can experience it. I live here and went once after they added it didn’t go on becus the wait time now I’m GOING to go on

I just wish they had found a way to keep Dueling Dragons along with all the expansions. Not only it had some of the best theming in the part in the queue but the ride itself, specially with two full riders on both tracks simultaneously, was a terrific experience. Incredible Hulk, Velocicoaster, and Dueling Dragons would have made for a killer trifecta of coasters (with Hagwrith -or however it is spelled- making for a good family alternative).

Dueling Dragons got the send off it deserved though. It got two superior successors in Hagrids and Velocicoaster, and it’s getting it’s spiritual successor in Starfall Racers at Edge of Tomorrow. It’s crazy how much Universal has changed. I last visited the park back in 02 when I was 11 years old for a class trip before I visited last week and the amount additions Universal made is crazy. The resorts alone are fantastic (stayed at Cabana Bay. Highly recommend) but the three parks themselves are so different than what Universal used to be. When I was a kid, Universal mostly focused on simulation rides like Back to the Future, Terminator and MIB while also focusing on studio effect rides such as Jaws, King Kong and ET. While the spirit of those rides exist, Islands of Adventure added the thrill aspect to the parks when it first opened, but at the time it opened, it was still closer to a Cedar Fair/Busch Gardens type theming than it is now (albeit Dueling Dragons paved the way for the Theming becoming much more immersive) Now, it has two world class coasters with unmatched theming that puts it on par with Disney, but with much better attractions. And it’s not done, the amount of investing they are doing is crazy. Not only did they add two world class coasters that cost hundreds of millions of dollars, but they are adding a whole brand new park that is supposed to be the size of both IOA and Universal Orlando combined, are adding two more world class coasters in said park, and groundbreaking theming that for all intents and purposes, will close the gap between them and Disney, and most likely even surpass them. I am so excited to see what Universal looks like in the next decade. It’s gonna be crazy fun.

@@ExpeditionThemeParkhappy to say that the spiritual successor to the dragons is confirmed for universal’s new park opening next year!!!! The Starfall Racers! (I have to say tho, the Island of Berk from how to train your dragon is coming to this new park, and what a missed opportunity not theming those after the dragon racing sport that’s seen so much in the films and books!)

Being a Floridian transplant, I didn’t understand the reasoning behind unlimited pass memberships to amusement parks. After experiencing Universal Studios two times this year (after being a frequent visitor to Cedar Point which I still believe is one of the best amusement parks ever) I’m now looking into buying my membership for next year! It’s just that good! Universal has perfected the standard for guests to enter new worlds and be immersed in the experience, and it’s worth every penny!

I feel like a good way to increase the intense rides is to expand upon the kong sector in the park, maybe by creating a larger titan roller coaster where you experience godzilla as well creating a monsterverse section, this could be a ride where you see godzilla as a large animatronic outside and maybe a mechagodzilla as well, if they have the room I would love to see this, or if needed the toon lagoon may need to be decreased in size, it is better for the time as people love the monsters and it's more well known than some cartoons

Just rode this a few weeks ago and this ride is AMAZING! The only other moment more intense than right over the lagoon is when we reach the peak after the first inversion and you feel weightless while also thinking “this is how it ends, I’m gonna die with my locker ticket in my pocket”. Can’t wait to go back and enjoy it again!

I've ridden a lot of coasters and I have to say this extremely high on my list. The only thing it lacks is a huge drop. I went to Universal for opening week of this ride and was able to get on 10 times. 5 rides in front row, the rest moving around the train. There are no disappointing seats on this coaster. It's amazing. The last inversion over the water/lagoon is unbelievable. It's a must ride for any coaster enthusiast.

I don't know that drop after that second launch was pretty big.

Just standing watching the coaster go above and around you is an amazing experience, it definitely makes islands one of the best theme parks in the world .

I'm really excited to get down there sometime, there are so many good coasters in that one park now that are worth going to if your a coaster enthusiast or just a really big fan of universal. Luckily I'm both sooo...

Um their are really only 3 coasters and hagrids isn't a thrill coaster. So 2. So their aren't alot. And not really worth the expense imo

I feel super lucky that I’m a passholder that lives in Orlando and they essentially had a month long soft open for the coaster. They did not miss at all with this one. Super smoother, comfortable, well themed, fun preshow vid, great queue experience that I don’t mind waiting 1.5-2 hours for, the locker system is perfect, oh yeah and it’s very thrilling too. I can’t decide which inversion is my favorite between the stall and the mosasaurs roll right above the water at the very end. Never experienced anything like either of those on a coaster. There are a lot of great coasters down here but this one is probably my favorite. I unfortunately never got to experience the dueling dragons, but Hagrid’s is an absolute must. Not the biggest and fastest but the experience is unlike anything else, one of the best roller coasters in the world for theming alone.

The mosasaurus roll at the end over the lagoon struck such fear and joy into my heart that I burst into tears. Love this coaster and hope we see similar (upside down with lap retraint) coasters in the future

I just love how little effort they put into the theme "the theme is the theme" but it literally works so well

Ah, so there's a PURPOSE behind the light show and the build of the coaster trains (as far as keeping the raptors at bay). Fascinating to learn that actual science went into making that aspect of this ride. I wouldn't count on it working forever though. Velociraptors _"...show extreme intelligence, even problem-solving intelligence."_

As someone living in germany i'm quite pleased to see a german park on you're channel. Yes Taron is amazing and i can't wait to ride VelociCoaster for comparison but you have to look up a Kärnan at Hansa Park. This coaster has 74m Vertical lift wich stops and drops you down and rises you up again before reaching the top and conquering the rest of the coaster!

This is my favorite roller coaster I’ve ever been on. The whole experience (the queue is great, and the layout and ride itself is just as elite) is beyond phenomenal! I heard it was good, but I didn’t know it was THAT good!

I just spent a week at universal and rode this puppy a dozen times, and it’s a brilliant coaster! The last inversion over the water is especially spectacular. I love Maverick, but Velocicoaster is a notch above...It’s a must ride

Best ride I've ever been on. Seriously an amazing experience.

The lap bar restraint which Intamin introduced, was in reality an must have requirement from PhantasiaLand. Intamin proposed initial the same trains as on iSpeed, which PhantasiaLand declined. Phantasialand requested 3 major updates, which makes today intamin blitz the best launched coasters. First lap bar, very obvious. Second off set position of the seats (if you look at an Intamin train, you will see that the seats are not on the same line) , which gives riders a less obstructed riding view and adds to the excitement. Third, raised seating.

HOLY CRAP!!! WHAT A GREAT RIDE. Intense, surprising, speedy, brutal and an absolute capacity machine. Never saw the line exceed 60 minutes (which considering how new it is is impressive as hell). Ran flawlessly and only closed due to lightning in the area for 35 minutes. And the ride surpassed all the hype I had encounter heading in.

PS, hard lesson learned. If you wear a necklace and it can slip over your head without unclasping, TAKE IT OFF. You’ll lose it somewhere between the top hat and the end if you aren’t aware of the fact that it’s about fly off.

Aw man I went on it Saturday I knew it would be fast but that was just insane. It was a fantastic ride definitely my favorite ride of all time.

I'm not a roller coaster or theme park fan, but this thing is for lack of a better term, beautifully made and themed. I love seeing people put so much work into immersion on a ride.

Absolutely LOVED it... only got to go once as my 17 & 13yo (boys) said it was 'very' intense. But looking forward to riding it again in 4yrs when we go back for my 13yo's "senior trip"... look forward to taking the younger one on it... he's only 10 & I wasn't comfortable with him riding it because he is small for his age.

Just went on it last week. I got there at park opening and rode it twice, both waiting around 25 minutes. It's awesome!! The track was impressive (especially when you're over the lagoon), the queue was incredible (including preshow and locker system), and the safety restraints were extremely comfortable. The second time I rode it I knew what to expect, so I focused more on the technical side. I wish they had more interactions with the raptors, but I understand that the coaster is so fast, I'm sure most people wouldn't even notice. I also wish they had more surprises (although the second launch was awesome). Even though Hagrid is an entirely different coaster, it surprised me a few times, which defiantly enhanced the experience. As someone that lives close to Cedar Point, the track is comparable to some of the best CP coasters, but the technology and quality is a new level.

This coaster is amazing, I rode it last summer when my family visited the park from Chicago. Needless to say I’m already planning a trip back, and Universal and this Coaster are a big part of that.

I was just there last week, 9/27/21-10/01/21, had the pleasure of riding both Hagrids and VelociCoaster twice, and the Hulk twice. But the ones mentioned in this video are just amazing rides! Hagrids is so smooth and fun, it's incredibly fast and beautiful and VelociCoaster is definitely for the thrill seeker! Sleek and beautiful, this is one of thee best coasters I've ridden.

I was at universal last week. I have never really done roller coasters. Any I’ve done are kiddie coasters. Even though I haven’t ridden on any big coasters Velocicoaster 3 times and love it. Imo the line is more scary because I just get anxious and butterflies but once you go on the first launch, it’s nonstop fun. It’s amazing and the best ride I’ve ever done. I already miss it!

Just did a trip to islands of adventure last weekend and can confirm this roller coaster is INSANE

Just got three rides on this INCREDIBLE coaster this week. This easily became my #1 coaster. The line absolutely flew. The wait was at the entrance of the ride and I was on the train in 25 minutes. The queue was amazing. Jurassic Park is my favorite movie of all time and I'm a fan of all of the subsequent sequels. There were times I was upset the line moved so fast because I wanted to stay in line longer to look at all of the insane details the queue had to offer (not a complaint). And then the ride itself. OH MY GOD! This ride is the total package. Great laterals, hang time, ejector airtime, intensity, 2 great launches, and somehow a ride time that seemed to go on forever. Coaster enthusiasts, put this on your bucket list immediately!

I had a fantastic time on the ride! I travelled down with my Mother during the may previews, and only had the ticket for one person: but the cast member let my mother and I both ride it! Safe to say it was absolutely fantastic!!

You never "coast" when it comes to quality videos. I can tell you are flying on high "Veloc"ity when it comes to excellence.

I'm excited to ride in the future. Speaking as a Western European citizen. I've been to the theme parks in Florida around Disney World and else, but back in 2004-05 and these new coasters weren't there yet. But I'm excited in trying them if on vacation/holiday I would visit Florida again.

I actually got to ride this ride with my poppy (grandpa) when we got to go to Universal back in December for the first time! Even though I had a little trouble getting properly into my seat since I am short and a bit chubby, I still loved that ride! We sat in the back row and it was awesome!

I rode it today and OH MY GOD! I didn't want to go on anything else. Nothing could top that!

VelociCoaster was my favorite part of my trip to florida. Only got to ride it twice, but god it was so good! If you get the chance, ride it at day and night. Both experiences are amazing and different.

I got to ride it for passholder previews, it was incredible. I got to go again multiple times during soft openings. It is such a great attraction!

On the morning of Thursday, September 14, 2023, my family and I walked into Islands of Adventure and Velocicoaster had a wait time of 15 minutes upon opening. Knowing I’d likely NEVER get another chance like this, my wife told me to run to Velocicoaster, which I did. 15 mins was all I waited, and most of that was in the queue for front row. My first ride on Velocicoaster was amazing in the front row. I would later get one more spin on the coaster in row 6 after waiting about 20-25 mins. After my two rides, it was official: Velocicoaster was my favorite rollercoaster of ALL TIME. From the theming in the queue, to the elements of the ride, to its intensity and smoothness, it just blew away all of its competitors for me, and stood head and shoulders above them. It’s an amazing ride, and deserving of all the accolades it receives. This is how you theme a rollercoaster. This is how you figure the DNA of a great experience, from the queue to the off ramp when exiting the ride. To anyone reading: if you have never ridden Velocicoaster, you really should, it’s one of the best rollercoasters on this planet.

The clips of Maverick really makes me want to visit cedar point! Hopefully next year! VelociCoaster is amazing and a fantastic addition to IOA. This video was so fun!

Cedar point for coaster. The only thing you’ll miss out is the heart line roll on VC. Besides that, Maverick at CP is the same type of coaster to VC.

We rode it in February 2022 and loved it! The wait time was much better than the 2 hours we spent waiting to ride Hagrid's that kept breaking down.

I love the velocicoaster! It was really cool the way you laid out the history and description of the ride! Well done!

They let us ride it the weekend before it officially opened, and wow what a coaster. The speed up mid-ride was mind blowing when you had no idea it was coming. Sounded amazing too! Nice piece.

I tried out the ride for the first time yesterday, and oh my God, it was incredible!!! One of my new favorite rides due to its speed, theming, and how smooth it felt! I love the rush of it all!

Velocicoaster doesnt disapoint. Im stoked that Orlando finally has a coaster comparable to the likes of Six Flags and Cedar Point (which I will get to some day!). Absolutely a must ride!!

Rode this twice last week. Fantastic! So much fun. I'm older, and twitchy coasters make my neck sore, but this was completely smooth. A near perfect ride.

I haven't had the chance to ride Hagrid's or Velocicoaster and I know they will both be amazing, but I still miss Dueling Dragons. They were so unique and thrilling. The hanging, two completely different coaster tracks, and near misses all made for such a fun and different ride experience. Although the experience was ruined a lot once they stopped allowing them to duel, it sucks they couldn't find more room somewhere else to add Hagrid's. Wouldn't have been upset if they got rid of the whole Lost Continent for Hagrid's lol. That would have really made Island's a super thrilling park.

I think that the Lost Continent’s days need to be done. When we were down there in April we peeked in the Lost Continent and what remains, well, is lackluster compared to what surrounds it. Islands of Adventure has begun an evolution, first with Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, and continuing with Velocicoaster. It must continue.

I am sadly too tall/fat (not sure which really plays the most) for Hagrids :( Literally the ONLY ride at Universal I can't ride.

This was such an incredible ride. Every element rolled into the next so smoothly. We rode in the front then the back and both delivered. I was originally really nervous to ride it as I do love a shoulder harness but about 2 seconds into the launch, I knew it was jumping to the top of my favorite coasters list.

I love seeing other travel/disney/universal you tubers in each others’ videos ❤️

I rode the Velocicoaster a few days ago and it was hands down the best coaster I have ever been on. The restraint system is crazy. I normally go no hands but you feel so free it feels like a horrible idea to let go. I loved it!

I'm still salty over dueling dragons being taken out, that thing looked so freakin' cool as a kid

Me too. I rode it a like a week before it closed and had no idea. I didn't think it was that intense though like people say and I'm also kind of a wuss.

I’m salty too - I LOVED Dueling Dragons and still miss it when I go to the parks 😅

OH! HELL! YEAH! Cannot wait to ride it when I visit this coming August (& hopefully this October as well).

You do such an amazing job on these videos and details. Love watching your videos.

I think I ride it 6 times on my last trip in November of 23, absolutely a must ride, intense, fun, feels like your getting triple the air time because of the seat designs

Great video Sam - love the context and detail and it’s a brilliant inside look at this amazing ride. I also love the Jurassic quotes throughout - the mark of a true fan! The theming looks amazing and I love the little details that the team have put into the ride - as you say many people will not be aware of them. It’s a real shame as it adds to the story and your excitement for the ride (I remember Back to the Future was much more enjoyable if you had to queue as you got so much pre ride info on the preshow in the queue that you were really up for it by the time you got on the ride!) Your videos are always amazingly researched but the background info here is outstanding - great job. It certainly looks like a ride worth waiting 65 million years for…..

I’ve ridden more or less every coaster at the four major parks in Orlando/Tampa and can confirm this hands down the best

Excellent video and full summary of the history. This review was also a rave as it should be, the ride is near perfect.

I went in May, I was hopin to get on it, but everything was a 3hr wait. Def gettin on next time for sure, just seein it up close was awesome

Going next weekend I’m by far so excited for this one I went right before it opened but got to see the testing and I knew then it would be one for the books! Can’t wait to see what’s it actually like!

I've been on 19 times, and have a Velocicoaster tattoo!!! Between it being an amazing Coaster (awesome job Intamin) and having top-notch theming, it quickly became my favorite attraction ever! Also, I love that you covered this so quickly! You're one of my favorite channels!

Just got back from universal studios loved this coaster, I have rode pretty much every coaster in Florida and this one is my favorite.

I rode this ride on 6/27/21 and was not disappointed! 10/10

Rode this yesterday and it’s insane!

Rode this for the first time last month and my god it’s incredibly intense! That roll over the lake takes your breath away 🤪 What a coaster! Been waiting for something like this at islands of adventure my whole life 😭😂👍🏼👍🏼

I was actually there opening day! It is a definite must ride, one of the best rides i have been on!

Went on this yesterday, my butt was out of the seat a good majority of the ride, it was extremely fast and the drop before you go over the water took my breath away. Great ride that i highly recommend if your looking for a thrill
