Xiao Quanzi is under her protection and she is under his so long as they both live.

He may be a traitor, but he will serve only one master. And that's Wei Yinglou. GOSH, I LOVE HIM!!

Because she laid it out for him clearly: He'd already betrayed his master, so no one else would ever take him in. If he wanted to live well, he had to be loyal to her for the rest of his life, and he ain't no fool, so that's exactly what he did.

Xiao Quanzi really suits Yingluo’s personality, she doesn’t have to explain in depth to him… he just gets it/her. I absolutely adore him.❤

would agree with you to a point!! However her fateful mistake was made much earlier by taking on Yuan chunwang to spy on consort Ling!! Then by accepting him into her palace and making him Steward gave him carte blanche to enact his master plan of vengeance on the royal house, only then at the end of story that plan was exposed. A masterful sidebar hidden amidst the plethora of schemes!!

Yuan Chunwang really deserved to die for the crimes he committed to Wei Yingluo during her house arrest. The Emperor wanted to cane him to death but Wei Yingluo wanted to spare his life thinking he’s learned his lesson, and the Queen’s maid Zhen’er loves Yuan Chunwang begging her master to spare and forgive him. If anything he shouldn’t escape punishment, since the 200 whips were meant to take his life, Yuan Chunwang should have been disabled to prevent future mishaps (in an alternate path to the original). Something like taking away his ability to speak, making him deaf, or maiming a body part.

But how can one know who is going to be grateful like Xiao Quanzi and who is going to try to stir trouble? :/ plus if she had refused then her own servant might hold a grudge for it.. This eunuch was also seemingly sincere at this moment since he has the ability to reflect and give replies that exhibit sincerity although he was very tortured.. Tbh this guy creeps me out.. Honestly, I feel that this was a plothole as lowly eunuchs really had no ability to affect the imperial family the way this eunuch did..

Lol. You need all kinds of servants. The ambitious and selfish can be VERY useful if they are intelligent, have skills and you can convince them they are better off serving you loyally. Yinglou was Quanzi's last chance at being somebody.

xiao quanzi deserves a medal for this. i was pleased when he snuck in food for yingluo, but i had no clue that he was playing yuan like a fiddle at the same time. 😂
