Honduran and Guatemalan culture is closer to that of Mexico or the rest of Central America and South America to be honest. As far as them being black I never argued that, slavery took place all over the americas. But Afro Caribbean isn’t a thing, this is just people trying to put labels on everything. If you’re Caribbean you’re Caribbean that’s just a region my ethnic background is something different, there’s no need to ever say Afro Caribbean

NYC is corporate hip hop now, ain’t no real movement going on. Drill is just gang stuff

@@jhamircounsel711 you named one artist and his sound was emulating my era of the 90’s! As far as other people of Caribbean descent, they still lived around mostly blk Americans. They didn’t start coming in large numbers until the 1980’s, before that the number stayed around 350,000 in population for the whole country. In NYC, they were around 250,000 while blk American were over 1,000,000. Puerto Rican’s we’re over 1,000,000 as well but most of them stayed to themselves before the late 90’s Remember, the Caribbean is not a country, but America is, that’s why blk American culture is what United everyone. Even though people try to make the Caribbean one place, it’s not, each country has a different history, living in America you still blk so most just emulated what was around them just like any human would I’m not dissing, I grew up with people from damn near every country in the Caribbean, I’m just telling what I think it is Hip hop is an energy not a place!. Once you study blk American history, you will understand why it started, and why it got so big in nyc. I’ll give you a hint “black power”

Black Americans from other states in the south only stated to arrive in mass to northern states during the “Great Migration” [1910-1940]. The first Black Americans in NYC for the most part….were direct imports from the British Caribbean, which was part of what was known then as "British America". That’s a Fact. John B Russworm was born a slave in Port Antonio Jamaica, and was the first black college graduate in the USA. In 1827 while living in NYC he started the first black owned media in America, it was an abolitionist newspaper called “The Freedom Press”. It was the Caribbean blacks that spearheaded and were at the center of the Harlem Renaissance in the early 20th Century. Both Martin Luther King and Maclolm X were followers of the philosophies of Marcus Garvey a Jamaican. Malcolm X was of Caribbean descent, and the leader of the NOI today… is Farakan and he is Caribbean of Jamaican and St.kitts descent….The GodFather of Hip Hop is Of Caribbean Descent……Hip Hop since the very beginning has been Very Caribbean…Afro Carribean BEEN putting in work...the history of New York directly tied to the Caribbean .
