Appreciate the clarification. Let this be a lesson. Quality over quantity. I get that you’re in a rush against competition but cmon. You google Ma’s name and it literally says he’s Korean on the first column. When you have a reach of almost 1 million people you gotta get facts right. There’s going to be people who don’t bother to look at the comments and just assume Ma is from Hong Kong. Big fan of screencrush. Big fan of Ma.

Correction: Ma Dong Seok is an actor of Korean origin, not Hong Kong - He is most famously known for his role in korean zombie film Train to Busan

Within the MCU, Carol didn’t get her powers directly from the Space Stone, that was already on the ship that Mar-Vel was trying to get to when attacked by Yon-Rogg. It was the engine derived from the Space Stone/Tesaract that gave her, her powers. She also didn’t seem to weaken in the five year time skip when the Stone had already been destroyed. So I think her being weaker because the Space Stone is gone is a nonstarter.

@@ericf256 well, take My Hero Academia for example. The trope actually works with in the realm of the story due to the circumstances the mangka (Horikoshi) created. The character of All Might was quirkless from birth, gained his quirk by being given it (along with the burden of the fight of the most powerful villain it comes with) and when he passes it on, he will eventually become quirkless again since he didn’t have one before he received it (unlike the other users, who passes on a copy of their quirk due to the combination of the quirks that created it, along with a memory imprint of themselves to the next user.....though most of the users died shortly after passing it on). The fight where All Might loses the quirk or super power, is the best one in the anime so far, still in the top five within the manga, it made so much thematic sense to lose his power at that moment. So, it depends on the when and why of it all. With Carol, it wouldn’t make sense nor would be entertaining at all.

@@pt2k645 Yes, and another thing we are all forgetting is that Carol recieved her powers from Mar-Vell's lightspeed engine, which was derived from the power of the Tesseract but was not the Tesseract itself. By that logic, all lightspeed engines should also stop working. However you are correct, all of this debate is irrelevant because the Stones still exist in atomic form.

"Something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT", not if you've been reading Marvel Comics since the 60s.

It just occurred to me that the Black Panther title change could mean they're making an effort to turn the movie into more of an ensemble story line, like The Eternals, rather than focusing on just one single Black Panther heroic character trying to take up the mantle. Like if Namor really is in it as an antagonist he probably attempts to over through the country with the death of T'challa leading to multiple heroes to banding together to fight him off and save their land... Theoretically, of course.

Never read the comics, and I barely know anything about them, but I’m stoked about this purely from a creation/origin point of view. It will be satisfying to finally get a grip on what the cosmic hierarchies really are.

I remember reading the Gaiman run of The Eternals in college and thinking we’d get a film or series about this crazy ass comic. Lo and behold, Marvel is doing just that. This film looks amazing impo. Chloe Zhaou is a great storyteller and knows how to build a world and let characters actually experience it. I can’t wait!!!

Putting someone down to raise another up is not what Stan Lee would have wanted. I'm sure he would appreciate that stories are told in many and can be told by many people, thus a person can enjoy stories from either Marvel or DC stripped away from all the glitz and billion-dollar budgets. It's easy to get carried away by the excitement and let humility slip, so it's good to remember that the world is a richer place when we all respect each other and it doesn't always have to be a war of sides.

Yes absolutely excited to see what they do with the Eternals. I didn’t read much comics with the Eternals but it was the same for me with the Guardians.. but I ended up loving it.! But I admit I’m most excited to see Black Knight (one of my favorites) and the rumor of a possible appearance of young Namor. Now that would be amazing.

I'm a comic book nerd going back to the 1980s and even I have trouble keeping track of the Eternals. They've BARELY been integrated in the comics, usually existing in limited series of their own.

1st of all that whole sizzle reel gave me goosebumps it was SO well done! Love the MCU. Also what a barrage of things to come! the Eternals are a DEEP CUT from the Marvel catalog. I'm more invested in the story and possible groundwork this will lay down for the MCU more so than any of the characters.

Super excited about this movie! (And all of them, you know) Wasn't blown away by the Gaiman run in the comics though. The best Eternals run is the second one, in the 80s, which completed the story Kirby started. Not fussed about what they use for the film, it's gonna be awesome whatever!

If Carol loses some of her powers, I would prefer she lose those powers to Rogue, like in the comics.

I'm super psyched for The Eternals! This next phase is going to be fantastic!

Carol denver’s losses her powers because Rouge absorb them.

Carol got her powers from the space stone and Wanda (to an extent, considering she’s a witch) got hers from the mind stone. She didn’t lose her powers after it was destroyed, so it stands to reason Carol won’t lose hers.

One thing people seem to forget. The infinity stone were "reduced to atoms"... Which means they are still in the universe. They are just very small. So, if "someone" could go to that planet and get very small... (cough cough) ANTMAN (cough cough)... They could re-enlarge the stone back to their original size. But that is just me thinking out loud.

This is the one I’m most excited for as well. It’s not just gonna be different in terms of the style, it’s gonna be different in terms of how it fits into the broad history of the mcu. Also it kinda helps that literally everyone involved with this movie is f*cking amazing, from Ramin Djawadi, to Chloe Zhao to Angelina Jolie.
