Looking down rather than straight through the viewfinder allows you to take a candid shot of someone without appearing to take their photo. The photographer Vivian Maier was able to get her beautiful street scenes this way.

I’ll have to check this out, I got the x570 after watching your video. I got the 85mm f/2 lens for it and it’s been absolutely amazing, it was a huge upgrade over the 50mm f/1.7

Curious what you paid for it? I've obtained one of these a few months ago, I'm a seller on platforms like ebay, mercari, etc, and I'm likely going to be selling it soon. Tested and working.

@@mr-toyota it was $300 in absolute mint condition. Even though it is better than the other Minolta 85 lenses it is the cheapest

@@taylora5224 Sweet. I appreciate your response. I've got the x570, a couple accessories, and a bag. I think it'll be great on my store to the right buyer. Not many people I think are looking for these sort of cameras but I know there's some people who recognize their possibilities.

Yes! It does work with the K1000 I have tested it. It should work with most cameras whose viewfinders have two slits on the sides.

Hey man love the vids, just a question, do you have to use that specific viewfinder or could you use other viewfinders from other brands like canon on my Minolta? You lowkey inflated the market with that product…

oh no! haha i didn’t realize the effects i had on the market. i am not sure if other brands of viewfinders would work. i’ve tested the minolta viewfinder on the pentax k1000, so perhaps a pentax viewfinder might work on the minolta? there is little information about many of these accessories so it’s always a gamble testing them out.

Awesome and very informative video man! Do you think this would work with a Minolta SRT 101? The focusing on that thing is a mess lol

i’d say it probably should work since it’s a Minolta camera. though since i can’t test it i can’t say for sure.

i’d say the only accessory you might want at night is a shutter release cable

15 dollars wow... I can only find ones for 50€

where do u get your film developed to your phone?

i get them developed at a local store then i scan the developed film myself on a flatbed scanner!
