"Buy Nice or Buy Twice" - This is good advice for tripods, too. I bought a nice Sachtler fluid head tripod and I've been using it for over 12 years. 😎

I need to invest in a good tripod! The Sachtler system is without a doubt a beautiful system. Thanks for tuning in.

For me it's gonna have to be my ninja v , the screen is sharp bright and colour accurate, amazing for the price small HD is too expensive for me and haven't seen much of a difference between the small HD and ninja, I know what I see on the ninja v is what I get

I’m still using the atoms shogun flame 7. Looking at getting a new monitor due to the time code port stopped working

Have you tried the Portkeys PT6? I know it has nothing to do with SmallHD hahahaa but it’s the one I’m using right now…. Thinking about upgrading to the Shinobi 5

Yes I own the PT6 also, it honestly for the price a good little monitor but the OS is awful and I can never get accurate colours out of it so most the time I feel like throwing it into the trash haha

How's the small HD hold up about *OVERHEATING* ? I heard about Ninja V overheating but mistakenly presumed reports about I heard were by users with exceptionally long duration recordings at Hi-Rez (4K), high bitrates, complex LUTS, etc.... man was I *deadass **_WRONG._* Sometimes I can't even get 15-20 mins before mine shuts down. Varies. Moody. Unreliable. So right now that's my #1 MAIN concern. I know there's other things to consider & appreciate but after that experience, I'm so apprehensive I'm freaking out in fear I might get a replacement that _turns out_ *has the same problem.* ...Aaargh.....scared witless.... Tell me what to do !!!!! ((( Ian, seriously, I'm not jokin.. !! )))

So the smallhd is not a recorder so that’s my first word of warning ⚠️ as you say you use the v for recording. The SmallHD are built like tanks and I’ve never had mine or any I’ve used overheat. In my opinion SmallHD is another league compared to Atomos. Thanks for watching

@@IanSnape I'm cool with it not recording. Atomos former dual-capability no longer packs the sales pitch stranglehold it used to since cams now are direct-output-to-SSD capable. The revolution is finally here ! " Built like a tank and never had nor used any that overheated "(paraphrased) was what I really needed to hear !! Thanks Ian. *Liked | Subbed*

This comment is unrelated to the subject of this video but I have to ask, what is up with these professional youtube channels showing higher end cameras and lenses, reviewing an expensive monitor and holding their cheap prosumer microphone. Is it product placement? I would presume Ian has and knows how to use a lav. Or a boom. Something else. You took the time to light the set and expose everything correctly. Why hold the mic? I also dislike seeing this form of microphone just magnetically attached to the shirt. If you are in a run and gun situation, I get it. But you are in a studio. This is such a pet peeve of mine. Is DJI paying you to make sure their mic is visible?

First it’s a rode mic, but thanks for the comment. It’s more the fact it’s a lot easier to do it than boom and setup up that or lav myself up. It takes a lot of time to write, setup and edit these videos so it’s more the fact that it speeds up the process for me. Sorry you didn’t enjoy that part, maybe I’ll boom it again soon! I’m in-fact moving to a new location soon that i can have permanent setup so I’ll be sure to have my Rode poster on the wall. I also was not sponsored or am sponsored to make these video, I do it alongside a full time job and get paid zero pennies. Thanks again
