The Escape of Tina Kleinfelder | An award winning, Wes Anderson style, mockumentary
Фильм және анимация
A prisoner breaks out of prison and must persuade lemonade-selling sisters to help him find his money stash.
This film was written, shot, and edited in 48 hours! It won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Supporting Actresses (they both won!), and Audience Choice.
Some background on this story! We actually had this idea of a prisoner partnering up with two children selling lemonade around 3 years ago. However, we never did anything with it. It was just dinner table talk. When we decided to do the 48 this year and went towards a Wes Anderson feel, we brought up that idea again. If we drew a genre that could fit with the idea, then we would make it work.
We drew mockumentary/horror. So, we were like, wait a minute, can we combine Wes Anderson and mockumentary? And this was the result!

Oh, the most expensive lemonade ever in 1943.
Wow, that was actually very very good. You really captured the Anderson style, and it seemed like an homage rather than a rip-off; I like the originality in the concept too.

Thank you! I think that was the goal. It's a fine balance between copying existing work and innovating on it. We actually really like the combination of the mockumentary and quirky camera moves. I think there's more to be done with something like that.
The plot twist was amazine and the colour scheme was *french kiss*
Really well done. Got a good chuckle outta me.

Thanks! So, non-existent basically, ha. We put close to $400 into the film. $150 went to lenses, then the other $250 went to meals, craft services, wardrobe, and props. A lot of great people volunteered their time!
He'll be fine.
