Wow, what a terrific art historical treatment of this fascinating construction! Absolutely my favorite structure on the Acropolis, you've really given me the tour I've always wanted. The jumbled arrangement of this building has always been so intriguing. To learn in school all of the elements that are encompassed by this was just so much fun. It is so elegant and creepy at the same time. There just seems to be something secret about this that hasn't been discovered yet. Thank you for producing such a well-considered examination of this, it's very much appreciated!
Was there in June on a tour. Fascinating history..Amazing architecture!

It looks an amazing palce to visit and explore.
My ancestors were unbelievable....simply put. when I first walked through the portico of the Acropolis and saw the Parthenon and Erechtheum.... my dream came true...I cried like a new born child ...running up to both temples....shouting, like a madman, the very first thing that came to mind....YASSOU KUKLA MOU. ZOUME

Agreed - a lovely tribute to history.
Thank you! Finally, context! I’d only heard that the Erectheion was sacred, had pillars shaped like women, and “Yada yada yada!” Thank you!
