Pitch Perfect 2 was great but when I saw the third movie, by the end I had this ongoing thought process of "Be honest with me, guys, why does this exist?" And it doesn't help that I'd seen The Last Jedi the week or two before and had come out of the theater thinking it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. 😆

i love how anna kendrick said she agrees that beca is a lesbian and played her as one. she refused to let anything happen between her and turtle boy in the 3rd, like literally refused to shoot a version with a kiss scene bc she said she knew they'd just use that, (and pushed for a beca and chloe kiss - dont know if it was just that jokey one that got leaked a while back or for real but still) she has truly been the captain of the bechloe ship and it honestly makes me feel a little better about all the queerbaiting that went on in and around the movies, like at least she's supportive and trying and being as gay as possible for us 😂😂

I legitimately forget that there's a third movie so often. They tried to go bigger and more exciting with every movie, but I think what made people like Pitch Perfect in the first place was that it was just about different women coming together and forming a really great friendship while singing some fun songs. It was a simple premise and it nailed that simplicity.

I love how Becca calls the producer guy a turtle one time, and then Trin refers to him as “turtle face” for the rest of the movie

I've always loved how simplistic the first one is compared to the others. Just college students trying to get along and win the competition.

The fact that they didn’t make Benji actually gay INFURIATES me so much!! They just wanted to give Hailee’s character an arc. Someone already said this but her character feels like someone wrote the character in for a fanfic

I was really mad when they didn't win in the second movie and the reason why they lost gives me second hand embarrassment every single time

In the German version, both groups speak German which creates a really funny "language barrier" moment lol

fun fact, anna kendrick really didn't want her character to end up with the turtle guy in the end, which is why she made the decision of becca being super uninterested in him, however the original script intended her getting with turtle boy also yes, big yikes on the military propaganda in the third

becca only got in because chloe was in love with her. i will die on this hill.

I dont get offended by how american movies portray germans (I'm half german half American) because whatever its fine but like no german band has that bad an accent when singing in English. Think of the scorpions. such an amazing band and you can barely tell they're german. Its really dumb. But the movie is pretty self depricating too ("the whole world hates us") so I don't really mind.

My claim to fame is that I went to high school with Adam Devine (same year). I was in choir and drama with him. He was a super nice and funny guy, I was not at all surprised he went places :D

Becca in the first movie is completely different than other movies and I feel like that was because they let Anna have too much freedom and improv chances that the character just became Anna and Becca was gone

Yup, or a longer more harsh way of saying it is: "if you don't succeed on your first try, quit now. Get out, you aren't my daughter and don't deserve to be cared for by me. You're a failure and I want nothing to do with you." Which is funny because if he's military, a lot of the military isn't about succeeding on your first try or doing everything perfect in one shot. It's a lot about toughing it out and refusing to give up, rather than just you mess up once then give up and get out. In fact, one of the things about boot camp or the navy seals or any of the special forces training and selection processes is also about weeding out the people who would just quit when it gets tough or things go wrong.

Props to Trin for still filming and being entertaining while on her first day of a period, damn!

I remembered watching pitch perfect 3 in theaters and my parents paid for my ticket and afterwards I straight asked them if they want me to pay them back

I love these films but they’re literally so homophobic, like the queer baiting and also the only main queer character (who is also the only main black character) is portrayed as super duper predatory 🙃

Becca’s character is definitely queerbaiting, like they make her as much of a lesbian as they could, but not actually making her lesbian. I found that so annoying.

Honestly this could have ended with Pitch Perfect 2. It seemed like a heartfelt closer

@@Nightbat1321 lol yeah. I go on IMDb on all the movies I see and see if it’s written by a book. Pitch Perfect was based on a book and characters were created by some man. I think he just liked Acappalla and thought of writing a book about college girls singing.

I love how it feels like every time it cut back from the movie to Trin, she was buried further and further beneath her stuffed animals.

the first movie is like one of my comfort movies because it's easy to watch and the songs are good. I always thought it should have been a one-off movie and that the sequels lessened the impact that the first one had... also they really double-downed on the "main characters say queer coded things as jokes" in the sequels slkfslkdgnk

"They look way to similar" I SAT HERE FOR I DON'T REMEMBER HOW MANY YEARS THINKING THEY WERE THE SAME PERSON. Benji and Jesse are the SAME. PERSON.

26: 15 For DAS Sound Machine the woman who portrays her is not even German. You can hear that she doesn't know how to speak German and has a thick accent, so it makes sense that they didn't sing in German. Coming from a German.
