The manga does both Chazz and Atticus so much justice, in the anime they got reduced to comic relief so badly.

I'll disagree with Chazz/Manjoume though. Yes he gets more wins and focus in the manga but the dude is 100x more boring than his anime counterpart. Anime version is actually interesting to see around other characters

It's crazy how the manga and anime are so different

The GX anime definitely has the stronger story and plot, but the manga definitely characterizes Jaden better while propping up everyone else at Duel Academy. As cool as Neos is, especially as an ace monster, but masked heroes are such a cooler archetype

honestly i would say the problem with the Neos archetype is that Neos and his fusion forms are super cool, but the Neos spacians vary around mid by themselves since they've long since lost effectiveness to be anything other than fusion material.

@@darknessknows1235 The exception I always used even in non Heroes decks, were.. Ground Mole. Send an opponents monster to the hand? That's hella useful.

Manga Atticus is my probably my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh character. He was so cool in the manga. I really liked how they foreshadowed Atticus and Zane before their debuts too. Atticus was such a strong duelist the villain had to cheat just for him to lose one duel. And he defeated Jaden the main character pretty easily. Zane Atticus were definitely the 2 strongest Duelists in the manga

Honestly, this makes more sense than the anime. The character's are developed more, Bastion doesn't just decide "I'm gonna stay in this dimension and leave my family behind" unless he was an orphan, Chazz gets some good development and becomes an even closer friend to Jaden along with Syrus and Alexis (which I'm still positive she's going to be more than that, just not right now) and in a world where you go to an academy, I'm pretty sure you'd want to become a "pro" in this world instead of just going off on some adventure and leave your loved ones behind. The anime tried too hard to be funny and yet somehow serious.

I'd love to see a video about the 5D's manga! It's my favorite Yugioh anime, but I've never read the manga. It's wild how different... well, almost everything is in the GX manga.

I loved both, there are elements about the anime that I loved, and there are elements about the manga that I loved. Both are incredibly enjoyable.

I like how the Manga was a little bit more serious than the anime and it gave the side characters a little bit more to do but I don't like how they kind of sideline Jaden himself towards halfway through their the manga especially towards the final art like if Jaden Yugi's the main character he shouldn't be ranking up losses after losses especially when his deck in the real world would be able to beat some of the people that he was losing too so it just didn't make logical sense and I hate that towards the final Arc especially when they were showing the planet cards how the duels were rushed but other than that the Manga pretty cool.

Jaden actually losing more often is what makes the manga better imo. The Anime quickly devolved into a generic Shonen, where only the MC is allowed to take out the major threats, usually by having ridiculous plot armor.

@@vahlen5281 No not really because Jaden is supposed to be the main character of Yu-Gi-Oh GX right And then they give him a new deck which his mass heroes are better than his elemental planet deck but he was winning more with his elemental planet deck then his mass heroes which shows that he was only powerful because he was using someone else's deck if you're going to transition a character's deck like they did with Jaden You need to actually have a strong showing for that deck when he was just waking up losses with his mass heroes when we know his mass heroes are actually better than his elemental planet deck nah logic don't make sense at that point I'm all for him losing but not constantly losing like that one especially when the reason why he lost in the first place and got a new deck was because of his defeat So when he gets a new deck he shouldn't be ranking up losses after losses with his new deck because then it's just like what was the point of transitioning him from making a new deck if he's going to lose now if he was having a strong showing with his new deck and then he lost a few times sure but he lost more than he won with his new mass hero deck and again if you know what mass heroes are he really shouldn't have been losing those duels and it just felt like they gave up halfway through the manga and rushed it instead of actually embracing and enjoying it like they did when Jaden got his neospatience in the anime So no it didn't make logical sense. Cuz you're supposed to show Jaden on his own like hey I got this deck I can do it by myself I don't need to rely on using someone else's deck but it seemed like he might as well have kept using the elemental planet deck then using his mask hero since he kept losing often with the mask heroes

@@treymykel although tbf, while Jaden does say his deck is the strongest/coolest when Koyo was using it, other characters who did know Koyo imply that Jaden was on the same level if not stronger(probably because of his draw power). I agree that he shouldve won more with the masked heroes, especially since we don't have enough main/extra monsters. Considering his last duel pulled out contrast hero chaos, we could probably assume that main deck effect monsters and fusions of the masked heroes boosted him to the same level as when he was using Koyo's modified deck(iirc he did change it up)

@treymykel Jaden in the anime have some ridiculous plot Armour, and just because he is the MC, it does not translate to being undefeatable, it actually makes more sense for the MC to lose, to get more humbled so his winnings are more meaningful, whereas in the anime, Jaden is invincible, with his ego above the clouds, and nothing fazes him. Oh, I'm a spirit from beyond the grave Jaden: Cool Oh, I'm a killer that can send people to the shadow realm Jaden: Cool Oh, my brother just got hit by a car Jaden: cool The dubs were so bad in comparison with the subs, and a lot of the story got lost in translation.

thanks for your hardwork. I know like both anime and manga. The manga makes the protagonist having wins and losses are more realistic than his almost win everytime I have a spirit card girlfriend vibe

I think in the end the anime might have done a better job at building decks and getting different plots/arcs going. Don't know enough to judge the characters development but the anime did have quite a lot about the side characters.

Pretty great summary of the Yugioh gx manga. I still like the anime more, but I like the gx manga.

I prefer the Manga, mainly because they removed a lot of Jaden’s plot armor. He just seemed too overpowered from the start of the show. The top Duelist in the Manga being Koyo at 1st, Zane and Atticus are probably evenly matched, followed by Aster, then Chazz and Jaden (probably even). I’m perfectly content with Jaden eventually passing everyone up and being number 1, but I do love that there are actual characters that rival him.

This is how anime chazz should've been

I would love for them to make a remake of the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise while mixing elements of both anime and manga. For example, they could mix elements of this arc with the Rise of the Sacred Bests arc. They could also, then, mix more elements from the manga with the Society of Light arc to make it better. Towards the end of this arc, Jaden adds Masked HEROes to his deck, which would be a mix of Elemental and Masked HEROes at this point to make it more powerful in order to beat Aster...etc. They can mix in the rest of the elements from the manga with the Quest for the Rainbow Dragon arc. At the start of this arc, some of the students, including Jaden are separated, that's when Jaden gets pulled into this pocket dimension where he gets Neos and his Neo Spacian cards. This makes sense considering the history Jaden has with them as he was the one who created them and sent his Yubel card with them, hoping that it would make it safer to use. The cards simply call out to Jaden to warn him of the danger he and his friends are in and to join the fight. Things go as they did in the anime. Instead of having the arc focus on them getting the Rainbow Dragon card, it would focus on them getting the Light and Dark Dragon as having the Chazz version from the Manga with Jaden makes more sense cuz they seem to have more of a bond than the one Jaden and Jesse had in both the anime and manga. Chazz gets stuck, Jaden and his friends go back to save him, and things play out the way they did in the anime, with minor improvements of course. As for season 4, they could use the final element from the manga, which is the shadow. they can use it instead of the Darkness (Nightshroud), which would link the story to the Duel Monsters part. That and some other changes to the events of the final season, would make it better. For the end, we can have the Yugi Vs. Jaden bit but as a dream, which Jaden would lose. This should remind Jaden of the importance of having fun. For the final couple of episodes we move a few years into the future. Jaden is now an adult in his early 20's. We get Jaden vs. the guy who taught him how to duel. Jaden beats him and moves on to the final duel against Yugi for real this time. And the show ends before the duel starts, leaving us to speculate.

GX manga was really cool

Jaiden actually used good HERO fusions in the manga and they added interesting characters and archetypes but nerfed the season 3 side characters.

I wish we could get a ova based on the manga i’d love to see the masked heroes animated

Same problem as Flamed wingman and basically his deck in the 1st season. Too hyperspecific and too dependent on polymerization. Neos and Neo spacians only requirement are 2 literal fields and even without Neo space The cards are still good

My personal head cannon on this is that this is Jesse’s original deck. Pegasus saw him in a tournament which awaken the Crystal beasts in his briefcase shortly after, pegasus gifts these cards to him, and we never see him use his other deck after this
