My first ever runescape friend was Taco75, back in 2006-2007. We met at the cows in lumby, added each other, and never spoke again. I don’t know why I’ve remembered his name all of these years, but if you’re out there Taco75, I love you and miss you bro. I hope you’re thriving and in good health.

Castle wars was absolutely my most nostalgic places for me. When I was like 14 my best friend from school and I would farm out quests and save up for items just to go play castle wars using them. I’m 32 now and still remember those times

Sameee, when I was like 9-10 years old I went there on my level 5 account (i sucked and never even bothered training combat haha), my account was Blue Frog53 (still my account to this day, with a new name ofc) and the people in cw found it funny that a noob like me was just tagging along for the fun, so several times I amassed a team of protectors who kept me alive at all cost, and I was able to smuggle the flag by having them escort and protect me haha, castle wars is my fondest memory from the 2006-2007 era for sure :')

I’m glad I enjoyed OSRS in its golden year of 2006. I played a little when the GE come out but I fell off very shortly after. Just started again 4 days ago, joined the OSRS Discord, and immediately received help, guiding me in the right direction and about the OSRS wiki and how helpful it is. The server even has a bot that automatically detects what you’re talking about (if you want it to) to link you to an article in the wiki regarding said topic. Everyone in there is super helpful and incredibly nice, and not afraid to throw a little classic “free armor trimming” style humor in there. I love this game and its community with a passion.

Wow, the history of Old Nite was super cool. Very short part of the entire video but I've always found it strange that there was a random hill with a statue of a dude in the middle of the wilderness. Thanks for including that.

Turns out the statue was actually there before he passed away & is unrelated to the old nite, however there is a pub in ferox enclave called 'The old nite' which has been made in his honour 😁

I remember 2006. I was 13, would play after I got off school with one of my classmates. Runescape was so alive, the wilderness was absolutely packed. It was big fish eat little fish all out war whenever school got off.

I played until right before the 2007 era. I just started again a little over a year ago. 115 combat & 1981 total & decently solid boss kc. Not really into raids yet (mostly mobile & I’m trash) but this took me back with also filling in everything I’ve missed over the years. Great watch!!

I can still remember the first day I played RS it was 2006 I was in school and 5 of my friends played so my neighbor helped me get started. I quit in 2011 because it just isn’t the same, but I still watch videos and plan to come back when sailing is released

Personally SOTE was pretty easy. The puzzle segment was a bit tedious though. The hardest quest currently imo has to either be DT2 or SotF.

Obligatory nostalgia comment. But damn do the memories flood back seeing classic RuneScape. I started playing this back in 2001. I remember running to the library during lunch to get on one of only the 4 worlds available(accounts on the same network couldn’t be on the same world) a top 2000 leaderboard, which was super easy to get on, had all of the party hats at one time, one of which I sold for a rune medium… Man those were such good times. I use to sit on a computer all day playing RuneScape, now I sit on a computer all day playing work. 😞

The amount of research that must've gone into this video must've been insane. Great video, and I love the impartiality towards rs3 or osrs, a lot of videos about the history tend to focus on one or the other.

The statue and grave apparently aren't a tribute to The Old Nite, but i'm sure there is a tavern somewhere in the game with the same name, so there's that I guess.

@eztremegaming26 Legacy Mode was a bandaid fix. You do significantly less DPS and some fights are not even doable with it.

Run Escape is what I i called it when I first found it in 05 because I i only knew about it from my cousin who wrote the website on a piece of paper for me. I didnt get to try it out for another 8 months, so i was looking forward to playing Rune Escape for almsot a whole year 😅 I had my official start not long before the 06 Halloween event, and ill never forgot how awesome it was. The Mr Pugger music choice while talking sbout bots sent me flying 😂 I remember loving the run energy restoration and the tool bag, but left after eoc, of course. I was there to vote for the wildy back, but left shortly after EOC. I forgot how soon after they polled us for OSRS. It felt like FOREVER to me. Didnt start playing osrs till the mobile launch and i love what it grew into. Wish i got to start earlier both times. I didnt realize how new certain things were when i joined up. Thanks for the video!

9:05, Horizon starts to play. A tear comes to my face. It's incredible how that song is so nostalgic and powerful to many players. Probably because it could be unlocked 2 tiles away from the gates to Taverley and that would often be where free-to-play players would find their first limit.

After watching this I am absolutely certain that 2024 will be the most year of runescape.

Little disappointed the RS3 side of things went a bit neglected in the vid! What about arraxor, gwd2, the end of the storyline while guthix sleeps started with sliskes endgame, the release of anachronia. All eventful updates are they not?

Just one small adjustment to this video! When void armor first came out, there was no set bonus, it was just cosmetic!

My first ever runescape friend was itelefast, back in 2009. We met at this Runescape Private Server called Battlescape. I don't know what happened but we haven't talk since then. I miss you itelefast and i hope some day we'll meet again and lure people on varrock multi wild like Jojo3000 with Green Partyhats on. We dupped and shit. Love u bro.

My world changed when I logged into runescape in 2002 for the first time...I was only 11, used all my saved birthday money over the years to buy my first pc and persuade mom to get dial up internet...she never received a phonecall again

just retuirned to osrs for my month off work pure nostalgia

Played rs heavily from first months of release till late 2018.. basically seen everything rs has thrown at us

I have many memories, but the sleeping bag, for some reason.. that one was sent to the pits of hell. until now. damn.
