I love soie malaquais! It smells unlike any other perfume yet is somehow familiar. The whole range seems to avoid the alcohol scent that I can detect in virtually every commercial perfume. The bottle is beautiful and came in a yellow silk drawstring bag. I feel like it came from a spice market in Samarkand rather than an industrial production. It’s horribly expensive, at least for me but is worth it.

Nice overview Ashley. I also live near some osmanthus shrubs and adore their scent. I always wondered why I noticed them in the fall when everything else seems to be dying. But that makes sense now!

i bought the discovery set as well. my top faves are raving rose, voodoo chile, and soie malaquais. cannabis patuchouli is also good. Santal Greenery is great at first but it dries down very powdery on me.

Ashley, you did a detailed review of 10 fragrances in less than 10 minutes. I am impressed. I am interested in trying Voodoo Chile, Rock the Myrrh, Cannabis Patchouli & Neon Garden the next time I go to NYC. It looks like Dries Van Noten chose some fragrances from newer perfumers ( Nicolas Bonneville, Amelie Jacquin, Nisrine Bouazzaoui Grillie & Nicolas Beaulieu ) which I like. There is a lot of great young talent in the fragrance industry and it is great to see them getting opportunities to showcase their talents.
