Scotty, I have a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country, just passed 200,000. Original engine, original transmission. Recently replaced the O2 sensors and the power steering return hose. Other than normal maintenance that's about it (new EGR valve when it had like 45k miles) I change the oil religiously and I service the transmission every 60k miles. Last time I had the mechanic service the transmission he said, "The fluid looks new, why are you having this serviced?" My reply, "have you ever seen a Chrysler product with this many miles on the original transmission?" He said "good point." It goes to show, if you maintain even a poorly made vehicle, you can get a lot of miles.

I'm on my fifth set of tires and my original clutch has been replaced at 224,600 miles. I still get over 36 miles to the gallon traveling at speeds over 70mph. Me too!! I have an 06 Honda accord euro which is the same as the tsx. Although mine comes with a k20 (and not k24) i prefer the better fuel consumption and the reduce of weight. It runs so smoothly and the design aged really well, for a sedan from that range its not expected to be a luxury car but also maintain a sporty feel. The 06-08 Accord euro/tsx is probably the best honda ever built. Love it

I have a tsx like this with just under 200k great car I love it. to his observation of it riding rough that has always been a complaint from people even when it came out being the more sport oriented model Honda gave it harder struts. For a more luxurious ride the big brother tl or rl would be the smoother quieter ride as the tsx is a rebadged accord from Europe and Asia but for the tsx it got the harder sport suspension making it excellent at swinging through corners which is a trait I like. its handling around corners at high speeds is insane for a car like this. Straight line speed is lacking with the 2.4 but around corners it can easily stand up to modern sports cars with no issues my only complaint is the original wheel and tire set up for the base model are tiny 17x7 wheels but the v6 3.5 had an 18x9 and doing that upgrade and some good quality tires helps the 2.4 feel stronger around corners. Some also can equipped with back up camera and parking sensors but they're hard to come by it was also available with a 6 speed manual and in Europe an AWD version under the accord nameplate was available. These cars are slept on one day I think tuner people will hunt them down and drive the price up but for now theyre pretty inexpensive and the majority of them are well maintained and not super clapped out but every once in a while I see one in the junk yard or super best down on Facebook marketplace now unlike before

I personally am all about being on the highway so all of my driving time with it is being mostly on highways even took it on 3-4 road trips and did very well gets good gas mileage highway driving as well my Average Fuel A would just tell me I'd get around 32-35 mpg with a long range for gas too!

However.....at 62K miles the Half Shafts had to be replaced, the suspension rattles on bumps a little, the starter makes a grinding noise every once and a while when disengaging from the ring gear. It is a daily driver, I do drive it in Michigan. Michigan is BRUTAL on cars. Not just the salt, it's an unusually high accident rate and the roads are HORRIBLE and there are tons of dirt ones too. Recent study showed that the average Michigan driver spends about $800 PER YEAR more on their vehicles in: depreciation and repairs than the rest of the US average.

The unibodies are less safe than the ones with the real metal frames underneath like on my truck or Jeep for work. I have nothing bad to think about Romania or it's people. Some extremely serious Olympic athletes have been from Romania. Maybe if I am granted good health, run out of work, hopefully I can one day visit your country and people. 🙏👏🥇👋

@@lupulflamand5673 Wow. Thank you for answering me. This is interesting. Are these SUVs used for city driving mostly? Or are they used for long distances or both. Now I will have to look up your country to get a small idea of what the land & weather are like. My son worked for GM as a software engineer for a short time. He warned me to not get a unibody. He said they can be very dangerous in a wreck. He said get a Corvette instead of a Camaro because they still have a frame under them. That was 3-4 years ago. I have a right hand drive Jeep I used for work. It has a real frame. I've looked at older used Jeeps and they would be rusting underneath, driveshaft, frame, etc. What is put on your roads for ice and snow? Any salt used for melting frozen areas?

Manual Acura and Honda are great I wonder if the transmission had already been replaced. Unless it was babied the 4cyl motors are perfect fit on those automatic transmissions they can last but if it’s beat on then you’ll at least have to replace the transmission once before 200k miles. Especially the V6 engine Many go out around 100-150k in auto I loved my Acura integra coupe manual great on gas and quick even stock Granted TL is more luxury then integra even accords

Bought my 2012 wagon (K24 4 cyl) new. Service it by the book. 140k miles. Have replaced all four coils, alternator, battery three times, front and rear shocks all leaking for the last 40k miles, both drive axles replaced. Transmission (5 spd auto) replaced by Acura under warranty at 55k miles (excessive whining) - and based on smell it NEEDS a service every 30k miles. Interior: rear window switch failing, vanity light control module dead (read: no door lights and passenger map light is dead), rear hatch supports replaced 2x, perforated leather seats rip at the sewing joins under your butt (because it's 50% leather and 50% air, duh... Performance surprises: A/C robs the engine of 20% of it's power, paddle shifts are complete garbage: NOT rev-matched, making using the paddles a scarily-abrupt and rough gear change, and unlike every k24 on the planet, because this is Acura engine mapping (not Honda) you CANNOT find a chip or any other purchasable modification for this version of K24 motor for more power. Last: power delivery is abysmal: lots of noise and very little push. It's also very lumpy in delivery (bUt It'S gOt V-tEcH!). Feels super primitive compared to any turbo-4 or any 6 or 8 cyl. Stupid. Doesn't burn oil, but DOES require premium fuel. This is NOT anywhere near Toyota reliability. And it's no quieter or more-comfy than a Honda Accord. Won't be buying another Honda/Acura product - it's a badging exercise with zero aftermarket performance potential and no more reliable than an upscale American or Euro product. Waaaaaay too many negatives.

For hard-core Acura fans, this car first gen TSX is almost a must own as the 2nd gen TL Type S. 2014 marks the saddest year for Acura fans. They killed both TL and TSX.

I’ve had an’88 Integra, ‘94 or ‘95 Legend Coupe (awesome!), ‘99 TL, ‘07 (ish) RSX & now with a ‘12 TSX Sportwagen w/ 135k on it & no troubles. Our Acura dealership service tech whispered in our ear that changing the transmission fluid every year on the automatic would likely extend the life of the manumatic & so we do. Our ‘99 TL was given up on b/c the auto trans. failed. Aside from that, we have been big believers. Also have owned a number of X-Drive BMWs (in Vermont) and while their performance is awesome their reliability comes NOWHERE remotely close to the Acuras! If Acura offered SH-AWD on their smaller cars (& bring back the wagon!) we’d kiss BMW goodbye forever.

My 08 carried me for right at 10 years, as a second owner starting off about 150k and until I smacked a deer and totaled it (then fixed it myself!) I had very few issues. The deer incident gave way to transmission issues from replacing lost fluid from the condenser, but it made it to 373k (I was hoping to make it to 375, but no complaints!) Over all this was one of my favorite vehicles ever- very comfortable, looked really nice, sporty enough to have fun and I didn't baby it- lots of disabling the VSA and manual shifting on the dirt roads
