John L. Hennessy
is President Emeritus of Stanford, Shriram Family Director of Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program, and Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
In 2017, Professor Hennessy received the Turing Award “for pioneering a systematic, quantitative approach to the design and evaluation of computer architectures with enduring impact on the microprocessor industry.”
Also in 2017, he initiated the Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program. It is the world’s largest fully endowed graduate-level scholarship program.
Professor Hennessy's research spans new initiatives in multidisciplinary research and teaching.
