not becoming a hero yes, but not in the way Kotaro wanted. did he ever wanted his son to become a villain? did he ever wanted the world to die for wiping out heroes without any regret or remorse? If that was not what kotoro wanted then he failed miserably.

​@@andrewsung3965 Yes, but all of that could have been prevented if Kotaro wasn't an asshole who took his issues out on his family. Though Kotaro is sadly only partially responsible. The 'credit' also goes to a society that's become almost completely dependent on heroes to solve its problems. Think back to when Shigaraki was sitting alone in the streets, when an old lady passed him by and basically just went "cheer up kid, I'm sure a hero will come save you." No hero ever showed up. It's the bystander effect at work: no one bothered to help him because they figured there would be a hero that would. There are at LEAST two instances where Shigaraki's descent into evil could have been halted, with one being if someone had just lifted so much as a finger to help him. But now he's far beyond anything that could help him, and it's too late to go back.

The image of him reaching a hand out was used over and over again throughout but it was only when Deku tells the previous wielders that he still wants to help Shigaraki that everything clicked for me and I realized how everything has been foreshadowed.

I would honestly love if the "END" of MHA is going to be related to "Quirk singularity doomsday" Its such a fascinating concept, plus they haven't explained the mutation phenomenon either, Eri and Shigaraki had mutation quirks, and they are major plot drivers, but we don't know much about Mutation in general💀

Finally someone who actually pais attention to what deku said in the first episode that this is his STORY of becoming the greatest hero. It's his STORY STORY.

A lot of people say that Deku won't die in the story, because of his "And this is how I became the number 1 hero" in the very first episode. But what he does NOT say is that he currently IS the number 1 hero. He wouldn't be the first protagonist to narrate his own story from beyond the grave.

I often forget that the entire anime and the manga is just a flashback 😅

We literally know from the beginning that he was gonna succeed in accomplishing his goal because it's literally one of the very first things stated, it was something like "this is the story of how i became the greatest hero of all time" or smth among those lines.

legend says: At season 1 do you remember their first activity with sir Aizawa? the ball that Ochako threw is still flying until now because it's INFINITE

Not to mention the beginning of the anime says “This is how I became the number 1 hero” so you can assume its telling a story that has happened. Edit: Apparently its the greatest hero mb

Yeah season 5 is kinda meh but the last couple of seasons been good tbf

Like in the second episode he just says “Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, this is the story of how I became the greatest hero.” But he doesn’t say anything about who he loses, and how much of a fight he may have put up to do so.

And we can see in season 6 Intro, that deku wants to save shigaraki when he needed it the most

Still think shigaraki is going to die but he’s finally going to get a hero moment. He wanted to be a hero but due to abuse abandonment fear and manipulation that didn’t happen and his anger is rooted in hurt and bitterness that nobody came to save him but when deku achieves that shigaraki is going to turn the blame onto AFO and have a final moment to help the heroes defeat AFO before he dies

This. Shigaraki is too bound up with AFO to detach now, and since quirks exist on a cellular level, I think Shigaraki will need to die to eliminate AFO completely from the world, making Shigaraki die as a reformed villain.

So I can't remember what the subbed says, but in the dub, Midoriya says "This is how I became the WORLDS greatest hero" not just the #1. #1 is just a title based on good deeds and also popularity, pretty much. The world's greatest hero means he should become the most powerful as well

Wow that's really good foreshadowing 😮 MHA and you did a good job 😊

(but of a stretch on my part but) Really interesting is the process deku challenged the slime villain, he used the chaos for cover, focused to avoid an attack, used his bag to bind (like Kamui Woods), and charged in to dig bakugo out. He has float to move, smoke screen for cover, the danger sense ability to dodge decay, and black whip to make contact and restrain, all this supported by fajin and the gear shifts.

yeah, aot is soooo good. all of the little hints and stuff make it so cool. So that every time you watch it, you realize something new or see something different. Super great piece of work.

Unrelated question for the fans: Considering AllMight's body change and Deku's OFA, is it safe to consider that Midoriya can mimic Kirishima's hardening by flexing his muscles with OFA to become bulletproof?

I think it changes between holders like how Deku was the one who got all seven quirks or how he broke his bones we never hear about All might breaking his bones or getting severely injured before the fight that destroyed half of his body or how there all focused on the same goal but each holder went about it differently

I literally called it from the first season that it wasn't the story of how he saved the world by himself but how he united the world to fight against evil. It's an awesome show. But if you couldn't tell that from the beginning idk what to tell you

If anytime deku was talking from the future to reference a scene we were watching in the present, and referred to bakugo in the past tense, I think that would have been such an additional bombshell.

Man I wish they would've done something to that mutant type giant character development wise.

At that point the word “friend” is a strong word

To be honest, I despise that they gave that away right away. It not only sounded extremely arrogant for Deku to say “Greatest Hero” rather than “Number One Hero”, but it also took away all anticipation that any other character might be able to beat him there. I mean, I know that Horikoshi doesn’t care at all about his side characters (Class 1-A and to an even greater extent Class 1-B) aside from Bakugo, to the point that he’s given literally none of them any big moments or impactful character development arcs, but c’mon.

I might be overthinking this but im pretty sure that Uraraka got some development: Her reason to pursue being a hero. If you look at where Uraraka's orginal reason it was for money so her family could rest to to be a hero that protects other heros/ their smiles
