It does that too lol it’s just a clip at the top. It’s the same thing as when you would ask a question and the algo would pull the answer from a relevant article.

As a person who wants to know for sure about facts before I spout information, or make sure facts are correct, or who needs to check facts at the data source for any reason, this is disastrous.

As if google wasn't messed up enough the way it already is.

time to bring back lycos and altavista.

Agreed..as someone with transplanted fingers and severe RA. Speech to text was a blessing. Years of use. Always worked. But the past 2 years. The changes forced me away from it. The final straw..sending a text to fam about christmas dinner and staying the night. Just before I hit send..it changed to something very perverse..stopped using it. And last year google home/nest would not stop screaming full volume " with Google Facial Recognition AI,, blagh blagh..had to remove the system to stop it. Waste of funds on the security system.

This is catastrophic 😢😢😢😢😢

DuckDuckGo. It's a great search engine, plus it doesn't track you. Once you use it for a search and then compare the results with what you'd get in Google, it'll blow your mind how much Google is trying to steer your eyeballs towards the sponsored results. It's insane.

I use duck duck go now because the ai search results are just vacuuming up random things and popping it at the top. I saw someone who looked up how to pass a kidney stone and google ai search told them to drink piss??? Wtf

Why would you use a LLM to ask the time in London? LLM prompts are significantly more computationally intensive than Google searches. Google searches primarily rely on indexing and retrieving existing information, while LLM prompts generate new text based on complex patterns learned from massive datasets.

How is this different from being told what to think?

I think google would di better if the stay natural as they always was because people might try AI but they will want to leave it pretty fast and would stay with google the most accurate information they always were , if google changes the search engine there gonna cut there own throat!!!
