Online or some places on Barnes and nobles

Almost every weekend I go to the stores to browse movies. I've done this for decades. It really breaks my heart seeing the selections dwindle. Looks like you have much more than my Best Buy. Went to Target this weekend and they had maybe 25-30 movies. It was depressing. Walmart's already small selection got cut in half at the start of the new year.

Movies are the last reason I even stop in that store. I used to mainly buy cds

@roadrash2005 Same! Once they're gone, I'll rarely go into Best Buy.

I was at my local Best Buy, yesterday and yes, they are definitely get rid of their physical media... Alot more movies are gone from racks/shelves. They even had two carts full of movies, for weeks, and now those are half gone, so the physical media sections are bare. Its sad, but at the same time, the high prices for this stuff is what confuses me. Why should anyone pay $25 or more for just a blu ray? Ridiculous!

@@GOMoviesGeek I went to another Best Buy, today and their physical media section was even more bare than the one closest to me. Pretty crazy to see those 360 movie racks practically, all empty. Anyway, I asked a couple of Best Buy employees what happens to the movies that are gone and they told me the movies go back to corporate and are...destroyed. That's what I was told.

I'm gonna miss their return policy, I got a TV series that had a damaged disc, took it back to the store and exchanged it with no hassle

I would only buy optical disks of movies that you really want to own over the long term. Classic films or films that might one day become classic. Most contemporary dreck is better left to streaming. Amazon sells disks and no doubt specialty online retailers probably have a good selection of both new and used movies. Have not been into a Best Buy in over a decade. They don't really sell the type of audio hardware that I typically buy.

Yup great points and agreed on buying titles that you really want to own and others are good for streaming. And online is definitely best for selection and pricing 💯

Best Buy is low on everything. I try to support the store in my area, but they never have what I want.

Yeah same here. I've only picked up a few titles on sale but other than that, it's online 😞

yeah, at least at my local store, there are several sections (not just movies) that look pretty sparse....giving late stage Fry's vibes

Yup for sure I get Blu rays from Barnes and Noble as well.

I don't know where you're located, but your BB has far more movies on the shelves than the one by my place.

Yup although their selection is even more limited but at least they still have them plus their online selection is much better 😁
