I worked with Jamal at UPS during the mid-late 2000’s in Alpharetta, GA. and was always struck by his kindness, sense of humor and work ethic. I just happened to come across his excellent content by chance last year after something like 16 years after last seeing him prior to moving to New Jersey. He is genuinely the same positive person you see on camera. Jamal if you happen to come across this post I just want you to know I’m very proud of you and wish you continued success on this new endeavor and chapter of your life.

@@Jamalthecreative Hey Jamal. It’s been a while but yes, this is Matt but you may remember me as “Mike”. For some reason, possibly due to my last name Van Eyk (pronounced Van Ike) rhyming with Mike people would often make that mistake and I just gave up on constantly correcting them so in the very narrow context of UPS Monday-Friday from 6-10 pm I became “Mike”. I’m a stutterer so maybe that will jog your memory since it’s been almost 16 years. I left in August 2008. I believe you may’ve been the very last person I said goodbye to right before clocking out for the last time. You had become a supervisor and were doing something in one of the back offices, possibly something with the scanners but anyway I came across one of your videos by sheer chance and found and continue to find your content hilarious. It actually took me watching a few of your videos to make the connection of “Wait… I know that guy!” 😃. Like I said in the previous post I’m very proud of what you’ve been able to accomplish and all the hard work and dedication put into making your dream become a reality and I know you will continue to thrive and grow your sphere of influence despite this setback with KZread. @@Jamalthecreative The only person that I’m aware who used to call me big Mike was Malcolm and that was in reference to my weight and not my stature haha. I’d fluctuate in weight a lot while working there but I’ve been consistently able to keep the excess pounds off since then but there was another Mike, a supervisor around the same time who was a taller guy so that’s who you may be thinking of. We used to work together on PD-1 when you were first hired. I was the top splitter/sorter. I’d come in a little earlier to set up the trailers as well. The only real distinguishing characteristic I can give you is that I’m a pretty severe stutterer if that’s any clue if you’re still having trouble figuring out who I am. If not that’s ok too it was a long time ago 😃

The problem for me is that KZread doesn't really push channels likes yours or Funarios. I remember pulling the app up and see new content for both your channels. Now it's anything but what I follow especially if they're black content creators.

i dont know exactly when it happened but all of the skit creators on youtube i subbed to disappeared off my algorithm. then months later i would start getting a random thumbnail on my front page and i was like where tf they been. but when i clicked on the channel they were still releasing videos kinda regularly but i didnt get notifications. i dont know how youtube works exactly but its certain ppl i watch and are subbed to and they will never show up on my main page, i have to manually type the channel in the search box and check to see if they dropped anything 🤷🏿‍♂ this video came up though

Unless this is click bait... like all the big KZreadrs be doing every yeah (why I'm leaving KZread), If you're sincere, then fam, STOP making shorts and focus on your long format. The EXACT same thing I got one viral short and things have been shaky ever since. There are some ways to address it but we shouldn’t have to be crash dummies for the company with no way to reverse the adverse effects.

I've noticed alot of youtubers I follow started doing the same over the last few years... They've made second channel that didn't fit the mold for the usual videos they post. Thank you for the Transparency Mal. I plan on being a content creator in the near future so it's important to know all of the in's, out's and pitfalls of the game. My suggestion would be to create multiple channels, one for shorts and one for long videos. That's what I plan on doing. But you're an O.G. at this point. You win, you lose, you adapt. I recently discovered you on Facebook and looked you up on KZread great funny content good luck to you and your lady

Reminds me of what i went through in 2019 as a Content Creator when i was doing maybe 400k-2M views a month and then for whatever reason it dropped to 100k a month 70k the next, 40k the next and then no more than 5k and lucky if it manages 1k. It was a thing that it was enjoyable, making content and things was cool, but then YT switched it up and did some things, and then so many people dropped out and off, and viewership dropped. Its a weird thing being TikTok, Instagram and Twitch you don't have those issues to where the sites or upperheads be purposely dragging you down.
