@@pleb9243 Vengeful Spirit it is the 29th novel from the Horus Heresy its one of those that show a much more humane Emperor ... especially in the conversation with Malcador where this line comes from .... most conversations between the 2 are quite humanizing for the Emperor as opposed to the Master of Mankind ....

@Dominus Hydra the dark Angels are loyal, they just have a green card for breaking the rules, but i guess its true that while an Omega legión or Omega chapter would be nice, It would destroy the magic of not knowing for sure their loyalties, as alpharious what do you really think? Is It best to have a final revelation of loyaties or you like the muddy blurry loyalty they show? I mean neutral Is just taking care of oneself and there is no magick there

When that legionnaire from the dark angels woke up and got found by one of his brothers... And in on of those parts he ends up fighting side by side with his brother against heretic astartes from the alpha legion

@@PB-tr5ze thats actually because the Alpha legion had done operations before even the Ultra marines or any other chapters for that matter. The Emperor had Omegon but not Alpharius. So Omegon had done many missions before any of the other chapters even got their primarchs. So yeah, they were "first" but more of a secret first

@@dandyd1877 We know now it's the other ways round. Alpharius was the first found and Omega the last and then they switched places. Which means dorn killed Alpharius (Omegon) and Omegon (Alpharius) is still out there being Loyal it seems but only to the emperor

So we have an Astartes war band notorious for their knack in all kinds of deception aided by an Emperor notorious for not explaining things... Yeah, good luck figuring this out.

Gulliman already knows Omegan is alive. Dorn took out Alpharius before the siege began. Yet there's also lore that says Big G killed Alpharius in the scouring and burned his body to ash. No way. Omegan was pulling a Donnie Brasco throughout the heresy and when the scouring was nearing it's end Gulliman extracted him from the main Alpha legion traitor force made it look like he killed him (conveniently made sure there was no way for the Alpha's to recover and identify the body). Next thing an Ultramarine 'successor' chapter pops up called the 'Iron Snakes', non codex compliant, whose chapter master is always hooded and a full metre taller than regular marines. They even fight with spears! Conveniently enough throughout the last 10 millennia when a new Iron Snakes chapter master is 'chosen' they automatically take the same name, face hiding tendencies and massive height. Almost like it's the same person making sure the inquisition doesn't take too close a look. Hydra Dominatus.

The Primarchs knew about the twins and were able to recognise them. Dorn knew he killed Alpharius and Roboute knew he was fighting Omegon's forces and that it wasn't him he killed but an impersonator

It would be great if it was, but every bit of lore I've found on it is from an events based perspective, simply stating big G killed Alpharius. Not a story based narrative from Roboute's own perspective of 'hang on this gits not my brother'. Along with the 'Iron Cage' this part of the 'Scouring' series is what I'm most looking forward to seeing fleshed out.

@@davidgreenhalgh3736 not confirmed confirmed, but they said he doubted he was dead because even after his death the alpha legion were fighting as hard as they were before and no damage to the leadership was shown

The alpha legion is the emperors hidden hand in the traitor legions, a last gambit, an ace in the hole. Omegon should by all means be the new loyalist primarch. But still with the alpha legion unsure and spread out amongst the traitor legions, never knowing who is for or against the imperium.

I’ve always liked the Idea of a Omega Legion. I think it’d be a great opportunity to. Maybe even bring the Lion back as well. Have Alpharius Return at the Head of the Alpha Legion for Chaos and Omegon as at the head of the New Omega Legion. They could come swooping in from one of the Galactic Corners away from the Eye in an effort to either save Guilman or breach the gap between the two halves of the Imperium.

Are Eia oh yeah, I can see those as a good mix. More so the khan, I feel that Corax is already the loyalist version of the Alpha legion. So Bringing the Khan back would be nice. It’d give the imperium 3 of the best tools for fighting chaos, and it’s numerous enemy’s. Guiliman for his organizational genius, Khan for his tenacity, and Omegon for subterfuge. The Imperium could definitely go on the offensive and undermine Abaddon and the Dark gods. They’d also stand a better chance against the Tyranids and necrons with 3 primarchs.

I’ve always believed that when the Primarchs were taken from the Emperor by the Forces of Chaos and spread throughout the galaxy, Omegon was the only Primarch left behind and thus spent the most time with the Emperor. Furthermore I also believe the Omegon started a black ops war against the forces of Chaos under the Emperor’s orders, unbeknownst to anyone but the Emperor himself. I really wish Black Library would follow up with this story!

i love the idea of a reverse Istvaan V during the current timeline.

There is a bit in one of the books (praetorian of dorn i think) where malcador and the emperor play a board game that resembles the horus heresy with the pieces represent the primarchs. the emperor give malcador the 2 pieces representing alpharius and omegon only later to take one of them back near the end....... foreshadowing ????

It's a really good short story by Gav Thope called The Board Is Set, where Emps and Malc play out the HH events as an allegorical strategy board game. Emps wastes a turn to bring the Unbreakable Bastion (Dorn) out of 'reserve' (like castleing in chess). It's an unsound move but it leads Malc to draw the Hydra card. As he does, both Twin pieces change allegiance to join him (playing as the Warmaster). Malc realises that he can move one of those new pieces into the space left open by Unbreakable Bastion. Malc protests, so EMP asks him to turn over the next four cards ...all Hydras. Alpha Legion fans should be getting severe déjà vu.

I think you're onto an amazing story arc here mate. Surely the Alpha Legion with twin Primarchs were ALWAYS going to be split between Traitor and Loyalist it is the ultimate expression of the Horus Heresy which is based on fraternal conflict! It's a microcosm of the Heresy in a single Chapter!

One part of the Legion enacting code word Xenophon and the other Orpheus. Of course the whole Legion was suppose to be Xenophon. Totally sets the stage for how unknown chapters could have been founded by by xenophon Alpha Legionnaires

I still believe that some of the Alpha Legion are still loyal to the Emperor, just not the Imperium. I somewhat believe that some of the Alpha Legion are still 100% loyal just working undercover. (So to speak) Hence, why they were my favorite Legion in the Great Crusade and the Heresy.

Choas' greatest weapon against humanity is that it destroys from within as effectively as it destroys from external forces. Also choas is not public knowledge and the alpha legion keeps those that actually know about choas on their feet and alert.

The Primarch knew about the twins and were able to discern them btw people tend to forget that.

The Alpha Legion was always about the "Long Game", playing chess while others play checkers. It would be interesting to slowly unveil an alterior motive for the actions of the Big E. Using the Alphas for their created purpose. Im game for any well thought out and developed intrigue. Especially if it means listening to Wolf Lord Rho discussing and dissecting the true hidden meanings of any such future lore.👍😃

Omegon is the way for them to redeem a traitor legion without really redeeming a traitor primarch. Because Alpharius wont be getting redeemed, and Omegon never needed redemption. I could see members of the Alpha legion getting a signal one day all in unison and performing some Order 66 level shit on their own chapter, purging all the heretics and chaos mutated elements, leaving only the secret core of loyalists left, they then rebrand themselves as the OMEGA Chapter (Chapter because now after the purges they are way under strength for a legion anymore) and then pulling some serious sabotage at the final hour of some apocalyptic battle for the fate of the galaxy type shit. The ultimate plot twist. A twist running for decades in the lore.

Considering the likely very very large size of the Alpha Legion? Could be a new Legion, which would explain why the Alpha Legion could replace losses like nothing during the Heresy if they were litteraly 2 legions and 2 primarchs fused into a single Alpha Legion, the 1st of the 2, while what wouldve been the last of the 2 the youngest of the youngest, would be the Omega Legion, much smaller at first since the remnant of Alpharius Omegon geneseed wouldnt allow great stzrting numbers but with Omegon being there from the start end up being about half the Alpha Legion or smt... Or even a mere rebranding of the Legion, if the end times are coming with an attempt to end it all with the Eldars attempting to wake another god, supported by Big G and the imperium, Omegon would likely raise an Omega Legion against em, seeing as they would go against the Emperor the same way his twin Alpharius did by essentially starving chaos in the end. Many many ways for the Last legion to shine its frightening

While I'd love to see an Alpha Legion redemption arc, I believe this specific case would rather be about the emperor wanting to deliver this "beacon" straight into the enemy lair. Either as a means of spying, influencing, or simply nuking the hell out of said lair.

I would love a Omegon loyalist return in the story.

Imo there are three Factions inside the Alpha Legion: first is the one which follows Alphariuses dream of ridding Chaos and killing humanity. Second is the faction led by Omegon who are trying to stop the first and third faction while saving the Imperium (or atleast humanity). The third one is the Alphas who have fallen to Chaos.

I also think all 3 factions know about each other and intentionally don't try to figure out who's on which side. So long as the Alpha Legion is loyal, traitor and Chaos at the same time, it makes it easier for them to infiltrate all 3 sides. If the loyalists, for instance, try to distance themselves from the traitors and Chaos Alpha Legion, they'll give up the ambiguity that helps them work in the shadows and surprise their allies and enemies.

Well this has changed due to the new reveals in the Alpharius book and we know the roles of Alpharius and Omegon are actually reversed

Honestly, the Alpha Legion reminds me of Venom Snake and the Diamond Dogs. They are pretty much a smokescreen. Deceiving both their enemies and allies into thinking they are one thing when they are entirely something else, making them focus on the Alpha Legion all while a greater power (the Emperor) accomplishes something from behind the scenes with none being the wiser. So when the time comes that Abaddon manages to attack Terra, aided by unending hordes of daemons and Traitor Marines, I can see the Alpha Legion pulling the greatest backstab and firing upon Abaddon and his forces.

Would be nice for the Alpha Legion to turn back in to the light via the Beacon, with or without Omegon. It would open so many narrative possibilities since it would confuse the heck out of both the loyalists and the traitors (especially after knowing Big E set it in motion and you can't exactly shout "traitor" to the man in the golden chair, assuming the Companions even allow you to enter the Throne)

I think it would be epic if they came back as loyalists.

I fell into the Alpha Legion back in 2005 or so when I started with the lore and mini's. There has to be a weird setup with the twins. Alpharius only acted as he did for a reason. Which I think was to give his brother (his legion) a great fundamental change. They never fled to the warp. They always stayed in real space. They are mostly untainted and they control the tainted (not by purge) but by openness and discussion.

Ever been so excited for a wolf lord rho vid that you started it. Then paused it immediately to get your real life affairs in order. Then came back and played it with relief knowing you wouldn’t be interrupted. Or...I mean that could just be me. Good stuff rho

I would love to see an Omegon redemption story. It does make me worry about my tabletop miniatures. Not sure Obliterators will work with loyalist Alpha Legion.

Wolf Lord Rho! You have a great story telling voice! As others have said, I think the best story line is the beacon healing the traitor marines, Alpha Legion becomes the Omega Legion and turns back to loyalist when the Imperium need them most. They are utterly destroyed but that a couple traitor primarchs with them for good!

Hmmm The beacon is a man.... Alpha legion takes the beacon to Omegon. Something big happens that once again threatens earth and the Emperor, Omegon and his loyal follows Have to infiltrate the Palace during the all-out war on Earth so that "the beacon" Can be used to become the Reborn Emperor who once again walks among men. GW release Emperor Model.

Now that would be a very interesting story

If they do start a loyal Omegon story line, it need to be done in a way where most of the time, no know, not the loyalist or the reader knows if Omegon is loyal. Every action of his( if the reader even believes it is him) should somewhat be able to be seen as both helping or hindering chaos. Even the final reveal should leave a lot of question. Was he helping the emperor, or was he helping himself, or is it all just another trick. I think it would be cool, but really hard to do. I also always like the idea that the two primarch actually disagree with each other, one was loyal and one was evil and the two were fighting a secret war against each other. But that fan theory doesnt work anymore

I have always been a firm believer in one thing after reading Legion, that is that the Alpha legion and their Primarchs will have a key role in the war between the loyalist and the traitors and it's outcome. Alpharius death didn't sit well with me because in that that book they where to direct when the Alpha Legion is all about misdirection an unconventional warfare among the legions.. I just hope that we will finally see the master plan of The Alpha Legion their 10k years of work coming in fruition. My biggest fear is that they will just have Omegon show up without pulling of any scheme or trickery that their Legion have been built up for. I hope it won't be a letdown but Epic!

Im relatively new to 40k , and i absolutely love it. I wanted to buy my first 40k minis but i wasn't sure what should i choose . After reading and watching lore videos i got to say Alpha Legion is my favorite . Plus the Alpha Legion Lernaean Terminators looks amazing .

Is it just me or were the seeds for this sown in the Ravenor series of books? Where Lady Bequin was put into the care of "Alpharius" I'm excited at the potential, as having a renegade but loyal faction could be very interesting :) Possibly like the split between The Fallen who have fell, and those working with Cypher.

At some point you've gotta cover all the info dumps from the Alpharius book. I've only seen MajorKill hit a few bullets from it so far

I honestly love the insane confusion of the Alpha Legion. I could also believe that Omegon wasn't quite working in secret from his brother, but rather they knew what each had to do, Alpharius must become the traitor, while Omegon must wear both the guise of Alpharius and traitorous intent....but like I said merely wear that cloak.

That would really be one of my favorite 40k moment honestly

I would LOVE to have *both* Loyalist and Traitor Alpha Legion in the tabletop.

You might be suprised. Since they don't follow chaos, and are more renegade than anything, some of them might actually be redeemable.

If you think about it, the entire fate of the galaxy rests with Omegon. If he sides with the Traitor Legions then the Imperium is doomed. If he sides with the Imperium he can save mankind. Honestly I can just imagine Omegon helps Abaddon get into the Imperial Throneroom itself then turns on him and shoots him in the face then taking his blade, Drach'nyen and stabbing him through the heart to truly finish him off then kneeling before the Emperor and saying like "my duty is done, my lord." or something really cool like that, like imagine what a moment that would be

Well, Alpharius did say "What I do now, I do for the emperor." I believe the Alpha legion, at it's core is still loyal to the Emperor and his ideals. They where/are the only legion that would go to absolutely any and every length to enact his will in all things. And at all costs. So it makes sense.

I like the idea that Alpharius was eventually corrupted but Omegon stayed loyal. It would an amazing dichotomy between brothers that are otherwise identical. The redemption arc would be awe inspiring!

Omegon doesn't need a redemption arc, he already is the Primarch The Imperium needs, they just don't know it yet. He can do something like Occam and the Redacted AL Warband have been doing. Omegon would purge the corruption from the institutions of the IoM in a way Guilliman could only ever dream of doing. He might even help the most worthy factions in the Segmentum Obscurus.

Even before this Video,.I had a pretty good feeling that Omegon secretly remained loyal to the Emperor. That is why after Alpharius was killed by Rogul Dorn, Omegon basically does basically almost nothing to help the traitors, even during the Scouring he just gives orders for the Alpha Legion to go a different path, and not with the traitors to the eye of terroror. He basically abandoned the Traitors, but still made it look like he was with them.

Oh man to see a traitor legion return to the SM loyalist, that would be really cool! I know Mortarian will never go back so my Deathguard will always be traitors, but the idea that a faction could swap sides again in this age is really cool!

Can only imagine a conversation between Omegon-Alpharius and Robute Gulliman in 41k ... How Omegon-Alpharius had hidden himself and his Legion in the great enemies camp to serve the Emperor in the bigger picture. Bring down Chaos from within

As they say the most needed option isn't always the most wanted I feel alpha going loyalist could be just what is needed as well as create so many unique interactions especially between omegon/alpharius and guillaman

I've always liked the idea that the Alpha Legion maybe a force of "double agents" in the setting. As stuff like this gives us possibility that it might be the case. Appearing to serve chaos, but in actuality (probably unknown to the majority of them themselves) still loyal to the Emperor by acting as traitors in order to get within the inner workings of the traitor forces.

The beacon could recall the Alpha legion to Omegon so he can re-establish mission parameters. Since many of the legion still operate under the old orders from the Horus Heresy.

It would be a really awesome way to explain why the Emperor would require SUCH a secretive Legion with a talent on misinformation and double crossing. He foresaw the potential of the heresy and before its seeds were even sewn he created an antidote that will strike when the perfect time arises so far out that even the chaos gods would be surprised. Or he just REALLLY F'd up who knows that's the fun....🤘😈🤘

On top of a possible Omegon return, he has the only pure formula to the Raptor project. The ones he gave to the other traitors were intentionally flawed. Are Primaris really just Omegon and the Raptor project reborn? We he return with a massive Raptor/primaris legion?

Man i hope they are secret loyalist, man we need more lore on this maybe Omeg could be friends with his brother Corax i feel like they could travel together destroying evil
