Pragg comes from a family of modest means that now has two GMs among family members. It just goes to show how powerful the combination of native talent and the dedication and sacrifice of one’s parents can be. I am so thrilled to see how empowered the poorer sections of India are becoming. Pragg’s mother is the symbol of all Indian mothers (and of all mothers who care for their children), and I could almost hear her scolding her son for appearing late at the “examination hall”.

As an Asian child myself I know a lot of youngsters are embarrassed of their parents especially when they don't look like everyone else's parents. But later on in life we all realise what precious people they are. Don't wait till it's too late, it's not hard to make your parents happy.

I remember participating in a debate competition with two other friends from school. It was organised by the Rotary Club so everybody was well dressed except my dad. We still won 😊

Pragg is just different...He reflects the future era of chess and I believe he is there to rule it his humble background and sweet innocnce just makes him all the more amazing...Now there ve been many chess players but this young man his family and humility is something we're lucky to witness and I hope other players embibe it too. I mean when Magnus Carlsen himself waited for him to finish and greeted him after he had beaten Nakamura which I have never seen him do with other players hes not even playing against then it jst goes to show the calibre of this young guy. God bless him and his family 🙏❤
