1-17 and 18-30 don’t have an Internal Elevator

When I tried filming an elevator that was being processly modernized, I slightly got busted from the security members there. You filmed during a less busy day. When I filmed, it was busy so it was less convenient for me to film.

​​​@@JOOT49He is right. There's only 4 elevators on each bank and 3 on 42-47. It's not that necessary. It would be hard with the way this atrium is set up. They don't need destination dispatch

I remember watching the original videos of these by MusicFreakcc, ever since then I have wanted to go here. Connor will always be the original Atlanta filmer to me. I never been here when it was original but they are not much different with the mod.

They now have hard floor! They took out the carpet after the mod too. The hotel feels nicer with the mod but I still wish I could have seen them before they were modernized

What video editing software do you use? What is the name of the song you used at the beginning and end of the video? Also can you try to get back to this hotel in the next month or so?

It's a Series 7 mod, not too bad actually. But I really don't see why they need to mod these, they're ADA-Compliant and run just fine. And I noticed some of these have classic leveling, I hope that doesn't go away with the mod

Superduper Julien & technicalboy 3000 What makes this mod sad is these elevators' history. These elevators meant a lot to our community, they represented the beginning of elevator photography. To us, they're a real piece of our history, but to the hotel management, they were an eyesore. The hotel's management is the reason why these are getting ruined.

Last time I went there the top floor ones were really broken we had to ride the lower floor one to get into a high rise one :/

Next time check one floor 33 and 20 if the 18-30 and 1-17 elevator motor rooms are open!!! Also I live in Atlanta. (It’s a 30 minute drive.)

The new elevator probably thinks that the go down button up there is a “GO AWAY” button.

Sadly, the original elevators are gone. At least they still run well with the mod. That's the good part. It's still very unfortunate

I might get an elevonic 401 panel I ride one every Friday and I think they may mod the elevator

I think Otis Compass could have done a world difference here. Especially with the amount of banks of elevators here. At any bank, it can assign you to an elevator. Not to mention more modern despite the elevators were not that bad with wait time

It could have been happened.

It's definitely a little sad seeing classic elevators like this get modernized, especially those with impressive technology for the time such as the Elevonic 401 system. However, I am interested to see what the future holds for these elevators, even if the mod does look a little run-of-the mill for current OTIS products. I like the video monitor with the modernized product, though!

The Parking Elevators are still original. On floors 1-17 and 18-30, I wonder what the 3rd elevator car was like before the mod because I didn't see any videos of it on both sets

Although I will miss the old Series 1 fixtures, I am actually rather pleased that this mod is happening.

technicalboy 3000 It was Marriott's decision. I went there four years ago, and I must say that while it was a very nice place to go ride some awesome elevators, it was in dire need of renovation. I'm glad to see that this is happening. However, I still would've gone with the Compass system.

If the elevator is just completed after modernization , it may get a few problems which show that it would not accept the call mostly if the call fixture is still original.

​@@ericsturnioloThe speed on all of these are the same. I know the speed on all of these except 18-30. I think the 18-30 is 600 FPM. They are definitely not 700 FPM.

This place is in a dire need of a MAJOR renovation. Just look at the guest floors. Screams the 80s. I wish they put more effort in the modernization besides a slap on. They need destination dispatch but they aren't that busy. Overall they need to do what they did with the New York marquis

+Cherry City Elevators I think the architecture of the place is kind of cool! I makes me think of the future because of all the curves and lights and stuff. It all futuristic and makes me think of a spaceship. How come they don't even do that crap anymore. Instead the new building are all blocky and crap. I wish they still made buildings like this today. Matter of fact the stuff from 30 years ago is made to last unlike the crap today!

+Cherry City Elevators Destination dispatch would not be necessary here, as there are 4 banks of elevators serving 47 floors in total. witch means that alike calls, are already sorted down by banks of elevators the one they have in NY has two banks of elevators serving 49 floors, and had problems with elevator traffic prior to modernization

I realize what you mean by the architecture, but the outside is rather odd... It's often referred to as the pregnant building. And in Portland, they're constructing really cool buildings. I like them a lot. 70s and 80s was a sad time in architecture. Don't get me started lol.

People just don't want outdated stuff in their places, there will still be old elevators to enjoy, and recently installed ones that have that old touch. But I am still sad to see these go nonetheless

6 service elevators. 3 of them go to floors 1-25 and the other 3 go to floors 25-47. You can access all 6 elevators on floor 25.

I agree with you.

The cabs are original. They kept the old Series 1 lanterns and the Epco lantetns on 10. Unfortunately, new buttons. I feel like if these were still original in 2024. Most likely, the voice would have been dead on all of these. I for a fact. A lot of the voices did not work on this video. I do love the buttons though. The floor passing chime is nice. I would not have cared if that changed. Atlanta Marriott Marquis, Shame on you for modernizing these!!
