Glad I'm of an age where I'll be finished with motorcycle riding by the time these things take over, not convinced they will though, they leave me cold. No one able to hear you coming would be one of my concerns and living with range worries on a tour and having to wait to charge up would just ruin any enjoyment for me. On a positive note though I do enjoy your channel 👍

High Chris.. Glad you enjoy the channel.. Hot subject EV’s ..Got to give everything a go though I reckon..They’re not the answer for sure ..Lots of other ice tech out there at the moment synth fuels and stuff being developed.. Ill thought out knee jerk reaction by governments in committing to EV.. If you look at the bigger picture they’re not very environmentally friendly..As a road test on a motorcycle though, I quite liked it..Amazing instant torque..Take care bud 👍

I have ridden the Energica Esse Esse 9 and it is an amazing bike. Handling is very well balanced. Yes they take a while to charge but that is from 0% to 100% so charge before it’s empty and for a shorter period. In other words just keep it topped up. It is very seldom you would be needing the full range. If you need longer trips then perhaps a different bike more suitable for your needs is required. However see Marc Travels Chanel where he is riding the world on a Zero and you will realise that big miles are possible on an electric motorcycle. It’s just a different mindset.

Hi Ian.. As I said in the vid you need to know the bike ..Matt from the shop did mention about topping up which kind of makes sense I guess …The German guy on the Zero stayed at a hotel just up the road from me earlier in his travels..He bought that bike second hand I think.. Haven’t followed him to be honest as I’m not particularly really interested .. I’m old school with an open mind.. If it’s got two wheels I’ll give it a go.. A chap wrote in the comments that if he had to ride an EV he’d give up riding… Well there’s dedication for you 😆Hilarious.. I’d be quite happy to ride an EV motorcycle alongside my ICE bikes … Thanks for the tips and thanks for watching the vlog 👍ATB

Good review Dickie and very similar thoughts to me when I rode the same model last year. ( similar thoughts on out leaders too 😂) I was impressed by the performance and thought it was quite good fun to ride. However , as it is it’s a bit of a one trick pony, only really useable as a Sunday morning bike or a couple of hour buzz around the lanes. The problem is, for a lot less than 20k there’s many bikes that would do that and a lot more besides. As an aside, we have met, I was on the Himalayan odyssey weekend with you.

This is the second video I’ve watched of yours and I was wondering if there was such a thing as an electric motorbike, and here we are 🙂👍🏼 But I’d want it to carry camping gear and be able to take the battery out and charge it anywhere fairly quick. Ah, you just said a couple of hours to charge. How long to charge at home? Sorry, I probably need to do some research myself and not bother you with all these questions 🥴 OMG, £20,000? I might have to wait a bit for prices to drop… considerably. Maybe I should look at horse and cart instead 🤭 Thanks for taking us along with you for a look. Certainly options to consider for later perhaps anyway.

Hi... You can plug them into a domestic three pin house socket apparently... This will probably take 8 hours or so... Plug them in before you go to bed and they're be ready to go in the morning.. Fantastic for commuting to work etc.....They're not quite there yet regarding riding longer distances as far as I'm concerned, which is a shame..Horse and cart sounds great 😄....Battery range and price is the main issue with these bikes.. Your not bothering me asking questions ..I'm glad your finding some of my stuff interesting. Its always good to ask questions 😊👍

Well, as you were, I'm impressed too.. would I ever afford to buy one..! as likely as ever owning one. It's more than a small issue the distance and charge time.. if out with fellow E bike rides as an when whoever needed to charge or all needing to charge, if limited charge points , if 3 bikes to charge at 2 hours each.. If able to mention Adventure Bike TV.. (I have) that was their issue on a group test ride, timing went out the window, as to with the plans. Noticed was the charger point flap open, didn't look as if could be closed when charging and if out in the rain, unless there's drainage from the box it would fill with water..! think as an oversite.. as 'it never rain in California..' Like you've said it's alien no engine burble, lack of mechanical noise nor clutch/gears, I'd like a Neutral just in case carried away blipped the throttle standing in traffic, you did say opening and response was not immediate in eco mode. If anything the trade off is the torque and get up an go.. moves As.. Until the next, stay safe and take care. Dewi

As the Bike goes, it's a good un'.. realistically any vehicle has the Manufacture's claimed figures on consumption/range etc.. real world there's so many factors Speed, Loads, weather conditions list a few.. End is you'd find the capability of that vehicle KWPH/MPG/Range, I don't knew with the Himalaya, given the low fuel warning as too how much, how far nor how soon before the fuel runs out.. time would tell. Future we're sold is Electric.. Car's currently (no pun) are showing issues, maybe not all catch fire.. reports say sales are not what had been expected, if at all.. is it than Dog don't Hunt.. Environmentally electric has to be generated.. by what means, wind/solar alone..! Think we're hang out to dry.. rest of the World remains as normal. I'll close.. How's Mom. Y'all Stay safe. If there was an affordable electric bike with over 100 miles of range I'd have one too, but there isn't yet. As you identified the range is dictated by the battery size and weight, so until batteries with higher energy density become available electric bikes won't be practical for long rides or if you live in the countryside, we're still a few years away from that. The problem of charging past 80% can be overcome with LiFePO batteries but I think they're heavier. Electric bikes are also too quiet to be ridden in the countryside without having a system for generating sound that can be heard by cyclists (as you found out), walkers and wildlife, especially larger animals that could easily kill a bike rider. This is easily fixed and should be fitted as standard to all electric vehicles, I know they have a system that operates at slow speeds but that's only relevant in town. For the moment I have an e-bike that allows me to legally ride around the trails in Scotland, has a range of 50-60 miles and doesn't cost a fortune. Yes the country is run by half-wits, crooks and traitors. Yes I think there is a plan to restrict our freedom of movement, hence the increasing restrictions on personal transport along with the diminishing and increasingly expensive public transport system. Cheers, Mick

Development will come and hopefully people will only judge once they have ridden an electric bike. After nearly 60 years riding bikes, Guzzis, big Suzukis, Triumphs and the rest I bought a step through 350cc maxi scooter. Well!! soon changed my ideas about scooters..a lot of folk will probably be the same about electric bikes. 👍
