​@@shroomsy7512 Yeah, my hookclaws stunlock almost all enemy tarnished, unless they have heavy armor. It also seems having low poise is a common trend for both enemies and bosses in this DLC as well.

I don't understand how people don't realize that new game scales health and damage. Not only that but the DLC SCREAMS at you that "SCALING IS DIFFERENT IN THE DLC YOU NEED SKADOOSH FRAGMENTS"

@@owlflame I dunno, Greatshield build makes it pretty easy. Don't even have to worry about dodging, just tank it and counter. As long as you collect those powerup fragments you'll coast through even the final boss. Though I guess for him you at least do have to dodge the grab.

I think this is where a lot of the criticism came from, people thought they'd stomp the DLC with their endgame build but the game tried to essentially replicate what it feels like to start from scratch while still letting players use their items and build

I'm at bayle without it... He one shots me with some moves and leaves me in 10 HP with others but it's absolutely doable

About right. It's always nice to get humbled when you think you're too op

When they complained so hard about it being easy he actually made them use there skills and no lvl

My friend legit had this happened, where the rest were using relatively new characters, it's a trip going from a tough fight in your own world and then watch the universe snap under the numbers in his world

Watching my level 100 character get almost one shot by the basic enemies is a feeling

For example breath of the wild has similar collectibles to shadow of the eardtree and no one complained. There are also a lot of metroidvanias with those and no cares

Nintendo fan boys just utterly lost their sheit at them for even modest comments like calling it a 7/10. And so, much like the souls community, they basically just aggressed other opinions out of the picture because nobody liked getting dogpiled by angry nerds. However Elden Ring widened the FromSoft playerbase to more than just the cultists used to an abusive relationship, so there are actually enough people that complaints were heard clearly despite the attempted suppression. OFC over time From fans will continue to dogpile folks who disagree with them, while the more casual/normal people will just move on. So most conversations about the DLC will prolly get more positive over time simply because nobody has the patience and energy to argue with people who treat the franchise as their own little religion. I want to be clear this is not all souls/from fans. There are plenty of sane ones too. But its the zealot cult nutters that are the loudest and most visible at all times.

It's like how on Fallout 4, you can take on the Commonwealth. But then you reach Nuka World or Far Harbor and then find the monsters there incredibly harder to defeat. Yes, this did happen to me before on Fallout 4.

Youre basically starting over again in the dlc

I was once decidedly not gud, and decided to stick to learning The Nameless King until I got it right without taking a break. That taught me how to properly learn souls+ encounters and solve for almost never being hit first and do damage second. And nothing else has seemed as hard as he did that day since. Even harder bosses than him as the DS3 DLC, Melania anyway in ER, and now ER DLC, have introduced are simple enough with the right learned-to-learn them approach. Also, secudatree fragments are you friend. And the light armor moveset is your friend. The meta keeps preaching that medium armor moveset is enough and it just isn't as good though. All those famously dangerous naked red people? Light armor moveset maintainers while staying under a level cap in order to match invasion brackets with you. Be the dangerous naked fast moving red person to bosses. Just not red...and maybe not actually naked.

Basically Ng+9 me when dlc dropped the 1 shotting from every boss dancing lion is crazy

PSA: level your frickin scadutree blessings. It’s the new progression system, your levels don’t matter in the dlc. Fromsoftware wanted people to have get the feeling of progression no matter what point they enter the dlc so the created this system. Use it.

You shouldn't have gone into the over exaggerated hallway filled with shadow demons (they were looking for beans)

The only advantage to over-leveling in Shadow of the Erdtree is that your build will do the best that it can until you actually level it up the way that matters

NG+10 had every weapon. I thought I was ready, and I was. The dancing lion was really weak to fire, so I spammed takers' flames

If you got to the Dancing Lion without a single Scadutree buff, then idk man I feel like that’s on you

After leaving the light 9f marika we are basically lvl 1 again. Same difficulty but equivalent to lvl 1

The only boss i didnt struggle with was the lion, first tried it on a new save without a spirit ash or cooperator, was so confused by the difficulty, got absolutely crushed by rellana five minutes later

Honestly, that’s on him for trying to go onto the DLC on new game +7 like I went into it on new game +2 and that’s only cause it’s a lot easier to farm ruins on new game +1 plus the difficulty doesn’t dramatically change from new game plus from new game to new game +1
