After meeting as children over a series of summers in the Italian Alps, Pietro (Luca Marinelli) and Bruno (Alessandro Borghi) reunite as adults to build a mountainside cottage which becomes a site of both reflection and reconciliation. 🙌🙌🙌❤️❤️❤️Winning of Cannes Special Jury Prize (not given annually) speaks volume for the quality of this movie. For bringing absolute authenticity and truthfulness to this movie, the two co-directors had to learn a new language to have the movie made in the mountain and village in Italy where the author of the award winning book the movie is based on, actually lives there and they matched the movie and story with the perfect soundtrack by Daniel Norgren. There are so many layers of this movie that is so relevant to our lives today on every levels. Unfortunately, I am afraid this type of movies are not appreciated by the majority of the audience, thus not seem to get recognized by the members of the Academy anymore. Thanks to the entire crew for your love of the art to produce a movie like this one from your hearts.
So lovely to see more and more features (and TV!) going back to 35mm, all is not lost
