In this Red Exclusive encounter with Asabe Afrika TV team on Thursday 26th of May Year 2022 inside his Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Northern Nigeria home, retired Major General DAVID MEDAYESE JEMIBEWON (CFR, Mni) an elder statesman and former Governor of Old Western State of Nigeria under late General Murthala Mohammed’s regime between August 1975 and March 1976, and first Military Administrator of old Oyo State under General Olusegun Obasanjo (GCFR) from 1976 to 1979 spoke on some of the trending issues in the Nigerian Political space.
Jemibewon, a former Police Affairs Minister under President Olusegun Obasanjo’s civilian regime in 1999 opened up for the first time in history on how history placed the responsibility of creating Ogun State out of the old western states which he governed between 1975 and 1976.
He gave the detail-by-detail synopsis of the creation of OGUN STATE under his watch as Governor of the Old Western States of Ondo, Oyo and the mid-west.
The Iyah-Gbede, Kogi State born Army top brass and former Adjutant General of the Nigerian Army who is reputed to be the minister who revived and institutionalized the Police Service Commission (PSC) during his regime spoke on his constituency, the Army and how to run a great national Army devoid of political coloration.

Nice to see General's face again. Very kind man, and a man of his words. I can't forget how he assisted me in getting a clearer part 1999. May God continue to preserve him.
Gbenga l don't know your age now but your are very fortunate.The man man you are chatting with General David Medayese Jemibewon was rare to come by in those days.We used to struggle to catch his glimpse at the then Liberty Stadium in Ibadan in those days.Yes! Jemibewon The Emerald!.
General David Jemibewon was the last Military Gov of the Then Western State Of Nigeria and First Military Gov Of Oyo State created in 1976. He also was one the military officers who kept Nigeria One, through the Civil War.
