The EG Honda Civic is the peak Fast and Furious era tuner

It's the 92-95 Honda Civic EG today, hatches, coupes, whatever Facebook marketplace decides to give us. Trim doesn't matter because every single one of these is b or k swapped and non-op under a carport somewhere in southern California.
The EG is the first VTEC Civic in the US, but it's a dang D series, the B16A doesn't make an appearance until 1996. 125HP to the front but hey man that teal is sick

The EGs had covers under the rear bumper that you can find for like $50 so you don't need speed holes on them

When I was stationed at nellis I saw an eg hatch on the 215 entering going mach speed quite literally the fastest car I’ve ever seen move on the street. It was going so fast that the whole rear bumper ripped off and flew 50 feet in the air. I guess vtec was so loud he didn’t notice lol but I would assume thats what those holes in the bumper are for. I wonder if it would have stayed if he had them? Love the content guys stay based

I think the speed holes might be so the bumper doesn’t catch and fly off. Not that most of them are going fast enough for that anyway.

Right. People who consistently drag race their cars will sometimes remove the rear bumper bar for weight savings off the rear of the car, which leaves a big parachute of a bumper cover flopping around back there. I doubt that anyone trapping under 100 mph would need to do all this. LOL

At the track hatchbacks blow the bumpers off all the time with out speed holes. of course nobody on the street would experience that. But that has been a honda thing since F&F.

DC5 or an rsx are nice but the issues that many enthusiasts have is the suspension is difficult to tune perfectly for track use and obviously the older Hondas are much lighter. Coming from someone’s who’s own both.

Regarding the EG with Type R swap, the base RSX/Integra made about 160hp to the crank, like 150 to the wheels and the Type R K20 puts out about 205-215 to the wheels just with a header like the one installed, also revs faster and the Type R transmission has shorter gearing with LSD, its a night and day difference. 15k is too much for an EG imo, but its got the right parts tho, so cant blame the owner for asking that. Also, an EG with 215-220 whp Kswap and slicks is a high 12s car on the drag strip, its not slow by any means.

I don’t like drilling holes in bumper but for drag racing i’ll take the rear bumper off my eg, surprisingly makes alot of difference for mph and definitely shaves a bit of time off down the strip. I like the idea of a functional diffuser though.

I don't get why people who are supposed to know shit about cars dogs on a good job and innovation to make your car faster and more efficient.
