My fav is when BaT and CnB has a buyer that doesn’t pay or a seller that doesn’t sell, yet they log it as a transaction and it goes into their fancy market graphs. Doesn’t happen often, but it happens.

I might be the only one that doesn't see cars as an investment and it's primarily because I love to drive instead of look at them. By it's nature that devalues them. Setting aside the Gullwings of the world the Civic Type R should not be an ADM car. Both administrations dumped so much free money into the economy where else would prices go but up.

What a wonderful conversation! Roman and George are two of my favorite people to watch. There are some interesting things happening in the classic car market. Following Scottsdale you both Paris and Amelia/Miami. Some blue chips sold, others didn’t, and other lots were complete bargains. The Mullin Collection sale will be quite enlightening. From what I’ve seen, every lot will be no reserve. Let’s see what happens next month.

After Covid the car market has really entered a bubble that is unsustainable. I see the market of all, used and new cars coming crashing down to reality. I just don't see anything that will feed this bubble long term as unlike the housing market, you don't nesseserily need an a new or expensive car for it to work as transportation.

Completely at a loss as to the utter meltdown United is going through right now . . . and this is beyond the headlines you see over the past week. I am now up to FIVE mechanical problems in a row and stranded twice. Yes, as a VERY frequent flyer (instagram.com/p/CqRggTMMcs0/) well aware things go wrong but it is all in how you deal with setbacks. I don't recognize the airline I have been flying with for more years than I care to admit. In two of those cases, treated terribly on top of total unreliability!

I blame lazy passengers. I take my torque wrench, socket set and some spare bolts when I fly. If I see some missing bolts on a door plug, I fix it myself. This generation of lazy people expect everything to be done for them!😉

A well used 300SL gullwing could be had for two to three thousand dollars at the time I bought a worn but complete and running convertible/hardtop 190SL from a neighbor for $600 in the late 1960's. Of course that amount of money would have bought a new well optioned full size car back then. My memory is crystal clear about the flawless, low mileage white 1963 300SL roadster that was offered on consignment for $7,500 at Aristocrat Motors on Baltimore Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri in the late 1960's. It even had a Behr air conditioner unit. The former parts department manager of Aristocrat and I reminisced about that car numerous times over the following decades.

George is relentless in the teasing of Roman’s age. More of this and Roman may start believing it. This was lots of fun. Always enjoyable seeing the two of you read the tea leaves. What do you two believe will be the result of these forces affecting the auto industry on car fans like myself? I’m a lifelong car fan. Reportedly able to distinguish car makes since the age of 2. Despite that, my interest has eroded over the years. I could not care less for most exotic cars and regular cars are now standing on their tippy toes trying to break the 100k barrier like is nothing. I think this is all coming at a bad time as car enthusiasts are trying to keep EVs and automation at bay.

My understanding is that bring a trailer and cars and bids once the auction is over there is a hammer price and the buyer and seller are left to figure out how to finalize the rest of the transaction often quite poorly. Any thoughts?

Good point about the custom cars. I've seen custom shops absolutely ruin a classic car because they think they can improve on what the original designers did. You have to find a buyer who shares that same vision and is willing to pay for it. The same applies to a car customized to order. Certain cars have an iconic history that people are familiar with and changing it is not going to appeal to them. Good content. The beauty of cars like 'Cudas is that they represent true capitalism where competition among auto makers produced performance vehicles that were affordable. Jay Leno has driven a lot of cars and says Americans are better than European stuff. It's easy to make cars for rich people. I don't understand the attraction to most European auto design. I am left with the impression that they are trying to see how ugly they can make a car and still get $$$$$$ for the car. Does the high cost of these cars make them beautiful because the buyer can't admit they spent all kinds of money on an ugly car? I can go to any cars and coffee in my American muscle car and suck the life out of all the European stuff old and new.

The issue is that the type of people who buy GM, Ford and Rams/Jeeps. People expect a deal. Why shouldn’t they? The value is horrible with these brands, including Kia and Hyundai. People know that when they buy their Toyota and Honda, they know because the reliability is great, it’ll keep its value. No one wants an old GMC Acadia, Ford Explorer or Jeep Cherokee.

To me, cars are simply a point a to point b proposition. I enjoy the business aspect of the car business, but to treat cars as investments is insane. 99% of cars are depreciating assets. Lot of poor people driving nice cars and lots of rich people driving crappy cars. Think about that.

So has NACS (J3400) adoption by the majority EV manufacturers now have the hesitant buyers holding off until that native inlet shows up and the vast majority of plugs available from every provider match that inlet❓Thereby skip the adapter drama 🎭 and buy when that dust settles and there are literally even more plugs installed than there is today. 👉🏼Also to miss out on these plummeting prices that have been caused by that hesitation in the first place because of all these changes bottom out prices of this daily commodity and buy at the right moment❓ In another words is it self-fulfilling prophecy and where will the bottom be found❓ Will it be when all of these plugs and inlets match and there are far less negatives and many more positives to charging❓Will this IONNA have to build out the infrastructure and roughly double it before these values recover❓🤷🏻 I’m obviously not looking at the collectors value but just value that makes a dent and everybody’s middle class pocket.

You dont have to like the person. Its about policies that work for the American nation, moreover the average working class. Why is Trump scary? If you like the current state of the economy, politics, and society, then vote for the current regime. They can tax you crazy and ask you to pay $5.00 gas, $20.00 burger meals, spend your tax money on Illegal Immigrants, send your tax money to Israel-Hamas war or Ukraine-Russia war and you could still bend over and feel fine about it because you just dislike Trump. Its not about feelings.
